< Matthew 20 >

1 “Nítorí ìjọba ọ̀run dàbí ọkùnrin tí ó jẹ́ baálé kan, tí ó jíjáde lọ ní kùtùkùtù òwúrọ̀, tí ó gba àwọn alágbàṣe sínú ọgbà àjàrà rẹ̀.
For the kingdom of the heavens, is like, a man, a householder, —who went forth with the morning, to hire labourers into his vineyard;
2 Òun pinnu láti san dínárì kan fún iṣẹ́ òòjọ́ kan. Lẹ́yìn èyí ó sì rán wọn lọ sínú ọgbà àjàrà rẹ̀.
and, when he had agreed with the labourers for a denary the day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 “Ní wákàtí kẹta ọjọ́ bí ó ti ń kọjá níwájú ilé ìgbanisíṣẹ́, ó rí díẹ̀ nínú àwọn aláìríṣẹ́ tí wọ́n dúró ní ọjà.
And, going forth about the third hour, he saw others, standing in the market-place, unemployed;
4 Ó wí fún wọn pé, ‘Ẹ̀yin pàápàá, ẹ lọ ṣiṣẹ́ nínú ọgbà àjàrà mi, bí ó bá sì di òpin ọjọ́, èmi yóò san iye ti ó bá yẹ fún yín.’
and, to them, he said—ye also, go your way into the vineyard, and, whatsoever may be right, I will give you;
5 Wọ́n sì lọ. “Ó tún jáde lọ́sàn án ní nǹkan bí wákàtí kẹfà àti wákàtí kẹsànán, ó túnṣe bákan náà.
and, they, departed. And, again, going forth about the sixth and ninth hour, he did likewise.
6 Lọ́jọ́ kan náà ní wákàtí kọkànlá ọjọ́, ó tún jáde sí àárín ìlú, ó sì rí àwọn aláìríṣẹ́ mìíràn tí wọ́n dúró. Ó bi wọ́n pé, ‘Èéṣe tí ẹ̀yin kì í ṣiṣẹ́ ní gbogbo ọjọ́?’
And, about the eleventh, going forth, he found others, standing, and saith unto them—Why, here, stand ye, all the day, unemployed?
7 “Wọ́n sì dáhùn pé, ‘Nítorí pé kò sí ẹni tí yóò fún wa ní iṣẹ́ ṣe.’ “Ó tún sọ fún wọn pé, ‘Ẹ̀yin náà ẹ jáde lọ ṣiṣẹ́ pẹ̀lú nínú ọgbà àjàrà mi.’
They say unto him—Because, no one, hath hired, us. He saith unto them—Ye also, go your way into the vineyard.
8 “Nígbà tí ó di àṣálẹ́, ẹni tó ni ọgbà àjàrà sọ fún aṣojú rẹ̀ pé, ‘Pe àwọn òṣìṣẹ́ náà, kí ó san owó iṣẹ́ wọn fún wọn, bẹ̀rẹ̀ láti ẹni ìkẹyìn lọ sí ti ìṣáájú.’
And, when evening came, the master of the vineyard saith unto his steward—Call the labourers, and pay the hire, —beginning from the last, unto the first.
9 “Nígbà tí àwọn ti a pè ní wákàtí kọkànlá ọjọ́ dé, ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan gba owó dínárì kan.
And they of the eleventh hour, coming, received severally a denary.
10 Nígbà tí àwọn tí a gbà ṣiṣẹ́ lákọ̀ọ́kọ́ fẹ́ gba owó tiwọn, èrò wọn ni pé àwọn yóò gba jù bẹ́ẹ̀ lọ, ṣùgbọ́n ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan wọn gba owó dínárì kan.
And, when the first came, they supposed that, more, they should receive, —and, they also, received severally a denary.
11 Bí wọ́n ti ń gbà á, wọ́n ń kùn sí onílẹ̀ náà,
And, having received it, they began to murmur against the householder, saying—
12 pé, ‘Wákàtí kan péré ni àwọn tí a gbà kẹ́yìn fi ṣiṣẹ́, ìwọ sì san iye kan náà fún wọn àti àwa náà ti a fi gbogbo ọjọ́ ṣiṣẹ́ nínú oòrùn gangan.’
These last, one hour, wrought, and thou hast made them, equal unto us, who have borne the burden of the day, and the scorching heat.
13 “Ṣùgbọ́n ó dá ọ̀kan nínú wọn lóhùn pé, ‘Ọ̀rẹ́, kò sí aburú nínú nǹkan tí èmi ṣe sí yín. Kì í ha ṣe pé ẹ̀yin gbà láti ṣiṣẹ́ fún owó dínárì kan.
And, he, answering, unto one of them, said, —Friend! I wrong thee not: Was it not, for a denary, thou didst agree with me?
14 Ó ní, gba èyí tí í ṣé tìrẹ, ki ó sì máa lọ. Èmi fẹ́ láti fún ẹni ìkẹyìn gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti fi fún ọ.
Take thine own, and go thy way; but I please, unto this last, to give, as also to thee:
15 Àbí ó lòdì sí òfin pé kí èmi fún ẹnikẹ́ni ní owó mi bí mo bá yàn láti ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀? Kí ni ìdí tí ìwọ ní láti bínú nítorí èmi ṣe ohun rere?’
Is it not allowed me to do, what I please, with my own? or is, thine eye, evil, because I good?
16 “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn ẹni ìkẹyìn yóò di ẹni ìṣáájú, ẹni ìṣáájú yóò sì di ẹni ìkẹyìn.”
Thus, shall be—The last first, and the first last.
17 Bí Jesu ti ń gòkè lọ sí Jerusalẹmu, ó pe àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ méjìlá sí apá kan ó sì wí pé,
And, Jesus, being about to go up unto Jerusalem, took unto him the twelve [disciples], apart, and, in the way, he said unto them—
18 “Wò ó, àwa ń gòkè lọ sí Jerusalẹmu. Ó sọ fún wọn pé, a ó fi Ọmọ Ènìyàn lé àwọn olórí àlùfáà àti àwọn olùkọ́ òfin lọ́wọ́, wọn yóò sì dá mi lẹ́bi ikú.
Lo! we are going up unto Jerusalem; and, the Son of Man, will be delivered up unto the chief-priests and Scribes, and they will condemn him, [to death],
19 Wọn yóò sì fà á lé àwọn kèfèrí lọ́wọ́ láti fi ṣe ẹlẹ́yà àti láti náà án, àti láti kàn mi mọ́ àgbélébùú, ní ọjọ́ kẹta, yóò jí dìde.”
And deliver him up unto the nations, to mock and to scourge and to crucify, —and, on the third day, he will, arise.
20 Nígbà náà ni ìyá àwọn ọmọ Sebede bá àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ wá sọ́dọ̀ Jesu, ó wólẹ̀ lórí eékún rẹ̀, o béèrè fún ojúrere rẹ̀.
Then came unto him the mother of the sons of Zebedee, with her sons, bowing down, and asking something from him.
21 Jesu béèrè pé, “Kí ni ìwọ ń fẹ́?” Ó sì dáhùn pé, “Jẹ́ kí àwọn ọmọ mi méjèèjì jókòó ní apá ọ̀tún àti apá òsì lórí ìtẹ́ ìjọba rẹ?”
And, he, said to her—What desirest thou? She saith unto him—Bid, that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left, in thy kingdom.
22 Ṣùgbọ́n Jesu dáhùn ó sì wí pé, “Ẹ̀yin kò mọ ohun tí ẹ̀yin ń béèrè, ẹ̀yin ha le mu nínú ago tí èmi ó mu?” Wọ́n dáhùn pé, “Àwa lè mu ún.”
But Jesus, answering, said—Ye know not what ye are asking: Are ye able to drink the cup, which, I, am about to drink; They say unto him—We are able.
23 Jesu sì wí fún wọn pé, “Dájúdájú, ẹ̀yin yóò mu nínú ago mi, ṣùgbọ́n èmi kò ní àṣẹ láti sọ irú ènìyàn tí yóò jókòó ní apá ọ̀tún tàbí apá òsì. Baba mi ti pèsè ààyè wọ̀n-ọn-nì sílẹ̀ fún kìkì àwọn tí ó yàn.”
He saith unto them—My cup, indeed, ye shall drink; but, to sit on my right hand and on my left, is not mine to give, —except unto those for whom it hath been prepared by my Father.
24 Nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn mẹ́wàá ìyókù sì gbọ́ èyí, wọ́n bínú sí àwọn arákùnrin méjì yìí.
And the ten, hearing, were sorely displeased, concerning the two brethren.
25 Ṣùgbọ́n Jesu pé wọ́n papọ̀, ó wí pé, “Dájúdájú, ẹ̀yin mọ̀ pé àwọn ọba aláìkọlà a máa lo agbára lórí wọn, àwọn ẹni ńlá láàrín wọn a sì máa fi ọlá tẹrí àwọn tí ó wà lábẹ́ wọn ba.
But, Jesus, calling them near, said—Ye know that, the rulers of the nations, lord it over them, and, the great ones, wield authority over them:
26 Ṣùgbọ́n èyí yàtọ̀ láàrín yín. Dípò bẹ́ẹ̀, ẹni tí ó bá ń fẹ́ ṣe olórí láàrín yín, ní láti ṣe bí ìránṣẹ́ fún yín ni,
Not so, is it, among you, —but, whosoever shall desire, among you, to become, great, shall be, your minister;
27 àti ẹni tí ó bá fẹ́ ṣe olórí nínú yín, ẹ jẹ́ kí ó máa ṣe ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ yin.
And, whosoever shall desire, among you, to be first, shall be, your servant: —
28 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ọmọ Ènìyàn kò ṣe wá sí ayé, kí ẹ lè ṣe ìránṣẹ́ fún un, ṣùgbọ́n láti ṣe ìránṣẹ́ fún yín, àti láti fi ẹ̀mí rẹ ṣe ìràpadà ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn.”
Just as, the Son of Man, came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom instead of many.
29 Bí Jesu àti àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ ti ń fi ìlú Jeriko sílẹ̀, ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn sì wọ́ tẹ̀lé e lẹ́yìn.
And, as they were going forth from Jericho, there followed him a great multitude;
30 Àwọn ọkùnrin afọ́jú méjì sì jókòó lẹ́bàá ọ̀nà, nígbà tí wọ́n sí gbọ́ pé Jesu ń kọjá lọ, wọ́n bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí í kígbe pé, “Olúwa, Ọmọ Dafidi, ṣàánú fún wa!”
and lo! two blind men, sitting beside the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried aloud saying—Lord! have mercy on us! Son of David!
31 Àwọn ènìyàn sí bá wọn wí pé kí wọn dákẹ́, ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n kígbe sókè sí i. “Olúwa, ọmọ Dafidi, ṣàánú fún wa!”
But the multitude rebuked them, that they might hold their peace. But, they, the more, cried aloud, saying—Lord, have mercy on us! Son of David!
32 Jesu dúró lójú ọ̀nà, ó sì pè wọ́n, Ó béèrè pé, “Kí ni ẹ̀yin fẹ́ kí èmi ṣe fún yín?”
And, standing still, Jesus called them, and said—What desire ye I should do for you?
33 Wọ́n dáhùn pé, “Olúwa, àwa fẹ́ kí a ríran.”
They say unto him—Lord! that, our eyes, may open.
34 Àánú wọn sì ṣe Jesu, ó fi ọwọ́ kan ojú wọn. Lójúkan náà, wọ́n sì ríran, wọ́n sì ń tọ̀ ọ́ lẹ́yìn.
And, moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes, —and, straightway, they recovered sight, and followed him.
