< Psalms 91 >

1 Ẹni tí ó gbé ibi ìkọ̀kọ̀ Ọ̀gá-ògo ni yóò sinmi ní ibi òjìji Olódùmarè.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, Under the shadow of the Almighty, will tarry,
2 Èmi yóò sọ nípa ti Olúwa pé, “Òun ni ààbò àti odi mi, Ọlọ́run mi, ẹni tí èmi gbẹ́kẹ̀lé”.
Saying of Yahweh—My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I will trust.
3 Nítòótọ́ òun yóò gbà mí nínú ìdẹ̀kùn àwọn pẹyẹpẹyẹ àti nínú àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn búburú.
For, he, will rescue thee, From the snare of the fowler, From the destructive pestilence.
4 Òun yóò fi ìyẹ́ rẹ̀ bò mí, àti ni abẹ́ ìyẹ́ rẹ̀ ni èmi yóò ti rí ààbò; òtítọ́ rẹ̀ ni yóò ṣe ààbò àti odi mi.
With his pinion, will he cover thee, And, under his wings, shalt thou seek refuge, A shield and buckler, is his faithfulness.
5 Ìwọ kì yóò bẹ̀rù nítorí ẹ̀rù òru, tàbí fún ọfà tí ń fò ní ọ̀sán,
Thou shalt not be afraid, Of the dread of the night, Of the arrow that flieth by day;
6 tàbí fún àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn tí ń rìn kiri ní òkùnkùn, tàbí fún ìparun tí ń rìn kiri ní ọ̀sán gangan.
Of the pestilence that, in darkness, doth walk, Of the plague that layeth waste at noonday.
7 Ẹgbẹ̀rún yóò ṣubú ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ rẹ, ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá ní ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ, ṣùgbọ́n kì yóò súnmọ́ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ.
There shall fall, at thy side, a thousand, Yea, myriads, at thy right hand, Unto thee, shall it not come nigh;
8 Ìwọ yóò máa wò ó pẹ̀lú ojú rẹ àti wo ìjìyà àwọn ẹni búburú.
Save only, with thine own eyes, shalt thou discern, And, the recompense of the lawless, shalt thou see.
9 Nítorí ìwọ fi Olúwa ṣe ààbò rẹ, ìwọ fi Ọ̀gá-ògo ṣe ibùgbé rẹ.
Because, thou, [hast made] Yahweh, my refuge, —The Most High, thou hast made thy dwelling-place,
10 Búburú kan ki yóò ṣubú lù ọ́, Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ààrùnkárùn kì yóò súnmọ́ ilé rẹ.
There shall not be sent unto thee misfortune, Nor shall, plague, come near into thy tent;
11 Nítorí yóò fi àṣẹ fún àwọn angẹli nípa tìrẹ láti pa ọ́ mọ́ ní gbogbo ọ̀nà rẹ;
For, his messengers, will he charge concerning thee, To keep thee, in all thy ways;
12 wọn yóò gbé ọ sókè ní ọwọ́ wọn, nítorí kí ìwọ má ba à fi ẹsẹ̀ rẹ gún òkúta.
On hands, will they bear thee up, Lest thou strike, against a stone, thy foot;
13 Ìwọ yóò rìn lórí kìnnìún àti paramọ́lẹ̀; ìwọ yóò tẹ kìnnìún ńlá àti ejò ńlá ni ìwọ yóò fi ẹsẹ̀ tẹ̀ mọ́lẹ̀.
On the lion and adder, shalt thou tread, Shalt trample on young lion and crocodile.
14 “Nítorí ti ìfẹ́ rẹ sí mi, èmi yóò gbà ọ́; èmi yóò pa ọ́ mọ́, nítorí ìwọ jẹ́wọ́ orúkọ mi.
Because, on me, he hath set firm his love, Therefore will I deliver him, I will set him on high, Because he hath known my Name;
15 Òun yóò pè mí, èmi yóò sì dá a lóhùn; èmi yóò wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ nínú ìpọ́njú, èmi yóò gbà á, èmi yóò sì bu ọlá fún un.
He shall call me, and I will answer him, With him, will, I, be, in distress, I will rescue him, and will honour him;
16 Pẹ̀lú ẹ̀mí gígùn ni èmi yóò fi tẹ́ ẹ lọ́rùn, èmi yóò sì fi ìgbàlà mi hàn án.”
With length of days, will I satisfy him, And will show him my salvation.
