Від Марка 2
1 Коли ж Він по кількох днях прийшов знов до Капернау́му, то чутка пішла, що Він удома.
Some days later when Jesus entered Capernaum again the news spread, "He is in the house";
2 І зібралось багато, аж вони не вміщалися навіть при две́рях. А Він їм виголошував слово.
and at once such a crowd gathered that there was no longer room for them, even around the door.
3 І прийшли ось до Нього, несучи розсла́бленого, якого не́сли четверо.
While he was speaking his message, they came bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four men.
4 А що через наро́д до Ньо́го набли́зитися не могли, то стелю розкри́ли, де Він був, і пробравши, звісили ложе, що на ньому лежав розсла́блений.
When they could not get him near to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof under which he stood, and after making an opening, they let down the cot on which the paralytic was lying.
5 А Ісус, віру їхню побачивши, каже розсла́бленому: „Відпускаються, сину, гріхи тобі!“
Then Jesus, when he perceived their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son your sins are forgiven."
6 Там же сиділи дехто з книжників, і в серцях своїх ду́мали:
But there were some Scribes sitting there who reasoned in their hearts.
7 „Чого Він говорить отак? Зневажає Він Бога. Хто може прощати гріхи, окрім Бога Само́го?“
"Why does this man speak like this? He blasphemes. Who is able to forgive sins but One, God himself?"
8 І зараз Ісус відчув Духом Своїм, що вони так міркують собі, і сказав їм: „Що́ таке ви в серцях своїх ду́маєте?
Jesus clearly perceived at once be the Spirit that they were thus reasoning in their hearts and said to them.
9 Що́ легше: сказати розсла́бленому: „Гріхи відпускаються тобі“, чи сказати: „Уставай, візьми ложе своє та й ходи“?
"Why do you reason thus in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your cot and walk’?
10 Але щоб ви знали, що Син Лю́дський має вла́ду прощати гріхи на землі“, — каже розсла́бленому:
But to let you see that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" -he said to the paralytic-
11 „Тобі Я наказую: Уставай, візьми ложе своє, та й іди у свій дім!“
"I bid you rise, take up your cot, and go home."
12 І той устав, і негайно взяв ложе, — і вийшов перед усіма́, так що всі дивувались і сла́вили Бога, й казали: „Ніко́ли такого не бачили ми!“
The man rose, at once took up his cot, and went out before them all; at which they were all astounded, and gave God glory, saying, "We never saw anything like this."
13 І вийшов над море Він знов. А ввесь на́товп до Нього прихо́див, — і Він їх навчав.
Then Jesus went again to the seaside, and the whole crowd kept coming to him, and he taught them.
14 А коли Він прохо́див, то побачив Леві́я Алфі́євого, що сидів на ми́тниці, і каже йому: „Іди за Мною!“Той устав, і пішов услід за Ним.
As he was passing by he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting in the tax-office; and he said to him, "Follow me." So he rose and followed him.
15 Коли ж Він сидів при столі́ в його домі, то багато ми́тників і грішників сиділи з Ісусом та з у́чнями Його; бо було їх багато, і вони ходили за Ним.
Later on Levi was sitting at table in his house, and together with Jesus and his disciples a number of tax-gatherers and sinners were guests, for there were many of them who used to follow him.
16 Як побачили ж книжники та фарисеї, що Він їсть із грішниками та з ми́тниками, то сказали до учнів Його: „Чому́ то Він їсть із ми́тниками та з грішниками?“
But when some scribes of the Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax-gatherers, they said to his disciples, "Is he eating and drinking with tax-gatherers and sinners?"
17 А Ісус, як почув, промовляє до них: „Лі́каря не потребують здорові, а слабі. Я не прийшов кликати праведних, але грішників (на покая́ння).“
On hearing this Jesus said to them. "It is not the healthy who need a physician, but the sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
18 А учні Іванові та фарисейські по́стили. І приходять вони, та й говорять до Нього: „Чому́ учні Іванові та фарисейські по́стять, а учні Твої не по́стять?“
Now the disciples of Johnand the Pharisees were keeping a fast, and people came to ask him, "How is it that the disciples of Johnand the Pharisees are fasting, but your disciples are not?"
19 Ісус же промовив до них: „Хіба по́стити можуть гості весільні, поки з ними ще є молоди́й? Доки мають вони молодо́го з собою, то по́стити не можуть.
"Can friends of the bridegroom fast while he is still with them?" asked Jesus. "As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
20 Але при́йдуть ті дні, коли заберуть молодо́го від них, — то й по́стити бу́дуть вони за тих днів.
But the days will come when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them; then, on that day, they will fast.
21 І не пришива́є ніхто до старої одежі ла́тки з сукна сирово́го, а як ні, то край ла́тки ново́ї оді́рветься там від старо́го, — і дірка стане ще гірша.
No one ever sews a piece of unshrunk cloth onto an old garment, otherwise the patch tears away from it - the new from the old - and a worse tear is made.
22 І ніхто не вливає вина молодого в старі бурдюки́, а то попрориває вино бурдюки, — і вино й бурдюки пропаду́ть, а вливають вино молоде до нови́х бурдюкі́в“.
And no one ever pours new wine into old wine-skins, else the wine would burst the skins, and both wine and skins would be lost. New wine is poured into fresh wine-skins.
23 І сталось, як Він перехо́див лана́ми в суботу, Його учні дорогою йшли, та й стали коло́сся зривати.
One Sabbath he was walking along through the wheat-fields, and his disciples, as they began to make their way across, were pulling the heads of wheat.
24 Фарисеї ж казали Йому: Подивись, чому́ роблять у суботу вони, чого не годи́ться?“
"Look," said the Pharisees to him, "Why are they doing on the Sabbath Day what is against the law?"
25 А Він їм відказав: „Чи ж ви не читали ніко́ли, що зробив був Давид, як потребу він мав та сам зголоднів був і ті, що були з ним?
He answered them. "Have you never read what David did when he was needy and hungry, he and his men?
26 Як він увійшов був до Божого дому — за первосвященика Авіята́ра, — і спожив хліби показні́, яких їсти не можна було́, — тільки священикам, — і дав він і тим, хто був із ним?“
How he went into the house of God when Abiathar was priest, and ate the consecrated bread, which none but priests may eat, and gave some to his men?
27 І сказав Він до них: „Субота постала для чоловіка, а не чоловік для суботи,
"The Sabbath," he told them, "was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath;
28 а тому то Син Лю́дський Господь і суботі“.
so the Son of man is Master even of the Sabbath."
