Salme 106
1 Halleluja! Lov Herren, thi han er god, thi hans miskundhed varer evindelig!
Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord because he is good, for his mercie endureth for euer.
2 Hvo kan opregne Herrens vældige gerninger, finde ord til at kundgøre al hans pris?
Who can expresse the noble actes of the Lord, or shewe forth all his prayse?
3 Salige de, der holder på ret, som altid øver retfærdighed!
Blessed are they that keepe iudgement, and doe righteousnesse at all times.
4 Husk os, Herre, når dit folk finder nåde, lad os få godt af din frelse,
Remember me, O Lord, with the fauour of thy people: visite me with thy saluation,
5 at vi må se dine udvalgtes lykke, glæde os ved dit folks glæde og med din arvelod prise vor lykke!
That I may see the felicitie of thy chosen, and reioyce in the ioy of thy people, and glorie with thine inheritance.
6 Vi syndede som vore Fædre, handlede ilde og gudløst.
We haue sinned with our fathers: we haue committed iniquitie, and done wickedly.
7 Vore Fædre i Ægypten ænsede ej dine Undere, kom ikke din store Miskundhed i Hu, stod den Højeste imod ved det røde Hav.
Our fathers vnderstoode not thy wonders in Egypt, neither remembred they the multitude of thy mercies, but rebelled at the Sea, euen at the red sea.
8 Dog frelste han dem for sit Navns Skyld, for at gøre sin Vælde kendt;
Neuerthelesse he saued them for his Names sake, that he might make his power to be knowen.
9 han trued det røde Hav, og det tørrede ud, han førte dem gennem Dybet som gennem en Ørk;
And he rebuked the red Sea, and it was dryed vp, and he led them in the deepe, as in the wildernesse.
10 han fried dem af deres Avindsmænds Hånd og udløste dem fra Fjendens Hånd;
And he saued them from ye aduersaries hand, and deliuered them from ye hand of the enemie.
11 Vandet skjulte dem, som trængte dem, ikke een blev tilbage af dem;
And the waters couered their oppressours: not one of them was left.
12 da troede de på hans Ord og kvad en Sang til hans Pris.
Then beleeued they his wordes, and sang prayse vnto him.
13 Men de glemte snart hans Gerninger, biede ej på hans Råd;
But incontinently they forgate his workes: they wayted not for his counsell,
14 de grebes af Attrå i Ørkenen, i Ødemarken fristed de Gud;
But lusted with concupiscence in the wildernes, and tempted God in the desert.
15 så gav han dem det, de kræved og sendte dem Lede i Sjælen.
Then he gaue them their desire: but he sent leannesse into their soule.
16 De bar Avind mod Moses i Lejren, mod Aron, HERRENs hellige;
They enuied Moses also in the tentes, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.
17 Jorden åbned sig, slugte Datan, lukked sig over Abirams Flok;
Therefore the earth opened and swallowed vp Dathan, and couered the companie of Abiram.
18 Ilden rasede i deres Flok, Luen brændte de gudløse op.
And the fire was kindled in their assembly: the flame burnt vp the wicked.
19 De lavede en Kalv ved Horeb og tilbad det støbte Billed;
They made a calfe in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
20 de byttede deres Herlighed bort for et Billed af en Okse, hvis Føde er Græs;
Thus they turned their glory into the similitude of a bullocke, that eateth grasse.
21 de glemte Gud, deres Frelser, som øvede store Ting i Ægypten,
They forgate God their Sauiour, which had done great things in Egypt,
22 Undere i Kamiternes Land, frygtelige Ting ved det røde Hav.
Wonderous woorkes in the lande of Ham, and fearefull things by the red Sea.
23 Da tænkte han på at udrydde dem, men Moses, hans udvalgte Mand, stilled sig i Gabet for hans Åsyn for at hindre, at hans Vrede lagde øde.
Therefore he minded to destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stand in the breach before him to turne away his wrath, least he shoulde destroy them.
24 De vraged det yndige Land og troede ikke hans Ord,
Also they contemned that pleasant land, and beleeued not his worde,
25 men knurrede i deres Telte og hørte ikke på HERREN;
But murmured in their tentes, and hearkened not vnto the voice of the Lord.
26 da løfted han Hånden og svor at lade dem falde i Ørkenen,
Therefore hee lifted vp his hande against them, to destroy them in the wildernesse,
27 splitte deres Sæd blandt Folkene, sprede dem rundt i Landene.
And to destroy their seede among the nations, and to scatter them throughout the countries.
28 De holdt til med Ba'al-Peor og åd af de dødes Ofre;
They ioyned themselues also vnto Baalpeor, and did eate the offrings of the dead.
29 de krænked ham med deres Gerninger, og Plage brød løs iblandt dem.
Thus they prouoked him vnto anger with their owne inuentions, and the plague brake in vpon them.
30 Da stod Pinehas frem og holdt Dom, og Plagen blev bragt til at standse,
But Phinehas stoode vp, and executed iudgement, and the plague was staied.
31 og det regnedes ham til Retfærdighed fra Slægt til Slægt, evindelig.
And it was imputed vnto him for righteousnes from generation to generation for euer.
32 De vakte hans Vrede ved Meribas Vand, og for deres Skyld gik det Moses ilde;
They angred him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was punished for their sakes,
33 thi de stod hans Ånd imod, og han talte uoverlagte Ord.
Because they vexed his spirite, so that hee spake vnaduisedly with his lippes.
34 De udryddede ikke de Folk, som HERREN havde sagt, de skulde,
Neither destroied they the people, as the Lord had commanded them,
35 med Hedninger blandede de sig og gjorde deres Gerninger efter;
But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their workes,
36 deres Gudebilleder dyrkede de, og disse blev dem en Snare;
And serued their idoles, which were their ruine.
37 til Dæmonerne ofrede de, og det både Sønner og Døtre;
Yea, they offered their sonnes, and their daughters vnto deuils,
38 de udgød uskyldigt Blod, deres Sønners og Døtres Blod, som de ofred til Kana'ans Guder, og Landet blev smittet ved Blod;
And shed innocent blood, euen the blood of their sonnes, and of their daughters, whome they offred vnto the idoles of Canaan, and the lande was defiled with blood.
39 de blev urene ved deres Gerninger, bolede ved deres idrætter.
Thus were they steined with their owne woorkes, and went a whoring with their owne inuentions.
40 Da blev HERREN vred på sit Folk og væmmedes ved sin Arv;
Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, and he abhorred his owne inheritance.
41 han gav dem i Folkenes Hånd, deres Avindsmænd blev deres Herrer;
And hee gaue them into the hande of the heathen: and they that hated them, were lordes ouer them.
42 deres Fjendervoldte dem Trængsel, de kuedes under deres Hånd.
Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were humbled vnder their hand.
43 Han frelste dem Gang på Gang, men de stod egensindigt imod og sygnede hen i Brøden;
Many a time did hee deliuer them, but they prouoked him by their counsels: therefore they were brought downe by their iniquitie.
44 dog så han til dem i Trængslen, så snart han hørte dem klage;
Yet hee sawe when they were in affliction, and he heard their crie.
45 han kom sin Pagt i Hu og ynkedes efter sin store Miskundhed;
And he remembred his couenant towarde them and repented according to the multitude of his mercies,
46 han lod dem finde Barmhjertighed hos alle, der tog dem til Fange.
And gaue them fauour in the sight of all them that lead them captiues.
47 Frels os, HERRE vor Gud, du samle os sammen fra Folkene, at vi må love dit hellige Navn, med Stolthed synge din Pris.
Saue vs, O Lord our God, and gather vs from among the heathen, that we may praise thine holy Name, and glorie in thy praise.
48 Lovet være HERREN, Israels Gud, fra Evighed og til Evighed! Og alt Folket svare Amen!
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for euer and euer, and let all the people say, So be it. Praise yee the Lord.
