लूका 2
1 उन दिनों में ऐसा हुआ कि क़ैसर औगुस्तुस की तरफ़ से ये हुक्म जारी हुआ कि सारी दुनियाँ के लोगों के नाम लिखे जाएँ।
But it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census should be made of all the habitable world.
2 ये पहली इस्म नवीसी सूरिया के हाकिम कोरिन्युस के 'अहद में हुई।
The census itself first took place when Cyrenius had the government of Syria.
3 और सब लोग नाम लिखवाने के लिए अपने — अपने शहर को गए।
And all went to be inscribed in the census roll, each to his own city:
4 पस यूसुफ़ भी गलील के शहर नासरत से दाऊद के शहर बैतलहम को गया जो यहूदिया में है, इसलिए कि वो दाऊद के घराने और औलाद से था।
and Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city Nazareth to Judaea, to David's city, the which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
5 ताकि अपनी होने वाली बीवी मरियम के साथ जो हामिला थी, नाम लिखवाए।
to be inscribed in the census roll with Mary who was betrothed to him [as his] wife, she being great with child.
6 जब वो वहाँ थे तो ऐसा हुआ कि उसके वज़ा — ए — हम्ल का वक़्त आ पहुँचा,
And it came to pass, while they were there, the days of her giving birth [to her child] were fulfilled,
7 और उसका पहलौठा बेटा पैदा हुआ और उसने उसको कपड़े में लपेट कर चरनी में रख्खा क्यूँकि उनके लिए सराय में जगह न थी।
and she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him up in swaddling-clothes and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 उसी 'इलाक़े में चरवाहे थे, जो रात को मैदान में रहकर अपने गल्ले की निगहबानी कर रहे थे।
And there were shepherds in that country abiding without, and keeping watch by night over their flock.
9 और ख़ुदावन्द का फ़रिश्ता उनके पास आ खड़ा हुआ, और ख़ुदावन्द का जलाल उनके चारोंतरफ़ चमका, और वो बहुत डर गए।
And lo, an angel of [the] Lord was there by them, and [the] glory of [the] Lord shone around them, and they feared [with] great fear.
10 मगर फ़रिश्ते ने उनसे कहा, डरो मत! क्यूँकि देखो, मैं तुम्हें बड़ी ख़ुशी की बशारत देता हूँ जो सारी उम्मत के वास्ते होगी,
And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I announce to you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people;
11 कि आज दाऊद के शहर में तुम्हारे लिए एक मुन्जी पैदा हुआ है, या'नी मसीह ख़ुदावन्द।
for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ [the] Lord.
12 इसका तुम्हारे लिए ये निशान है कि तुम एक बच्चे को कपड़े में लिपटा और चरनी में पड़ा हुआ पाओगे।'
And this is the sign to you: ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes, and lying in a manger.
13 और यकायक उस फ़रिश्ते के साथ आसमानी लश्कर की एक गिरोह ख़ुदा की हम्द करती और ये कहती ज़ाहिर हुई कि:
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,
14 “'आलम — ए — बाला पर ख़ुदा की तम्जीद हो और ज़मीन पर आदमियों में जिनसे वो राज़ी है सुलह।”
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good pleasure in men.
15 जब फ़रिश्ते उनके पास से आसमान पर चले गए तो ऐसा हुआ कि चरवाहों ने आपस में कहा, “आओ, बैतलहम तक चलें और ये बात जो हुई है और जिसकी ख़ुदावन्द ने हम को ख़बर दी है देखें।”
And it came to pass, as the angels departed from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, Let us make our way then now as far as Bethlehem, and let us see this thing that is come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.
16 पस उन्होंने जल्दी से जाकर मरियम और यूसुफ़ को देखा और इस बच्चे को चरनी में पड़ा पाया।
And they came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger;
17 उन्हें देखकर वो बात जो उस लड़के के हक़ में उनसे कही गई थी मशहूर की,
and having seen [it] they made known about the country the thing which had been said to them concerning this child.
18 और सब सुनने वालों ने इन बातों पर जो चरवाहों ने उनसे कहीं ता'ज्जुब किया।
And all who heard [it] wondered at the things said to them by the shepherds.
19 मगर मरियम इन सब बातों को अपने दिल में रखकर ग़ौर करती रही।
But Mary kept all these things [in her mind], pondering [them] in her heart.
20 और चरवाहे, जैसा उनसे कहा गया था वैसा ही सब कुछ सुन कर और देखकर ख़ुदा की तम्जीद और हम्द करते हुए लौट गए।
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things which they had heard and seen, as it had been said to them.
21 जब आठ दिन पुरे हुए और उसके ख़तने का वक़्त आया, तो उसका नाम ईसा रख्खा गया। जो फ़रिश्ते ने उसके रहम में पड़ने से पहले रख्खा था।
And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called Jesus, which was the name given by the angel before he had been conceived in the womb.
22 फिर जब मूसा की शरी'अत के मुवाफ़िक़ उनके पाक होने के दिन पुरे हो गए, तो वो उसको येरूशलेम में लाए ताकि ख़ुदावन्द के आगे हाज़िर करें
And when the days were fulfilled for their purifying according to the law of Moses, they brought him to Jerusalem to present [him] to the Lord
23 (जैसा कि ख़ुदावन्द की शरी'अत में लिखा है कि हर एक पहलौठा ख़ुदावन्द के लिए मुक़द्दस ठहरेगा)
(as it is written in the law of [the] Lord: Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord),
24 और ख़ुदावन्द की शरी'अत के इस क़ौल के मुवाफ़िक़ क़ुर्बानी करें, कि फ़ाख़्ता का एक जोड़ा या कबूतर के दो बच्चे लाओ।
and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of [the] Lord: A pair of turtle doves, or two young pigeons.
25 और देखो, येरूशलेम में शमौन नाम एक आदमी था, और वो आदमी रास्तबाज़ और ख़ुदातरस और इस्राईल की तसल्ली का मुन्तज़िर था और रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस उस पर था।
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was just and pious, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and [the] Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 और उसको रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस से अगवाही हुई थी कि जब तक तू ख़ुदावन्द के मसीह को देख न ले, मौत को न देखेगा।
And it was divinely communicated to him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he should see [the] Lord's Christ.
27 वो रूह की हिदायत से हैकल में आया और जिस वक़्त माँ — बाप उस लड़के ईसा को अन्दर लाए ताकि उसके शरी'अत के दस्तूर पर 'अमल करें।
And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and as the parents brought in the child Jesus that they might do for him according to the custom of the law,
28 तो उसने उसे अपनी गोद में लिया और ख़ुदा की हम्द करके कहा:
he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 “ऐ मालिक अब तू अपने ख़ादिम को अपने क़ौल के मुवाफ़िक़ सलामती से रुख़्सत करता है,
Lord, now thou lettest thy bondman go, according to thy word, in peace;
30 क्यूँकि मेरी आँखों ने तेरी नजात देख ली है,
for mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 जो तूने सब उम्मतों के रु — ब — रु तैयार की है,
which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples;
32 ताकि ग़ैर क़ौमों को रौशनी देने वाला नूर और तेरी उम्मत इस्राईल का जलाल बने।”
a light for revelation of [the] Gentiles and [the] glory of thy people Israel.
33 और उसका बाप और उसकी माँ इन बातों पर जो उसके हक़ में कही जाती थीं, ता'ज्जुब करते थे।
And his father and mother wondered at the things which were said concerning him.
34 और शमौन ने उनके लिए दु'आ — ए — ख़ैर की और उसकी माँ मरियम से कहा, “देख, ये इस्राईल में बहुतों के गिरने और उठने के लिए मुक़र्रर हुआ है, जिसकी मुख़ालिफ़त की जाएगी।
And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother, Lo, this [child] is set for the fall and rising up of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against;
35 बल्कि तेरी जान भी तलवार से छिद जाएगी, ताकि बहुत लोगों के दिली ख़याल खुल जाएँ।”
(and even a sword shall go through thine own soul; ) so that [the] thoughts may be revealed from many hearts.
36 और आशर के क़बीले में से हन्ना नाम फ़नूएल की बेटी एक नबीया थी — वो बहुत 'बूढ़ी थी — और उसने अपने कूँवारेपन के बाद सात बरस एक शौहर के साथ गुज़ारे थे।
And there was a prophetess, Anna, daughter of Phanuel, of [the] tribe of Asher, who was far advanced in years, having lived with [her] husband seven years from her virginity,
37 वो चौरासी बरस से बेवा थी, और हैकल से जुदा न होती थी बल्कि रात दिन रोज़ों और दु'आओं के साथ इबादत किया करती थी।
and herself a widow up to eighty-four years; who did not depart from the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers;
38 और वो उसी घड़ी वहाँ आकर ख़ुदा का शुक्र करने लगी और उन सब से जो येरूशलेम के छुटकारे के मुन्तज़िर थे उसके बारे में बातें करने लगी।
and she coming up the same hour gave praise to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who waited for redemption in Jerusalem.
39 और जब वो ख़ुदावन्द की शरी'अत के मुवाफ़िक़ सब कुछ कर चुके तो गलील में अपने शहर नासरत को लौट गए।
And when they had completed all things according to the law of [the] Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own city Nazareth.
40 और वो लड़का बढ़ता और ताक़त पाता गया और हिक्मत से मा'मूर होता गया और ख़ुदा का फ़ज़ल उस पर था।
And the child grew and waxed strong [in spirit], filled with wisdom, and God's grace was upon him.
41 उसके माँ — बाप हर बरस 'ईद — ए — फ़सह पर येरूशलेम को जाया करते थे।
And his parents went yearly to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover.
42 और जब वो बारह बरस का हुआ तो वो 'ईद के दस्तूर के मुवाफ़िक़ येरूशलेम को गए।
And when he was twelve years old, and they went up [to Jerusalem] according to the custom of the feast
43 जब वो उन दिनों को पूरा करके लौटे तो वो लड़का ईसा येरूशलेम में रह गया — और उसके माँ — बाप को ख़बर न हुई।
and had completed the days, as they returned, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and his parents knew not [of it];
44 मगर ये समझ कर कि वो क़ाफ़िले में है, एक मंज़िल निकल गए — और उसके रिश्तेदारों और उसके जान पहचानों में ढूँडने लगे।
but, supposing him to be in the company that journeyed together, they went a day's journey, and sought him among their relations and acquaintances:
45 जब न मिला तो उसे ढूँडते हुए येरूशलेम तक वापस गए।
and not having found him they returned to Jerusalem seeking him.
46 और तीन रोज़ के बाद ऐसा हुआ कि उन्होंने उसे हैकल में उस्तादों के बीच में बैठा उनकी सुनते और उनसे सवाल करते हुए पाया।
And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers and hearing them and asking them questions.
47 जितने उसकी सुन रहे थे उसकी समझ और उसके जवाबों से दंग थे।
And all who heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
48 और वो उसे देखकर हैरान हुए। उसकी माँ ने उससे कहा, “बेटा, तू ने क्यूँ हम से ऐसा किया? देख तेरा बाप और मैं घबराते हुए तुझे ढूँडते थे?”
And when they saw him they were amazed: and his mother said to him, Child, why hast thou dealt thus with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee distressed.
49 उसने उनसे कहा, “तुम मुझे क्यूँ ढूँडते थे? क्या तुम को मा'लूम न था कि मुझे अपने बाप के यहाँ होना ज़रूर है?”
And he said to them, Why [is it] that ye have sought me? did ye not know that I ought to be [occupied] in my Father's business?
50 मगर जो बात उसने उनसे कही उसे वो न समझे।
And they understood not the thing that he said to them.
51 और वो उनके साथ रवाना होकर नासरत में आया और उनके साथ' रहा और उसकी माँ ने ये सब बातें अपने दिल में रख्खीं।
And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and he was in subjection to them. And his mother kept all these things in her heart.
52 और ईसा हिक्मत और क़द — ओ — क़ियामत में और ख़ुदा की और इंसान की मक़बूलियत में तरक़्क़ी करता गया।
And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.
