Job 18
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Potem je odgovoril Bildád Suhéjec in rekel:
2 When will yee make an ende of your words? cause vs to vnderstande, and then wee will speake.
»Kako dolgo bo, preden boste naredili konec besedam? Premislite in potem bomo govorili.
3 Wherefore are wee counted as beastes, and are vile in your sight?
Zakaj smo šteti kakor živali in smatrani podle v vašem pogledu?
4 Thou art as one that teareth his soule in his anger. Shall the earth bee forsaken for thy sake? or the rocke remoued out of his place?
V svoji jezi trga samega sebe. Mar bo zemlja zapuščena zaradi tebe? Mar bo skala odstranjena iz svojega kraja?
5 Yea, the light of the wicked shalbe quenched, and the sparke of his fire shall not shine.
Da, svetloba zlobnega bo ugasnjena in iskrica njegovega ognja ne bo sijala.
6 The light shalbe darke in his dwelling, and his candle shalbe put out with him.
Svetloba bo tema v njegovem šotoru in njegova sveča bo ugasnjena z njim.
7 The steps of his strength shalbe restrained, and his owne counsell shall cast him downe.
Koraki njegove moči bodo omejeni in njegov lastni nasvet ga bo vrgel dol.
8 For hee is taken in the net by his feete, and he walketh vpon the snares.
Kajti s svojim lastnim stopalom je vržen v mrežo in hodi po zanki.
9 The grenne shall take him by the heele, and the theefe shall come vpon him.
Past ga bo prijela za peto in ropar bo prevladal zoper njega.
10 A snare is layed for him in the ground, and a trappe for him in the way.
Zanka je položena zanj na tleh in pasti zanj na poti.
11 Fearefulnesse shall make him afrayde on euery side, and shall driue him to his feete.
Strahote ga bodo prestrašile na vsaki strani in ga pognale k njegovim stopalom.
12 His strength shalbe famine: and destruction shalbe readie at his side.
Njegova moč bo oslabljena zaradi lakote in uničenje bo pripravljeno ob njegovi strani.
13 It shall deuoure the inner partes of his skinne, and the first borne of death shall deuoure his strength.
Požrlo bo moč njegove kože. Celó prvorojenec smrti bo požrl njegovo moč.
14 His hope shalbe rooted out of his dwelling, and shall cause him to go to the King of feare.
Njegovo zaupanje bo izkoreninjeno iz njegovega šotora in to ga bo privedlo h kralju strahot.
15 Feare shall dwell in his house (because it is not his) and brimstone shalbe scattered vpon his habitation.
Prebivalo bo v njegovem šotoru, ker ta ni njegov. Žveplo bo raztreseno nad njegovim prebivališčem.
16 His rootes shalbe dryed vp beneath, and aboue shall his branche be cut downe.
Njegove korenine bodo posušene spodaj in zgoraj bo njegova veja odsekana.
17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall haue no name in the streete.
Spomin nanj bo izginil z zemlje in nobenega imena ne bo imel na ulici.
18 They shall driue him out of the light vnto darkenesse, and chase him out of the world.
Iz svetlobe bo pognan v temo in pregnan bo iz zemeljskega [kroga].
19 Hee shall neither haue sonne nor nephewe among his people, nor any posteritie in his dwellings.
Med svojim ljudstvom ne bo imel niti sina niti nečaka niti nobenega preživelega v svojih prebivališčih.
20 The posteritie shalbe astonied at his day, and feare shall come vpon the ancient.
Tisti, ki pridejo za njim, bodo osupli ob njegovem dnevu, kakor so bili zgroženi tisti, ki so šli poprej.
21 Surely such are the habitations of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
Zagotovo, takšna so prebivališča zlobnih in to je kraj tistega, ki ne pozna Boga.«
