1 Тимофію 6
1 Которі слуги під ярмом, нехай уважають панів своїх достойними всякої чести, щоб імя Бомсе не хулилось і наука.
Let as many as are servants under the yoke account their own masters worthy of all honor; that the name of God and his doctrine may not be blasphemed:
2 Хто ж мав вірних панів, ті нехай не гордують ними, бо вони брати; а ще більш нехай служять, що вони вірні і любі, приймаючи благодать. Сього навчай і наказуй.
and let not those who have believing masters, despise them, because they are brethren; but serve them more readily, because they are faithful and beloved by God, partakers of his grace.
3 Коли ж хто инше вчить і не приступає до здорових словес Господа нашого Ісуса Христа і до науки побожної,
These things teach and exhort. If any one teach otherwise, and adhere not to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4 той розгордив ся, нічого не знаючи, а нездужаючи змаганнями та суперечкою, від чого буває зависть, сварка, поговори, лукаві думки,
he is proud, knowing nothing, but is delirious about questions and strifes of words: from which cometh envy, contention, calumnies, wicked suspicions, perverse debates of men corrupted in mind,
5 пусті розмови людей попсованого розуму, що втеряли правду і думають, що благочестє - надбаннє. Відступай від таких.
and void of truth, accounting gain to be godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
6 Велике ж (таки) надбаннє благочестє з самодовольством.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 Нїчого бо не внесли ми у сьвіт, то й ясно, що нїчого не можемо винести.
For we brought nothing into the world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out:
8 Маючи ж їжу й одежу, сим довольні будемо.
having therefore food and raiment, let us be herewith content.
9 Котрі ж хочуть забагатіти, впадають у напасть й тенета і в хотїння многі нерозумні і шкодливі, що топлять людей у безодню і погибель.
But they, that will be rich, fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into ruin and perdition.
10 Корень бо всього лихого срібролюбство; котрого инші бажаючи, заблудили од віри, і себе прибили многими муками.
For the love of money is the root of all evils, which some coveting after have been led astray from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 Ти ж, чоловіче Божий, від сього втїкай; побивай ся за правдою, благочестєм, вірою, любовю, терпіннєм, тихостю.
But do thou, O man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, piety, fidelity, love, patience, meekness.
12 Борись доброю боротьбою віри, держись вічнього життя, до котрого й покликано тебе, й визнав вся добре визнаннє перед многими сьвідками. (aiōnios g166)
Maintain the glorious combat of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which thou hast been called, and hast made a good profession before many witnesses. (aiōnios g166)
13 Заповідаю тобі перед Богом, що оживлює все, і Христом Ісусом, що сьвідкував при Понтийському Пилатї добре визнаннє:
I charge thee before God, who giveth life to all, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed a good confession before Pontius Pilate,
14 додержати сю заповідь чистою, без докору, до явлення Господа нашого Ісуса Христа,
that thou keep this commandment, unspotted and blameless, till the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ;
15 котре свого часу явить блаженний і єдиний сильний Цар вад царями і Пан над панами;
which He will manifest in his own times, who is the blessed and only potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords,
16 один, що має безсмертє, і живе в сьвітлї неприступному, котрого не бачив нїхто з людей, анї бачити не може; Йому ж честь і держава вічна. Амінь. (aiōnios g166)
who alone hath immortality, dwelling in light inaccessible, whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen. (aiōnios g166)
17 Багатим у нинішнім віцї заказуй не високомудроватя, анї вповати на богацтво непевне, а на Бога ясивого, що дає нам усе щедро на втїху; (aiōn g165)
Charge them, that are rich in this world, not to be high-minded nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who richly affords us all things for enjoyment: charge them to do good, (aiōn g165)
18 добре робити, багатитись ділами добрими, охочими на подаваннє бути і подїльчивими,
to be rich in good works, to be ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19 скарбуючи собі добру основину в будущинї, щоб прийняти життє вічне.
treasuring up to themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may obtain eternal life.
20 О Тимотею! хорони переказ, одвертаючись од скверного марнослова і перекорів неправдивого розуму,
O Timothy, keep that with which thou art entrusted, avoiding profane empty babblings, and the oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 котрим деякі хвалячись, у вірі погрішили. Благодать з тобою. Амінь.
which some pretending to, have erred from the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
