For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls,

لِأَنَّهُ وَهُمَا لَمْ يُولَدَا بَعْدُ، وَلَا فَعَلَا خَيْرًا أَوْ شَرًّا، لِكَيْ يَثْبُتَ قَصْدُ ٱللهِ حَسَبَ ٱلِٱخْتِيَارِ، لَيْسَ مِنَ ٱلْأَعْمَالِ بَلْ مِنَ ٱلَّذِي يَدْعُو،
وَلَمْ يَكُنِ الْوَلَدَانِ قَدْ وُلِدَا بَعْدُ وَلا فَعَلا خَيْراً أَوْ شَرّاً، وَذلِكَ كَيْ يَبْقَى قَصْدُ اللهِ مِنْ جِهَةِ الاخْتِيَارِ
