< Joba 4 >
1 Dia namaly Elifaza Temanita ka nanao hoe:
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
2 Raha misy sahy miteny aminao, dia ho sosotra va ianao? Fa raha ny mamehy vava kosa, iza moa no mahazaka izany?
If anyone tries to speak with you, will you be impatient? But who can stop himself from speaking?
3 Indro, efa nananatra ny maro ianao. Ary ny tanana miraviravy efa nampaherezinao;
See, you have instructed many; you have strengthened weak hands.
4 Ny teninao efa nanohana izay efa saiky lavo, ary ny lohalika malemy efa nampahatanjahinao
Your words have supported him who was falling; you have made feeble knees firm.
5 Nefa ankehitriny mba manjo anao kosa izany, ka dia kivy ianao, Mihatra aminao izany, ka raiki-tahotra ianao
But now trouble has come to you, and you are weary; it touches you, and you are troubled.
6 Tsy ny fivavahanao va no tokinao? Ary tsy fanantenanao va ny fahitsian’ ny lalanao?
Is not your fear your confidence, and the integrity of your ways your hope?
7 Masìna ianao, tsarovy fa iza moa no very tsy nanan-tsiny? Ary taiza no nisy olo-mahitsy naringana?
Think about this, please: Who has ever perished when innocent? Or when were the upright people ever cut off?
8 Araka izay efa hitako, dia izay miasa heloka sy mamafy fahoriana no mijinja izany.
According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap it.
9 Ny fofonain’ Andriamanitra no andringanana azy. Eny, ny fofonain’ ny fahatezerany no mahalevona azy.
By the breath of God they perish; by the blast of his anger they are consumed.
10 Ny feon’ ny olona, eny, ny feon’ ny liona masiaka, ary ny nifin’ ny liona tanora dia ombotana;
The roaring of the lion, the voice of the fierce lion, the teeth of the young lions—they are broken.
11 Mirenireny ny lion-dahy noho ny tsi-fahitany remby, ary miely ny zanaky ny liom-bavy.
The old lion perishes for lack of victims; the cubs of the lioness are scattered everywhere.
12 Nisy teny tonga tamiko mangingina, ary ny sofiko nahare siosio avy taminy,
Now a certain matter was secretly brought to me, and my ear received a whisper about it.
13 Tamin’ ny eritreritra avy amin’ ny tsindrimandry alina, raha sondrian-tory ny olona,
Then came thoughts from visions in the night, when deep sleep falls on people.
14 Dia azon-tahotra sy hovotra aho, ka nampihorohoro ny taolako rehetra izany.
It was at night when fear and trembling came upon me, and all my bones shook.
15 Ary nisy fanahy nandalo teo anatrehako ka nampitsangam-bolo ny tenako.
Then a spirit passed before my face, and the hair of my flesh stood up.
16 Nijanona izy, nefa tsy nahafantatra ny tarehiny aho; Nisy endri-javatra teo anoloan’ ny masoko; Nisy fanginana, dia nandre feo aho nanao hoe:
The spirit stood still, but I could not discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes; there was silence, and I heard a voice that said,
17 Ho marina noho Andriamanitra va ny zanak’ olombelona? Ho madio noho ny Mpanao azy va ny olona?
“Can a mortal man be more righteous than God? Can a man be more pure than his Maker?
18 Indro, tsy matoky ireo mpanompony aza Izy, eny, ny anjeliny aza ataony ho tsy tonga ohatra.
See, if God puts no trust in his servants; if he accuses his angels of folly,
19 Koa mainka izay mitoetra ao an-trano tany, sady avy tamin’ ny vovoka no nihaviany, ary mora poritra noho ny kalalao izy;
how much more is this true of those who live in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed sooner than a moth?
20 Indray andro monja dia montsana izy; Tsy misy misaina azy, na dia levona mandrakizay aza izy.
Between morning and evening they are destroyed; they perish forever without anyone noticing them.
21 Tsy voaongotra va ny kofehin-dainy ao aminy? Maty izy, nefa tsy mbola nanam-pahendrena.
Are not their tent cords plucked up among them? They die; they die without wisdom.
