1 Dicsérjétek az Urat! Dicsérd én lelkem az Urat!
Praise Yahweh! With my whole inner being I will praise Yahweh.
2 Dicsérem az Urat, a míg élek; éneklek az én Istenemnek, a míg vagyok.
I will praise Yahweh as long as I am alive; I will sing to praise my God for [the rest of] my life.
3 Ne bízzatok a fejedelmekben, emberek fiában, a ki meg nem menthet!
[You people], do not trust in your leaders; do not trust humans because they cannot save/rescue you [from your difficulties/problems].
4 Kimegyen a lelke; visszatér földébe, és aznapon elvesznek az ő tervei.
And when they die, their corpses [decay and] become soil again. After they die, they can no longer do the things that they planned to do.
5 Boldog, a kinek segítsége a Jákób Istene, és reménysége van az Úrban, az ő Istenében;
But those whose helper is the God whom Jacob [worshiped] are happy. The one whom they confidently expect [to help them] is Yahweh, their God.
6 A ki teremtette az eget és földet, a tengert és mindent, a mi bennök van. A ki megtartja a hűségét örökké;
He is the one who created heaven and the earth and the oceans and all [the creatures] that are in them. He always does what he has promised to do.
7 Igazságot szolgáltat az elnyomottaknak, eledelt ád az éhezőknek. Az Úr megszabadítja az elfogottakat.
He decides matters fairly for those who are (treated unfairly/oppressed), and he provides food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are in prison.
8 Az Úr megnyitja a vakok szemeit, az Úr felegyenesíti a meggörnyedteket; szereti az Úr az igazakat.
Yahweh enables those who are blind to see again. He lifts up those who have fallen down. He loves righteous [people].
9 Megoltalmazza az Úr a jövevényeket; árvát és özvegyet megtart, és a gonoszok útját elfordítja.
Yahweh takes care of those from other countries who live in our land, and he helps widows and orphans. But he gets rid of wicked [people].
10 Uralkodni fog az Úr örökké, a te Istened, oh Sion, nemzedékről nemzedékre! Dicsérjétek az Urat!
Yahweh will [continue to] be our king forever; you people of Israel, your God will rule forever! Praise Yahweh!
