Acts 9
1 But Saul, still breathing threat and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, after going to the high priest,
Men Saulus hade ännu i sinnet trug och slag emot Herrans Lärjungar; och gick till öfversta Presten;
2 he requested letters from him for Damascus, to the synagogues, so that if he found any who were of the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
Och han beddes af honom bref till de Synagogor i Damasco, att hvem han finna kunde af denna vägen, män eller qvinnor, dem skulle han föra bundna till Jerusalem.
3 And on going, it came to pass for him to approach Damascus. And suddenly there shone around him a light out of heaven.
Och vid han var i vägen, och nalkades intill Damascum, då kringsken honom hasteliga ett sken af himmelen.
4 And after falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why do thou persecute me?
Och han föll ned på jordena, och hörde ena röst, sägandes till sig: Saul, Saul, hvi förföljer du mig?
5 And he said, Who are thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecute.
Då sade han: Ho äst du, Herre? Sade Herren: Jag är Jesus, den du förföljer; dig är svårt att spjerna emot udden.
6 But arise, and enter into the city, and it will be told thee what thou must do.
Då skalf han, och bäfvade, och sade: Herre, hvad vill du jag skall göra? Sade Herren till honom: Statt upp, och gack in i staden, och der skall dig varda sagdt, hvad du göra skall.
7 And the men who traveled with him had stopped, speechless, indeed hearing the voice, but seeing no man.
Och de män, som voro i sällskap med honom, stodo förskräckte, hörandes väl röstena, och dock likväl sågo de ingen.
8 And Saul arose from the ground. And when his eyes were opened, he saw no man. But they brought him into Damascus, leading him by the hand.
Då stod Saulus upp af jordene, och upplät sin ögon, och kunde dock ingen se; utan de togo honom vid handena, och ledde honom in i Damascum.
9 And he was three days not seeing, and did not eat or drink.
Och han var i tre dagar, så att han såg intet, och intet åt, ej heller drack.
10 Now there was a certain disciple in Damascus, named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold me, Lord.
Så var uti Damasco en Lärjunge, benämnd Ananias; till honom sade Herren uti en syn: Anania. Och han sade: Herre, här är jag.
11 And the Lord said to him, After rising, go into the street called Straight, and seek in the house of Judas, a man named Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying.
Och Herren sade till honom: Statt upp, och gack in på den gaton, som kallas den Rätta, och sök uti Juda hus en som heter Saulus, af Tarsen; ty si, han beder.
12 And he saw in a vision a man named Ananias who came in and laid a hand on him, so that he might receive sight.
Och han hafver sett i synen en man, som heter Ananias, inkomma, och lägga handena på sig, att han skulle få sin syn igen.
13 But Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how many evil things he did to thy sanctified at Jerusalem.
Då svarade Ananias: Herre, jag hafver hört af mångom om denna mannen, huru mycket ondt han gjort hafver dinom heligom uti Jerusalem;
14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call upon thy name.
Och här hafver han nu magt af de öfversta Presterna, till att binda alla de som åkalla ditt Namn.
15 But the Lord said to him, Go, because this man is a chosen vessel to me, to bear my name before Gentiles and kings, and sons of Israel.
Då sade Herren till honom: Gack; ty han är mig ett utkoradt redskap, att han skall bära mitt Namn inför Hedningar, och för Konungar, och för Israels barn.
16 For I will give him a glimpse of how many things it is necessary for him to suffer for my name.
Och jag skall visa honom, huru mycket han lida skall för mitt Namns skull.
17 And Ananias departed and entered into the house. And having laid hands on him he said, Brother Saul, the Lord, he who appeared to thee on the road on which thou came, has sent me so that thou may receive sight, and be filled of the Holy Spirit.
Och Ananias gick åstad, och kom i huset, lade händer på honom, och sade: Saul, käre broder, Herren hafver sändt mig, Jesus, som syntes dig i vägen som du kom, att du skall få din syn igen, och uppfyllas med dem Helga Anda.
18 And straightaway there fell from his eyes, like scales, and he looked up. And immediately after rising up, he was immersed.
Och straxt föllo af hans ögon såsom fjäll, och han fick sin syn, och stod upp, och lät döpa sig;
19 And having received nourishment, he was strengthened. And Saul became with the disciples in Damascus some days.
Och tog mat till sig, och förstärkte sig. Och var Saulus med de Lärjungar, som i Damasco voro, i några dagar.
20 And straightaway he proclaimed the Christ in the synagogues, that this man is the Son of God.
Och straxt begynte han i Synagogorna predika Christum, att han var Guds Son.
21 And all those who heard were amazed, and said, Is this not the man who destroyed those in Jerusalem who call on this name? And he has come here for this, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests.
Och förundrade sig alle, som honom hörde, och sade: Är icke denne, som i Jerusalem förstörde alla de som åkalla detta Namnet; och hit är kommen deruppå, att han skulle föra dem bundna till öfversta Presterna?
22 But Saul was strengthened more, and was confounding the Jews who dwell at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.
Men Saulus förkofrade sig ju mer och mer; och öfvervann de Judar, som bodde i Damasco, bevisandes att denne var Christus.
23 And after considerable days were fulfilled, the Jews plotted to destroy him,
Efter många dagar gingo Judarna till råds emellan sig, att de skulle dräpa honom.
24 but their plot was known to Saul. And they watched the gates both day and night so that they might destroy him.
Men Saulus vardt förvarad om deras försåt; och de vaktade i portarna dag och natt, att de skulle få dräpa honom.
25 But the disciples, after taking him by night, let him down through the wall, having lowered him in a hamper.
Men Lärjungarna togo honom om natten, och släppte honom öfver muren, och läto honom neder uti en korg.
26 And when Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he attempted to join with the disciples, and they all feared him, not believing that he is a disciple.
När Saulus kom till Jerusalem, böd han till att gifva sig intill Lärjungarna; och de voro alle rädde för honom, icke troendes att han var vorden Lärjunge.
27 But Barnabas having taken him, he brought him to the apostles. And he related to them how he saw the Lord on the road, and that he spoke to him, and how he spoke boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
Men Barnabas tog honom till sig, och hade honom bort till Apostlarna; och förtäljde dem, huru han hade sett Herran i vägen, och att han hade talat med honom; och huru han hade manliga bevist sig, i Jesu Namn, uti Damasco.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem, and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Och var han sedan med dem i Jerusalem, gick ut och in, och talade trösteliga i Herrans Jesu Namn;
29 And he spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they attempted to destroy him.
Och talade och disputerade emot de Greker. Men de sökte efter att dräpa honom.
30 But when the brothers knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him away to Tarsus.
Då bröderna det förnummo, fordrade de honom intill Cesareen, och läto honom fara till Tarsum.
31 Indeed therefore the congregations throughout the whole of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being edified. And, going in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.
Så hade då nu församlingarna frid öfver hela Judeen, och Galileen, och Samarien, och förkofrade sig, vandrandes i Herrans räddhåga, och uppfylldes med den Helga Andas tröst.
32 And it came to pass, Peter, passing through all parts, to also come down to the sanctified who dwell at Lydda.
Så hände sig att, då Petrus vandrade allestäds omkring, kom han ock till de heliga, som bodde i Lydda.
33 And he found there a certain man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed, laying on a bed for eight years.
Der fann han en man, benämnd Eneas, som nu i åtta år legat hade på säng, och han var borttagen.
34 And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals thee. Arise and make thy bed. And straightaway he arose.
Och Petrus sade till honom: Enea, bote dig Jesus Christus; statt upp, och bädda åt dig sjelfvom; och straxt stod han upp.
35 And all those dwelling at Lydda and Sharon who saw him, turned to the Lord.
Och honom sågo alle, som bodde i Lydda, och i Sarona, och vordo omvände till Herran.
36 Now at Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which, being translated, is called Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charities that she did.
Men i Joppe var en lärjunginna, benämnd Tabitha; det uttydes Dorcas, det är, en rå; hon var full med goda gerningar, och almosor, som hon gaf.
37 And in those days, having been ill, she happened to die. And after washing her, they laid her in an upper chamber.
Så hände sig i de dagar, att hon vardt sjuk, och blef död; och de tvådde henne, och lade henne i salen.
38 And since Lydda is near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter is in it, they sent two men to him, exhorting him not to delay to go through to them.
Och efter Lydda var icke långt ifrå Joppe, och Lärjungarna hörde att Petrus var der, sände de två män till honom, och bådo, att han ville göra sig det omak och komma till dem.
39 And after rising, Peter went with them, whom, after coming, they brought into the upper chamber. And all the widows stood by him weeping, and exhibiting the coats and garments, as many things as Dorcas made being with them.
Då stod Petrus upp, och kom till dem. Och då han var kommen, hade de honom in i salen; och kringom honom stodo alla enkor gråtande, och viste honom kjortlar och kläder, som Dorcas hade gjort dem, medan hon var med dem.
40 But Peter, having sent them all out, having knelt down, he prayed. And having turned to the body, he said, Tabitha, arise. And the woman opened her eyes. And when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Då dref Petrus dem alla ut, och föll ned på sin knä, och bad; och vände sig om till kroppen, och sade: Tabitha, statt upp. Då öppnade hon sin ögon; och som hon fick se Petrum, satte hon sig upp igen.
41 And having given her a hand, he raised her up. And after calling the sanctified and the widows, he presented her alive.
Och han räckte henne handena, och reste henne upp; och kallade de heliga, och enkorna, och antvardade dem henne lefvandes.
42 And it became known throughout the whole of Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.
Och det vardt kunnigt öfver hela Joppe; och månge begynte tro på Herran.
43 And it came to pass for him to remain considerable days at Joppa with a certain Simon, a tanner.
Så begaf sig, att han blef i många dagar i Joppe, när en som het Simon, som var en lädermakare.
