John 18
1 Bu kamana tuba mambu momo, Yesu wuyenda ayi minlonguki miandi ku ndambu yinkaka yi mvuila nlangu yi Sediloni. Bakota mu ndima yimosi yi minti yiba kuna.
Jesus, having said these things, went out with his disciples beyond the torrent Cedron, where was a garden, into which he entered, he and his disciples.
2 Yuda mutu wowo wunyekula, wuzala buangu beni, bila zikhumbu ziwombo Yesu kaba kutakananga kuna ayi minlonguki miandi.
And Judas also, who delivered him up, knew the place, because Jesus was often there, in company with his disciples.
3 Buna Yuda wunata kuna nkangu wu masodi ayi minsungi mi Nzo Nzambi, miomi bamvana kuidi bapfumu zi zinganga Nzambi ayi Bafalisi. Bayiza ayi minda mi masisa, minda mi mavidila ayi binduanina.
Judas therefore, having got the band, and officers of the chief priests and Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Yesu bu kazaba mamo meka kunkuizila, wuyenda ku baba ayi wuba yuvula: —Nani luntomba e?
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth and said to them, Whom seek ye?
5 Bamvutudila: —Yesu muisi Nazaleti! Yesu wuba kamba ti: —Minuꞌawu. Yuda, mutu wunyekula wuba yawu va kimosi.
They answered him, Jesus the Nazaraean. Jesus says to them, I am [he]. And Judas also, who delivered him up, stood with them.
6 Mu thangu Yesu kaba kamba ti “Minu awu”; bavutikisa mambusa-mbusaayi babua va ntoto.
When therefore he said to them, I am [he], they went away backward and fell to the ground.
7 Yesu wubuela kuba yuvula diaka: —Nani luntomba e? Bawu babuela kumvutudila: —Yesu muisi Nazaleti!
He demanded of them therefore again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus the Nazaraean.
8 Yesu wukamba ti: —Ndilukembi ti minuꞌawu. Enati minu luntomba, buna lubika baba benda kuawu!
Jesus answered, I told you that I am [he]: if therefore ye seek me, let these go away;
9 Buawu bobo bu dedikinina mambu katuba: “kadi mutu wumosi ndisi zimbisa ko mu bobo wuphana”.
that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, [As to] those whom thou hast given me, I have not lost one of them.
10 Simoni Piela wuba ayi sabala, wuvola sabala kiandi; wuzuba kisadi ki pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi ayi wunzenga dikutu di lubakala. Dizina di kisadi beni Malikusi.
Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and smote the bondman of the high priest and cut off his right ear; and the bondman's name was Malchus.
11 Vayi Yesu wukamba Piela: —Vutula sabala mu lubunda. A buevi ndibika nua mbungu yoyi yiphana Tata e?
Jesus therefore said to Peter, Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given me, shall I not drink it?
12 Nkangu wu masodi ayi pfumu awu va kimosi minsungi mi Bayuda, babuila ayibakanga Yesu.
The band therefore, and the chiliarch, and the officers of the Jews, took Jesus and bound him:
13 Bannata theti kuidi Ana, bila wuba nkuekizi wu Kayife, wuba pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi mu mvu beni.
and they led him away to Annas first; for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.
14 Muaki Kayife niandi wuvana ndongi kuidi Bayuda ti bulutidi mbotimutu wumosi kafua mu diambu di batu boso.
But it was Caiaphas who counselled the Jews that it was better that one man should perish for the people.
15 Simoni Piela ayi nlonguki wunkaka, balandakana Yesu. Nlonguki beni wuzabakana kuidi pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi. Diawu nlonguki beni kakotila ayi Yesu ku luphangu lu pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi.
Now Simon Peter followed Jesus, and the other disciple. But that disciple was known to the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest;
16 Vayi Piela wutelama va muelo, ku nganda. Nlonguki wowo wuzabakana kuidi pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi, wutotuka ayi wusolula ayi nsungi wunkieto wu muelo wuba vana; mbadi wukotisa Piela.
but Peter stood at the door without. The other disciple therefore, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the porteress and brought in Peter.
17 Kisadi ki nketo kisunga muelo wuyuvula Piela: —A ngeyo, widiko wumosi mu minlonguki mi mutu wowo e? Piela wumvutudila: —Nana, ndisi nlonguki andi ko.
The maid therefore, who was porteress, says to Peter, Art thou also of the disciples of this man? He says, I am not.
18 Bisadi ayi minsungi balunga mbazu, bayizungidila mu kuyiyotila bila kiozi kuba. Piela mamvandi wuba yawu va kimosi; wuyota mbazu.
But the bondmen and officers, having made a fire of coals (for it was cold), stood and warmed themselves; and Peter was standing with them and warming himself.
19 Pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi wutona yuvula Yesu biuvu mu diambu di minlonguki miandi ayi mu diambu di malongi mandi.
The high priest therefore demanded of Jesus concerning his disciples and concerning his doctrine.
20 Yesu wumvutudila: —Va meso ma batu boso ndiyolukila; ndibedi longanga mu zinzo zilukutukunu mu zithangu zioso ayi mu nzo Nzambi, kuna kubedi kutakananga Bayuda boso ayi kadi diambu dimosi ndisia tubila ko mu kinsueki.
Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I taught always in [the] synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews come together, and in secret I have spoken nothing.
21 Buna bila mbi wulembo kundiuvula biuvu biobi e? Yuvula batu bobobabedi kunguanga, mambu mbi ndiba kamba. Bukiedika bawu bazebi mambu ndituba.
Why demandest thou of me? Demand of those who have heard, what I have spoken to them; behold, they know what I have said.
22 Yesu bu kamana tuba bobo, nsungi wumosi wuba vana wuzuba Yesu mbata, wunkamba: —Buawu bobo fueti vutudila mvutu kuidi pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi.
But as he said these things, one of the officers who stood by gave a blow on the face to Jesus, saying, Answerest thou the high priest thus?
23 Yesu wumvutudila: —Enati bu mbimbi thubidi buna mbonisa mbimbi yoyi thubidi. Buna bila mbi wunzubidi mbata enati bukiedika thubidie?
Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why smitest thou me?
24 Ana wufidisa Yesu wukangama mu minsinga kuidi Kayife, pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi.
Annas [then] had sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
25 Simoni Piela wuba vana, wunyota mbazu. Banyuvula: —Ngeyo wisiko wumosi mu minlonguki miandi e? Piela wutunuka bu katuba: —Nana, ndisi nlonguki andi ko.
But Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, Art thou also of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.
26 Vayi kisadi kimosi, mu bisadi bi pfumu yi zinganga Nzambi, wubakhomba yi mutu wowo Piela kazenga dikutu, wukamba Piela: —Ngeyo, ndisi kumonanga ko va kimosi ayi mutu wuna ku ndima yi minti e?
One of the bondmen of the high priest, who was kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, says, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27 Piela wubuela tunuka diaka. Mu thangu yina kaka tsusu yikokula.
Peter denied therefore again, and immediately [the] cock crew.
28 Mu nsuka, batotuka ku nzo Kayife ayi banata Yesu ku buangu kioki bansambisilanga batu. Bobo bannata basia kota ko ku buangu beni muingi babika sumuka vayi mu diambu babaka budila Pasika.
They lead therefore Jesus from Caiaphas to the praetorium; and it was early morn. And they entered not into the praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but eat the passover.
29 Pilatu wutotuka, ku baba ayi wuba yuvula: —Mambu mbi lufundidi mutu wowo e?
Pilate therefore went out to them and said, What accusation do ye bring against this man?
30 Bamvutudila: —Enati mutu wawu kasi ba mvangi wu mambu mambimbi ko nganu tuisi kunyekula ko kuidi ngeyo.
They answered and said to him, If this [man] were not an evildoer, we should not have delivered him up to thee.
31 Buna Pilatu wuba kamba: —Lumbonga beno veka ayi lunsambisa beno veka, boso buididi Mina mieno! Bayuda bamvutudila: —Beto tuisiko minsua mu vonda mutu.
Pilate therefore said to them, Take him, ye, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him, It is not permitted to us to put any one to death;
32 Buawu bobo bu dedikinina mambu matuba Yesu mu diambu di monisaphila lufua kela fuila.
that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled which he spoke, signifying what death he should die.
33 Pilatu wukota ku buangu kioki bansambisilanga batu, wutela Yesu, wunyuvula: —Ngeyo widi ntinu wu Bayuda e?
Pilate therefore entered again into the praetorium and called Jesus, and said to him, Thou art the king of the Jews?
34 Yesu wumvutudila: —Mambu momo wuntuba kuidi ngeyo veka mabedi voti batu bankaka bakembi mawu mu diambu diama e?
Jesus answered [him], Dost thou say this of thyself, or have others said it to thee concerning me?
35 Pilatu wumvutudila: —Minu ndidi Nyuda e? Basi tsi aku ayi bapfumu zi zinganga Nzambi bawu bayekudi kuidi minu. Mbi wuvengi e?
Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy nation and the chief priests have delivered thee up to me: what hast thou done?
36 Yesu wumvutudila: —Kipfumu kiama kisi ki nza yayi ko. Enati kipfumu kiama kidi ki nzayayi, nganu bisadi biama binueni mu diambu ndibika yekulu mu mioko mi Bayuda. Vayi buabu kipfumu kiama kisi ki nza yayi ko.
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants had fought that I might not be delivered up to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from hence.
37 Pilatu wunyuvula: —Buna widi ntinu e? Yesu wumvutudila: —Ngeyo tubidi buawu, ti minu ndidi ntinu! Minu ndibutuka mu diambu diadi ayi mu diambu diadi ndiyizila va nza: mu diambu di telimina kiedika kimbangi. Woso mutu widi mu kiedika buna weta wanga mbembo ama.
Pilate therefore said to him, Thou art then a king? Jesus answered, Thou sayest [it], that I am a king. I have been born for this, and for this I have come into the world, that I might bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.
38 Pilatu wunyuvula: —Buna mbi biobio kiedika e? Bu kamana tuba bobo, wubuela totuka diaka ku nganda kuba Bayuda ayi wuba kamba: —Kadi bila kimosi ndikadi mona mu niandi.
Pilate says to him, What is truth? And having said this he went out again to the Jews, and says to them, I find no fault whatever in him.
39 Vayi kifu kieno kidi ti mfueti ku lutotudila mutu wumosi mu nloko mu thangu yi Pasika. A buevi, lutidi ndilutotudila ntinu wu Bayuda e?
But ye have a custom that I release [some] one to you at the passover; will ye therefore that I release unto you the king of the Jews?
40 Buna babo bayamikina mu mbembo yingolo: —Nana! Niandi ko! Wututotudila balabasi! Balabasi wuba dovula.
They cried therefore again all, saying, Not this [man], but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
