< Matthew 18 >

1 Ní àkókò náà ni àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn Jesu tọ̀ ọ́ wá, wọ́n bi í léèrè pé, “Ta ni ẹni ti ó pọ̀jù ní ìjọba ọ̀run?”
In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
2 Jesu sì pe ọmọ kékeré kan sí ọ̀dọ̀ ara rẹ̀. Ó sì mú un dúró láàrín wọn.
He called a little child to himself, and set him in the midst of them,
3 Ó wí pé, “Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín, àfi bí ẹ̀yin bá yí padà kí ẹ sì dàbí àwọn ọmọdé, ẹ̀yin kì yóò lè wọ ìjọba ọ̀run.
and said, "Truly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Nítorí náà, ẹni tí ó bá rẹ ara rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọmọdé yìí, ni yóò pọ̀ jùlọ ní ìjọba ọ̀run.
Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 Àti pé, ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá gba ọmọ kékeré bí èyí nítorí orúkọ mi, gbà mí.
Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me,
6 “Ṣùgbọ́n ẹnikẹ́ni nínú yín tí ó bá mú ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọmọ kékeré wọ̀nyí tí ó gbà mí gbọ́ ṣìnà, yóò sàn fún un kí a so òkúta ńlá mọ́ ọn ní ọrùn, kí a sì rì í sí ìsàlẹ̀ ibú omi Òkun.
but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea.
7 Ègbé ni fún ayé nítorí gbogbo ohun ìkọ̀sẹ̀ rẹ̀! Ohun ìkọ̀sẹ̀ kò le ṣe kó má wà, ṣùgbọ́n ègbé ni fún ọkùnrin náà nípasẹ̀ ẹni tí ìkọ̀sẹ̀ náà ti wá!
"Woe to the world because of stumbling blocks. For there will always be something to cause people to stumble, but woe to the person through whom the stumbling block comes.
8 Nítorí náà, bí ọwọ́ tàbí ẹsẹ̀ rẹ yóò bá mú ọ dẹ́ṣẹ̀, gé e kúrò, kí o sì jù ú nù. Ó kúkú sàn fún ọ láti wọ ìjọba ọ̀run ní akéwọ́ tàbí akésẹ̀ ju pé kí o ni ọwọ́ méjì àti ẹsẹ̀ méjì ki a sì sọ ọ́ sínú iná ayérayé. (aiōnios g166)
If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life maimed or crippled, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the everlasting fire. (aiōnios g166)
9 Bí ojú rẹ yóò bá sì mú kí o dẹ́ṣẹ̀, yọ ọ́ kúrò kí ó sì sọ ọ́ nù. Ó kúkú sàn fún ọ láti lọ sínú ìyè pẹ̀lú ojú kan, ju pé kí o ní ojú méjì, kí a sì jù ọ́ sí iná ọ̀run àpáàdì. (Geenna g1067)
If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the fire of hell. (Geenna g1067)
10 “Ẹ rí i pé ẹ kò fi ojú tẹ́ńbẹ́lú ọ̀kan nínú àwọn kéékèèké wọ̀nyí. Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yin pé, nígbà gbogbo ni ọ̀run ni àwọn angẹli ń wo ojú Baba mi tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run.
See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
12 “Kí ni ẹ̀yin rò? Bí ọkùnrin kan bá ni ọgọ́rùn-ún àgùntàn, tí ẹyọ kan nínú wọn sì sọnù, ṣé òun kì yóò fi mọ́kàndínlọ́gọ́rùn-ún ìyókù sílẹ̀ sórí òkè láti lọ wá ẹyọ kan tó nù náà bí?
"What do you think? If someone has one hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine, go to the mountains, and seek that which has gone astray?
13 Ǹjẹ́ bí òun bá sì wá á rí i, lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín, ǹjẹ́ ẹ̀yin kò mọ̀ pé inú rẹ̀ yóò dùn nítorí rẹ̀ ju àwọn mọ́kàndínlọ́gọ́rùn-ún tí kò nù lọ?
If he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray.
14 Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́, ni kì í ṣe ìfẹ́ Baba yín tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run, pé ọ̀kan nínú àwọn kékeré wọ̀nyí kí ó ṣègbé.
Even so it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
15 “Bí arákùnrin rẹ bá ṣẹ̀ ọ́, lọ ní ìkọ̀kọ̀ kí o sì sọ ẹ̀bi rẹ̀ fún un. Bí ó bá gbọ́ tìrẹ, ìwọ ti mú arákùnrin kan bọ̀ sí ipò.
"If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.
16 Ṣùgbọ́n bí òun kò bá tẹ́tí sí ọ, nígbà náà mú ẹnìkan tàbí ẹni méjì pẹ̀lú rẹ, kí ẹ sì tún padà sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ lẹ́ẹ̀kan sí i, kí ọ̀rọ̀ náà bá le fi ìdí múlẹ̀ pẹ̀lú àwọn ẹlẹ́rìí méjì tàbí mẹ́ta náà.
But if he does not listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 Bí òun bá sì tún kọ̀ láti tẹ́tí sí wọn, nígbà náà sọ fún ìjọ ènìyàn Ọlọ́run. Bí o bá kọ̀ láti gbọ́ ti ìjọ ènìyàn Ọlọ́run, jẹ́ kí ó dàbí kèfèrí sí ọ tàbí agbowó òde.
If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. If he refuses to hear the church also, let him be to you as an unbeliever or a tax collector.
18 “Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín, ohunkóhun tí ẹ̀yin bá dè ní ayé, ni a dè ní ọ̀run. Ohunkóhun ti ẹ̀yin bá sì ti tú ni ayé, á ò tú u ní ọ̀run.
Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 “Mo tún sọ èyí fún yín, bí ẹ̀yin méjì bá fi ohùn ṣọ̀kan ní ayé yìí, nípa ohunkóhun tí ẹ béèrè, Baba mi ti ń bẹ ní ọ̀run yóò sì ṣe é fún yín.
Again, truly I tell you, that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.
20 Nítorí níbi ti ènìyàn méjì tàbí mẹ́ta bá kó ara jọ ni orúkọ mi, èmi yóò wà láàrín wọn níbẹ̀.”
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them."
21 Nígbà náà ni Peteru wá sọ́dọ̀ Jesu, ó béèrè pé, “Olúwa, nígbà mélòó ni arákùnrin mi yóò ṣẹ̀ mi, tí èmi yóò sì dáríjì í? Tàbí ní ìgbà méje ni?”
Then Peter came to him and said, "Lord, how often can my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?"
22 Jesu dáhùn pé, “Mo wí fún ọ, kì í ṣe ìgbà méje, ṣùgbọ́n ní ìgbà àádọ́rin méje.
Jesus said to him, "I do not tell you up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
23 “Nítorí náà, ìjọba ọ̀run dàbí ọba kan tí ó fẹ́ ṣe ìṣirò pẹ̀lú àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀.
Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who wanted to reconcile accounts with his servants.
24 Bí ó ti ń ṣe èyí, a mú ajigbèsè kan wá sọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ tí ó jẹ ẹ́ ní ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá tálẹ́ǹtì.
When he had begun to reconcile, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.
25 Nígbà tí kò tì í ní agbára láti san án, nígbà náà ni olúwa rẹ̀ pàṣẹ pé kí a ta òun àti ìyàwó àti àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú gbogbo ohun tí ó ní láti fi san gbèsè náà.
But because he could not pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, with his wife and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 “Nígbà náà ni ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ náà wólẹ̀ lórí eékún níwájú rẹ. ‘Ó bẹ̀bẹ̀ pé, mú sùúrù fún mi, èmi yóò sì san gbogbo rẹ̀ fún ọ.’
The servant therefore fell down and kneeled before him, saying, 'Lord, have patience with me, and I will repay you all.'
27 Nígbà náà, ni olúwa ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ náà sì ṣàánú fún un. Ó tú u sílẹ̀, ó sì fi gbèsè náà jì í.
The lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.
28 “Ṣùgbọ́n bí ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ náà ti jáde lọ, ó rí ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀ tí ó jẹ ẹ́ ní ọgọ́rùn-ún owó idẹ, ó gbé ọwọ́ lé e, ó fún un ní ọrùn, ó wí pé, ‘San gbèsè tí o jẹ mí lójú ẹsẹ̀.’
"But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him one hundred denarii, and he grabbed him, and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay what you owe.'
29 “Ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀ náà sì wólẹ̀ lórí eékún níwájú rẹ̀, ò ń bẹ̀ ẹ́ pé, ‘Mú sùúrù fún mi, èmi yóò sì san án fún ọ.’
"So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will repay you all.'
30 “Ṣùgbọ́n òun kọ̀ fún un. Ó pàṣẹ kí a mú ọkùnrin náà, kí a sì jù ú sínú túbú títí tí yóò fi san gbèsè náà tán pátápátá.
He would not, but went and cast him into prison, until he should pay back that which was due.
31 Nígbà tí àwọn ìránṣẹ́ ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀ rí ohun tí ó ṣẹlẹ̀, inú bí wọn gidigidi, wọ́n lọ láti lọ sọ fún olúwa wọn, gbogbo ohun tí ó ṣẹlẹ̀.
So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were exceedingly sorry, and came and told to their lord all that was done.
32 “Nígbà tí olúwa rẹ̀ pè ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ náà wọlé, ó wí fún un pé, ‘Ìwọ ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ búburú, níhìn-ín ni mo ti dárí gbogbo gbèsè rẹ jì ọ́ nítorí tí ìwọ bẹ̀ mi.
Then his lord called him in, and said to him, 'You wicked servant. I forgave you all that debt, because you begged me.
33 Kò ha ṣe ẹ̀tọ́ fún ọ láti ṣàánú fún àwọn ẹlòmíràn, gẹ́gẹ́ bí èmi náà ti ṣàánú fún ọ?’
Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?'
34 Ní ìbínú, olówó rẹ̀ fi í lé àwọn onítúbú lọ́wọ́ láti fi ìyà jẹ ẹ́, títí tí yóò fi san gbogbo gbèsè èyí ti ó jẹ ẹ́.
His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all that was due.
35 “Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ sì ni Baba mi tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run yóò sí ṣe sì ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan, bí ẹ̀yin kò bá fi tọkàntọkàn dárí ji àwọn arákùnrin yín.”
So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you do not each forgive your brother his trespasses from your heart."
