< Psalms 137 >
1 By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion.
Mʼmbali mwa mitsinje ya ku Babuloni tinakhala pansi ndi kulira pamene tinakumbukira Ziyoni.
2 There on the willows we hung our harps,
Kumeneko, pa mitengo ya misondozi tinapachika apangwe athu,
3 for there our captors requested a song; our tormentors demanded songs of joy: “Sing us a song of Zion.”
pakuti anthu otigwira ukapolo anatipempha kuti tiyimbe nyimbo. Otizunza athu anafuna nyimbo zachisangalalo; iwo anati, “Tiyimbireni imodzi mwa nyimbo za ku Ziyoni!”
4 How can we sing a song of the LORD in a foreign land?
Tingayimbe bwanji nyimbo za Yehova mʼdziko lachilendo?
5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand cease to function.
Ndikakuyiwala iwe Yerusalemu, dzanja langa lamanja liyiwale luso lake.
6 May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not exalt Jerusalem as my greatest joy!
Lilime langa limamatire ku nkhama za mʼkamwa mwanga ndikapanda kukukumbukira iwe Yerusalemu, ngati sindiyesa iwe chimwemwe changa chachikulu.
7 Remember, O LORD, the sons of Edom on the day Jerusalem fell: “Destroy it,” they said, “tear it down to its foundations!”
Kumbukirani, Inu Yehova, zimene Aedomu anachita pa tsiku limene Yerusalemu anagonja. Iwowo anafuwula kuti, “Mugwetseni pansi, mugwetseni pansi mpaka pa maziko ake!”
8 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, blessed is he who repays you as you have done to us.
Iwe mwana wa mkazi wa Babuloni, woyenera kuwonongedwa, wodalitsika ndi yemwe adzakubwezera pa zimene watichitira.
9 Blessed is he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.
Amene adzagwira makanda ako ndi kuwakankhanthitsa pa miyala.
