< Job 21 >
Pamenepo Yobu anayankha kuti,
2 “Listen carefully to my words; let this be your consolation to me.
“Mvetserani bwino mawu anga; ichi chikhale chitonthozo changa chochokera kwa inu.
3 Bear with me while I speak; then, after I have spoken, you may go on mocking.
Ndiloleni ndiyankhule ndipo ndikatha kuyankhula munditonzetonze.
4 Is my complaint against a man? Then why should I not be impatient?
“Kodi ine ndikudandaulira munthu? Tsono ndilekerenji kupsa mtima?
5 Look at me and be appalled; put your hand over your mouth.
Ndipenyeni ndipo mudabwe; mugwire dzanja pakamwa.
6 When I remember, terror takes hold, and my body trembles in horror.
Ndikamaganiza zimenezi ndimachita mantha kwambiri; thupi langa limanjenjemera.
7 Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power?
Chifukwa chiyani anthu oyipa amakhalabe ndi moyo, amakalamba ndi kusanduka amphamvu?
8 Their descendants are established around them, and their offspring before their eyes.
Amaona ana awo akukhazikika pamodzi nawo, zidzukulu zawo zikukula bwino iwo akuona.
9 Their homes are safe from fear; no rod of punishment from God is upon them.
Mabanja awo amakhala pa mtendere ndipo sakhala ndi mantha; mkwapulo wa Mulungu suwakhudza nʼkomwe.
10 Their bulls breed without fail; their cows bear calves and do not miscarry.
Ngʼombe zawo zazimuna sizilephera kubereketsa; ngʼombe zawo zazikazi sizipoloza.
11 They send forth their little ones like a flock; their children skip about,
Amatulutsa ana awo ngati gulu la nkhosa; makanda awo amavinavina pabwalo.
12 singing to the tambourine and lyre and making merry at the sound of the flute.
Amayimba nyimbo pogwiritsa ntchito matambolini ndi azeze; amakondwa pakumva kulira kwa chitoliro.
13 They spend their days in prosperity and go down to Sheol in peace. (Sheol )
Zaka zawo zimatha ali mu ulemerero ndipo amatsikira ku manda mwamtendere. (Sheol )
14 Yet they say to God: ‘Leave us alone! For we have no desire to know Your ways.
Koma anthuwo amawuza Mulungu kuti, ‘Tichokereni!’ Ife tilibe chikhumbokhumbo chofuna kudziwa njira zanu.
15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him, and what would we gain if we pray to Him?’
Kodi Wamphamvuzonseyo ndani kuti timutumikire? Ife tipindula chiyani tikamapemphera kwa Iyeyo?
16 Still, their prosperity is not in their own hands, so I stay far from the counsel of the wicked.
Komatu ulemerero wawo suli mʼmanja mwawo, koma ine ndimakhala patali ndi uphungu wa anthu oyipa.
17 How often is the lamp of the wicked put out? Does disaster come upon them? Does God, in His anger, apportion destruction?
“Koma nʼkangati kamene nyale ya anthu oyipa imazimitsidwa? Nʼkangati kamene tsoka limawagwera? Nʼkangati kamene Mulungu amawakwiyira ndi kuwalanga?
18 Are they like straw before the wind, like chaff swept away by a storm?
Nʼkangati kamene iwo amakhala ngati phesi lowuluka ndi mphepo, ngati mungu wowuluzika ndi kamvuluvulu?
19 It is said that God lays up one’s punishment for his children. Let God repay the man himself, so he will know it.
Paja amati, ‘Mulungu amalanga ana chifukwa cha machimo abambo awo.’ Koma Mulungu amabwezera chilango munthuyo, kuti adziwe kuti Mulungu amalangadi.
20 Let his eyes see his own destruction; let him drink for himself the wrath of the Almighty.
Mulole kuti adzionere yekha chilango chake, kuti alawe ukali wa Wamphamvuzonse.
21 For what does he care about his household after him, when the number of his months has run out?
Nanga kodi amalabadira chiyani zabanja lake limene walisiya mʼmbuyo, pamene chiwerengero cha masiku ake chatha?
22 Can anyone teach knowledge to God, since He judges those on high?
“Kodi alipo wina amene angaphunzitse Mulungu nzeru, poti Iye amaweruza ngakhale anthu apamwamba?
23 One man dies full of vigor, completely secure and at ease.
Munthu wina amamwalira ali ndi mphamvu zonse, ali pa mtendere ndi pa mpumulo,
24 His body is well nourished, and his bones are rich with marrow.
thupi lake lili lonenepa, mafupa ake ali odzaza ndi mafuta.
25 Yet another man dies in the bitterness of his soul, having never tasted prosperity.
Munthu wina amamwalira ali wowawidwa mtima, wosalawapo chinthu chabwino chilichonse.
26 But together they lie down in the dust, and worms cover them both.
Olemera ndi osauka omwe amamwalira ndi kuyikidwa mʼmanda ndipo onse amatuluka mphutsi.
27 Behold, I know your thoughts full well, the schemes by which you would wrong me.
“Ndikudziwa bwino zimene mukuganiza, ziwembu zanu zomwe mukuti mundichitire.
28 For you say, ‘Where now is the nobleman’s house, and where are the tents in which the wicked dwell?’
Inu mukuti, ‘Kodi nyumba ya mkulu uja ili kuti, matenti amene munkakhala anthu oyipa aja ali kuti?’
29 Have you never asked those who travel the roads? Do you not accept their reports?
Kodi munawafunsapo anthu amene ali pa ulendo? Kodi munaganizirapo zimene iwo amanena?
30 Indeed, the evil man is spared from the day of calamity, delivered from the day of wrath.
Zakuti munthu woyipa amasungidwa chifukwa cha tsiku la tsoka, kuti amapulumutsidwa chifukwa cha tsiku la ukali wa Mulungu?
31 Who denounces his behavior to his face? Who repays him for what he has done?
Kodi ndani amadzudzula munthu wochimwayo? Ndani amamubwezera zoyipa zimene anachita?
32 He is carried to the grave, and watch is kept over his tomb.
Iye amanyamulidwa kupita ku manda ndipo anthu amachezera pa manda ake.
33 The clods of the valley are sweet to him; everyone follows behind him, and those before him are without number.
Dothi la ku chigwa limamukomera; anthu onse amatsatira mtembo wake, ndipo anthu osawerengeka amakhala patsogolo pa chitanda chakecho.
34 So how can you comfort me with empty words? For your answers remain full of falsehood.”
“Nanga inu mudzanditonthoza bwanji ine ndi mawu anu opandapakewo palibe chimene chatsala kuti muyankhe koma mabodza basi!”
