< Jeremiah 21 >

1 Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa sì tọ Jeremiah wá nígbà tí ọba Sedekiah rán Paṣuri ọmọ Malkiah àti àlùfáà Sefaniah ọmọ Maaseiah sí i; wọ́n wí pé:
THE WORD THAT CAME FROM THE LORD TO JEREMIAS, WHEN KING SEDEKIAS SENT TO HIM PASCHOR THE SON OF MELCHIAS, AND SOPHONIAS SON OF BASAEAS, THE PRIEST, SAYING,
2 “Wádìí lọ́wọ́ Olúwa fún wa nítorí Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli ń kọlù wá. Bóyá Olúwa yóò ṣe ìyanu fún wa gẹ́gẹ́ bí ti àtẹ̀yìnwá, kí ó sì yípadà kúrò lọ́dọ̀ wa.”
Enquire of the Lord for us; for the king of Babylon has risen up against us; if the Lord will do according to all his wonderful works, and [the king] shall depart from us.
3 Ṣùgbọ́n Jeremiah dáhùn wí pé, “Sọ fún Sedekiah,
And Jeremias said to them, Thus shall you say to Sedekias king of Juda,
4 ‘Èyí ni Olúwa, Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí, Èmi fẹ́ kọjú idà tí ó wà lọ́wọ́ yín sí yín, èyí tí ẹ̀ ń lò láti bá ọba àti àwọn ará Babeli tí wọ́n wà lẹ́yìn odi jà, Èmi yóò sì kó wọn jọ sínú ìlú yìí.
Thus says the Lord; Behold, I [will] turn back the weapons of war wherewith you fight against the Chaldeans that have besieged you from outside the wall, and I will gather them into the midst of this city.
5 Èmi gan an yóò sì bá yín jà pẹ̀lú ohun ìjà olóró nínú ìbínú àti ìrunú líle.
And I will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, with wrath and great anger.
6 Èmi yóò sì lu gbogbo ìlú yìí, ènìyàn àti ẹranko, gbogbo wọn ni àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn yóò kọlù tí wọn yóò sì kú.
And I will strike all the dwellers in this city, [both] men and cattle, with grievous pestilence: and they shall die.
7 Olúwa sọ pé lẹ́yìn èyí, èmi yóò fi Sedekiah ọba Juda, àti àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀, àti àwọn ènìyàn, àti àwọn tí ó kù ní ìlú yìí lọ́wọ́ àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn àti lọ́wọ́ idà, àti lọ́wọ́ ìyàn; èmi yóò fi wọ́n lé Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli lọ́wọ́, àti lé ọwọ́ àwọn ọ̀tá wọn, àti lé ọwọ́ àwọn tí ń lépa ẹ̀mí wọn, òun yóò sì fi ojú idà pa wọ́n, kì yóò sì dá wọn sí, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì yóò ní ìyọ́nú tàbí ṣàánú wọn.’
And after this, thus says the Lord; I will give Sedekias king of Juda, and his servants, and the people that is left in this city from the pestilence, and from the famine, and from the sword, into the hands of their enemies, that seek their lives: and they shall cut them in pieces with the edge of the sword: I will not spare them, and I will not have compassion upon them.
8 “Síwájú sí i, sọ fún àwọn ènìyàn, ‘Èyí ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tí ó sọ: Wò ó, Èmi ń fi ọ̀nà ìyè àti ikú hàn yín.
And you shall say to this people, Thus says the Lord; Behold, I have set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
9 Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá dúró sí ìlú yìí yóò ti ipa idà, ìyàn tàbí àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn kú. Ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ó bá jáde tí ó sì jọ̀wọ́ ara rẹ̀ fún àwọn Babeli tí ó ń lépa yín yóò sì yè. Òun yóò sá àsálà fún ẹ̀mí rẹ̀.
He that remains in this city shall die by the sword, and by famine: but he that goes forth to advance to the Chaldeans that have besieged you, shall live, and his life shall be to him for a spoil, and he shall live.
10 Mo ti pinnu láti jẹ ìlú yìí ní yà, ni Olúwa wí. A ó sì gbé e fún ọba Babeli, yóò sì run ún pẹ̀lú iná.’
For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good: it shall be delivered into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he shall consume it with fire.
11 “Ẹ̀wẹ̀, wí fún ìdílé ọba Juda pé, ‘Gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa.
O house of the king of Juda, hear you the word of the Lord.
12 Ilé Dafidi èyí ni ọ̀rọ̀ tí Olúwa sọ: “‘Ṣe ìdájọ́ tí ó tọ́ ní àràárọ̀; yọ ọ́ kúrò lọ́wọ́ ẹni tí ó ń ni í lára ẹni tí a ti jà lólè bí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́ ìbínú mi yóò jáde síta, yóò sì jó bí iná. Nítorí ibi tí a ti ṣe yóò sì jó láìsí ẹni tí yóò pa á.
O house of David, thus says the Lord; Judge judgment in the morning, and act rightly, and rescue the spoiled one from the hand of him that wrongs him, lest mine anger be kindled like fire, and it burn, and there be none to quench [it].
13 Mo kẹ̀yìn sí ọ, Jerusalẹmu, ìwọ tí o gbé lórí àfonífojì lórí òkúta tí ó tẹ́jú, ni Olúwa wí. Ìwọ tí o ti wí pé, “Ta ni ó le dojúkọ wá? Ta ni yóò wọ inú ibùgbé wa?”
Behold, I am against you that dwell in the valley of Sor; in the plain country, [even against] them that say, Who shall alarm us? or who shall enter into our habitation?
14 Èmi yóò jẹ ọ ní ìyà gẹ́gẹ́ bí iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ rẹ̀ ni Olúwa wí. Èmi yóò mú kí iná jó ilé rẹ̀; yóò si jó gbogbo ohun tí ó wà ní àyíká rẹ.’”
And I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.
