Galatákhoz 3
1 Óh balgatag Galátziabeliek, kicsoda ígézett meg titeket, hogy ne engedelmeskedjetek az igazságnak, kiknek szemei előtt a Jézus Krisztus úgy íratott le, mintha ti köztetek feszíttetett volna meg?
O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you not be persuaded by the Truth—Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as having been crucified, before your very eyes!
2 Csak azt akarom megtudni tőletek: a törvény cselekedeteiből kaptátok-é a Lelket, avagy a hit hallásából?
Just tell me one thing: Did you receive the Spirit by works of law, or by hearing of faith?
3 Ennyire esztelenek vagytok? A mit Lélekben kezdtetek el, most testben fejeznétek be?
Can you be so foolish? Having begun in spirit, do you finish in flesh?
4 Annyit szenvedtetek hiába? ha ugyan hiába.
Have you suffered so much for nothing—if it really was for nothing?
5 Annakokáért, a ki a Lelket szolgáltatja néktek, és hatalmas dolgokat művel bennetek, a törvény cselekedeteiből, vagy a hit hallásából cselekeszi-é?
Furthermore, He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, is He activated by works of law, or by hearing of faith?—
6 Miképen Ábrahám hitt az Istennek, és tulajdoníttatott néki igazságul.
just as Abraham ‘believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.’
7 Értsétek meg tehát, hogy a kik hitből vannak, azok az Ábrahám fiai.
Now you must know that only those who are of faith are ‘sons’ of Abraham.
8 Előre látván pedig az Írás, hogy Isten hitből fogja megigazítani a pogányokat, eleve hirdette Ábrahámnak, hogy: Te benned fognak megáldatni minden népek.
Further, the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the nations by faith, proclaimed the Gospel in advance to Abraham: “All the nations will be blessed through you.”
9 Ekként a hitből valók áldatnak meg a hívő Ábrahámmal.
So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the faithful.
10 Mert a kik törvény cselekedeteiből vannak, átok alatt vannak; minthogy meg van írva: Átkozott minden, a ki meg nem marad mindazokban, a mik megirattak a törvény könyvében, hogy azokat cselekedje.
Now as many as are ‘by works of law’ are under a curse; because it stands written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things written in the Book of the Law, to do them.”
11 Hogy pedig a törvény által senki sem igazul meg Isten előtt, nyilvánvaló, mert az igaz ember hitből él.
Further, it is evident that no one is justified by law before God, because “the righteous one will live by faith.”
12 A törvény pedig nincs hitből, hanem a mely ember cselekeszi azokat, élni fog azok által.
While the law is not of faith but, “the man who does them will live by them.”
13 Krisztus váltott meg minket a törvény átkától, átokká levén érettünk; mert meg van írva: Átkozott minden, a ki fán függ:
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse in our place—because it stands written, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree”—
14 Hogy az Ábrahám áldása Krisztus Jézusban legyen a pogányokon, hogy a Lélek ígéretét elnyerjük hit által.
so that the blessing of Abraham might come to the nations/Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through the faith.
15 Atyámfiai! ember szerint szólok. Lám az embernek megerősített testámentomát senki erőtelenné nem teszi, sem ahhoz hozzá nem ád.
Brothers: as a man I speak a covenant; though only of a man, once it has been ratified no one annuls or adds to it.
16 Az ígéretek pedig Ábrahámnak adattak és az ő magvának. Nem mondja: És a magvaknak, mint sokról; hanem mint egyről. És a te magodnak, a ki a Krisztus.
But to Abraham were spoken the promises, and to his Seed. He does not say “and to seeds,” as about many, but “and to your seed,” as about one, who is Christ.
17 Ezt mondom pedig, hogy a kötést, melyet Isten először megerősített a Krisztusra nézve, a négyszázharmincz esztendő multán keletkezett törvény nem teszi erőtelenné, hogy megsemmisítse az ígéretet.
Further, I say this: a covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ cannot be annulled by the law that came four hundred and thirty years later, so as to make the promise of no effect.
18 Mert ha törvényből van az örökség, akkor többé nem ígéretből; Ábrahámnak pedig ígéret által ajándékozta azt az Isten.
For if the inheritance were of law, it would no longer be of promise, but God granted it to Abraham by promise.
19 Micsoda tehát a törvény? A bűnök okáért adatott, a míg eljő a Mag, a kinek tétetett az ígéret; rendeltetvén angyalok által, közbenjáró kezében.
Why then the law? It was added on account of the transgressions, until the Seed should come to whom the inheritance had been promised; and it was ordered through angels by the hand of a mediator.
20 A közbenjáró pedig nem egyé, Isten ellenben egy.
(Now that mediator is not for just one, but God is one.)
21 A törvény tehát az Isten ígéretei ellen van-é? Távol legyen! Mert ha olyan törvény adatott volna, a mely képes megeleveníteni, valóban a törvényből volna az igazság.
Is the law then against the promises of God? Of course not! Rather, if a law had been given that was capable of imparting life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.
22 De az Írás mindent bűn alá rekesztett, hogy az ígéret Jézus Krisztusban való hitből adassék a hívőknek.
But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23 Minekelőtte pedig eljött a hit, törvény alatt őriztettünk, egybezárva az eljövendő hit kinyilatkoztatásáig.
Now before this faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, in confinement until the coming faith was revealed.
24 Ekként a törvény Krisztusra vezérlő mesterünkké lett, hogy hitből igazuljunk meg.
So then, the law became our guardian until Christ, so that we might be justified by faith.
25 De minekutána eljött a hit, nem vagyunk többé a vezérlő mester alatt.
Now that the faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.
26 Mert mindnyájan Isten fiai vagytok a Krisztus Jézusban való hit által.
So all of you are sons of God through the faith in Christ Jesus.
27 Mert a kik Krisztusba keresztelkedtetek meg, Krisztust öltöztétek fel.
As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ
28 Nincs zsidó, sem görög; nincs szolga, sem szabad; nincs férfi, sem nő; mert ti mindnyájan egyek vagytok a Krisztus Jézusban.
—there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no ‘male and female’; all of you are one in Christ Jesus—
29 Ha pedig Krisztuséi vagytok, tehát az Ábrahám magva vagytok, és ígéret szerint örökösök.
so if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise.
