< Mateo 27 >
1 Adeɛ kyeeɛ no, asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Yudafoɔ mpanin kɔɔ agyina, hwehwɛɛ ɛkwan a wɔbɛfa so ama Roma aban abu Yesu kumfɔ.
Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
2 Afei, wɔde nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn guu Yesu, de no baa Pilato a ɔyɛ Roma amrado no anim.
and they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him to Pilate, the governor.
3 Saa ɛberɛ no ara mu, Yuda a ɔyii Yesu maeɛ no hunuu sɛ wɔabu Yesu kumfɔ no, ɔnuu ne ho yie. Enti, ɔsane de sika a ɔgye firii asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Yudafoɔ mpanin no nkyɛn no brɛɛ wɔn kaa sɛ,
Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that Jesus was condemned, felt remorse, and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 “Mayɛ bɔne, ɛfiri sɛ, mayi onipa a ɔnyɛɛ bɔne biara ama.” Wɔn nso kaa sɛ, “Ɛmfa yɛn ho. Wo ara wʼasɛm.”
saying, "I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood." But they said, "What is that to us? You see to it."
5 Ɔtoo sika no guu asɔredan no mu, firii hɔ kɔhyɛɛ ahoma.
He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary, and departed. He went away and hanged himself.
6 Asɔfoɔ mpanin no sesaa sika no kaa sɛ, “Yɛrentumi mfa saa sika yi mfra yɛn toɔ a yɛagyeɛ mu. Ɛfiri sɛ, yɛn mmara mma ho ɛkwan sɛ yɛbɛgye sika a wɔde abɔ awudie ho paa.”
The chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, "It's not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood."
7 Wɔdwennwenee ho sii gyinaeɛ sɛ, wɔde sika no bɛtɔ asase bi a wɔtu hɔ dɔteɛ de nwono nkukuo, na wɔde ɛhɔ ayɛ amusieeɛ ama ahɔhoɔ a wɔbɛwu wɔ Yerusalem no.
They took counsel, and bought the potter's field with them, to bury strangers in.
8 Enti na wɔda so frɛ saa asase no sɛ, “Mogya Asase” de bɛsi ɛnnɛ yi.
Therefore that field was called "The Field of Blood" to this day.
9 Yei maa deɛ Odiyifoɔ Yeremia kaa sɛ, “Wɔgyee dwetɛ mpɔ aduasa, ɛboɔ a Israelfoɔ sese hunuu sɛ ɛfata,
Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, "They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the children of Israel priced,
10 ɛnna wɔfiri mu tɔɔ asase firii anwomfoɔ nkyɛn, sɛdeɛ Awurade hyɛɛ me” no baa mu.
and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me."
11 Afei, wɔde Yesu bɛgyinaa Pilato a ɔyɛ Roma amrado no anim. Ɔbisaa Yesu sɛ, “Wone Yudafoɔ Ɔhene no anaa?” Yesu buaa sɛ, “Wo na woaka.”
Now Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus said to him, "You say so."
12 Nanso, ɛberɛ a asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Yudafoɔ mpanin reka nsɛm gu Yesu so no, wankasa.
When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
13 Pilato bisaa no sɛ, “Wonte deɛ wɔreka no anaa?”
Then Pilate said to him, "Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?"
14 Nanso, Yesu anka hwee ma ɛyɛɛ amrado no nwanwa.
He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor was greatly amazed.
15 Na ɛyɛ amrado no amanneɛ sɛ afe biara Twam Afahyɛ no mu, ɔgyaa odeduani baako a ɔman no pɛ sɛ wɔgyaa no.
Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner, whom they desired.
16 Saa afe no mu, na onipa bɔnefoɔ bi a wɔfrɛ no Baraba nso da afiase.
They had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
17 Anɔpa no a nnipadɔm no hyiaa wɔ Pilato ahemfie anim hɔ no, Pilato bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Hwan na mopɛ sɛ megyaa no ma mo, Baraba anaa Yesu, mo Agyenkwa no?”
When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ?"
18 Na ɔnim pefee sɛ Yudafoɔ mpanin no de ɔtan na akyere Yesu ɛfiri sɛ, na wagye edin.
For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.
19 Pilato gu so redi Yesu asɛm no, ne yere soma ma wɔbɛka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Gyaa onipa tenenee no na ɔnkɔ ne baabi ɛfiri sɛ, anadwo yi, mesoo ne ho daeɛ a ɛyɛ hu yie maa me ho yeraa me.”
While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him."
20 Nanso, asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Yudafoɔ mpanin kasa kyerɛɛ ɛdɔm no sɛ, wɔmmisa na wɔnnyaa Baraba mma wɔn na wɔnkum Yesu.
Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
21 Enti, ɛberɛ a amrado no sane bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Nnipa baanu yi mu hwan na mopɛ nɛ megyaa no ma mo?” Na ɛdɔm no bɔ gyee so sɛ, “Baraba!”
But the governor answered them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Barabbas."
22 Pilato bisaa wɔn bio sɛ, “Sɛ saa deɛ a, ɛnneɛ ɛdeɛn na menyɛ Yesu, mo Agyenkwa no?” Wɔn nyinaa bɔ gyee so bio sɛ, “Bɔ no asɛnnua mu!”
Pilate said to them, "What then should I do with Jesus, who is called Christ?" They all said, "Let him be crucified."
23 Pilato bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Adɛn nti? Bɔne bɛn na wayɛ?” Nanso, wɔkɔɔ so bɔ gyee so ara sɛ, “Bɔ no asɛnnua mu! Bɔ no asɛnnua mu!”
But he said, "Why? What evil has he done?" But they shouted all the louder, saying, "Let him be crucified."
24 Afei, Pilato hunuu sɛ ɔyɛ asɛm no ho hwee a ɛnyɛ yie na basabasayɛ reba no, ɔmaa wɔsaa nsuo guu adeɛ mu brɛɛ no, ma ɔhohoroo ne nsa wɔ ɛdɔm no anim kaa sɛ, “Menni saa onipa tenenee yi mogya ho fɔ. Deɛ ɛbɛba biara no yɛ mo asɛm!”
So Pilate, seeing that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, took water and he washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man. You see to it."
25 Nnipadɔm no sane bɔ gyee so bio sɛ, “Ne mogya mmɛgu yɛn ne yɛn mma tiri so.”
All the people answered, "May his blood be on us, and on our children."
26 Afei Pilato yii Baraba firii afiase hɔ de no maa wɔn. Ɔbɔɔ Yesu mmaa wieeɛ no, ɔde no maa Roma asraafoɔ no sɛ wɔmfa no nkɔ nkɔbɔ no asɛnnua mu.
Then he released to them Barabbas, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.
27 Asraafoɔ no de Yesu kɔɔ amrado aban mu hɔ ɛnna wɔfrɛɛ asraafodɔm baa hɔ.
Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.
28 Wɔyii Yesu atadeɛ a na ɛhyɛ no no de batakari kɔkɔɔ bi hyɛɛ no,
They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.
29 ɛnna wɔde nkasɛɛ atentene nwonoo ɛkyɛ hyɛɛ no, ɛnna wɔde dua bi hyɛɛ ne nsa nifa sɛ ahempoma, ɛnna wɔbubuu nkotodwe wɔ nʼanim hyɛɛ aseɛ bɔ gyee so, dii ne ho fɛ sɛ, “Yudafoɔ Ɔhene, wo nkwa so.”
They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, "Greetings, King of the Jews."
30 Wɔtetee ntasuo guu ne so na wɔgyee dua no firii ne nsam de paa nʼapampam.
They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.
31 Wɔdii ne ho fɛ wieeɛ no, wɔworɔɔ batakari kɔkɔɔ a wɔde hyɛɛ no no, de ɔno ankasa nʼatadeɛ no sane hyɛɛ no bio. Afei, wɔde no kɔeɛ sɛ wɔrekɔbɔ no asɛnnua mu.
When they had mocked him, they took the robe off of him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.
32 Ɛberɛ a wɔde no rekɔ baabi a wɔbɔ asɛnnua mu hɔ no, wɔhyiaa ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Simon a ɔfiri Kirene a ɛwɔ Abibirem. Wɔhyɛɛ no ma ɔsoaa Yesu asɛnnua no bi.
As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.
33 Wɔde Yesu kɔɔ baabi a wɔfrɛ hɔ sɛ Golgota a nʼasekyerɛ ne “Nitire So.”
They came to a place called "Golgotha," that is to say, "The place of a skull."
34 Ɛhɔ na asraafoɔ no maa no nsã nwononwono bi sɛ ɔnnom. Yesu kaa nʼano no, wannom.
They gave him wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.
35 Afei, wɔbɔɔ no asɛnnua mu. Ɛno akyi, wɔbɔɔ nʼatadeɛ no so ntonto kyekyɛ faeɛ.
When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among themselves, casting a lot, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: 'They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast a lot.'
36 Afei, wɔn nyinaa tenatenaa ase wɛnee no.
And they sat and watched him there.
37 Wɔtwerɛɛ nsɛm a wɔka guu ne so no bi fam nʼatifi sɛ, “Yesu, Yudafoɔ Ɔhene No Ni.”
They set up over his head the accusation against him written, "THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
38 Wɔbɔɔ awudifoɔ baanu bi asɛnnua mu kaa Yesu ho. Na ɔbaako sɛn ne nifa so ɛnna ɔbaako nso sɛn ne benkum so.
Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.
39 Nnipa a wɔsen faa baabi a wɔbɔɔ Yesu asɛnnua mu hɔ no nyinaa wosoo wɔn ti, dii Yesu ho fɛ sɛ,
Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,
40 “Ɛnyɛ wo na woseɛ sɛ wobɛtumi abubu asɔredan na wode nnansa asi no? Sɛ wo na woseɛ sɛ woyɛ Onyankopɔn Ba ampa ara a, ɛnneɛ siane firi asɛnnua no so si fam ma yɛnhwɛ!”
and saying, "You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross."
41 Saa ara nso na asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Yudafoɔ mpanin bɛdii ne ho fɛ sɛ,
Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, and the elders, said,
42 “Ɔgye afoforɔ, nanso ɔntumi nnye ne ho! Sɛ wone Israelfoɔ ɔhene no ampa ara a, siane firi asɛnnua no so si fam, na yɛnnye wo nni.
"He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.
43 Ɔde ne ho too Onyankopɔn so. Afei, ma Onyankopɔn nnye no! Wanka nso sɛ, ‘Meyɛ Onyankopɔn Ba?’”
He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"
44 Awudifoɔ bi a wɔbɔɔ wɔne no asɛnnua mu no nso hyɛɛ aseɛ dii ne ho fɛw.
The robbers also who were crucified with him insulted him in the same way.
45 Ɛberɛ a wɔbɔɔ Yesu asɛnnua mu no, esum duruu asase so afanan nyinaa firi owigyinaeɛ kɔpem nnɔnmiɛnsa.
Now from noon until three in the afternoon there was darkness over all the land.
46 Ɛbɛyɛ nnɔnmiɛnsa berɛ mu no, Yesu teaam denden sɛ, “Eli, Eli, lama sabaktani?” Aseɛ kyerɛ sɛ, “Me Onyankopɔn, me Onyankopɔn, adɛn enti na woagya me?”
Then at about three in the afternoon Jesus called out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema shabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
47 Wɔn a wɔgyina hɔ no bi ante aseɛ susuu sɛ ɔrefrɛ Elia.
Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, "This man is calling Elijah."
48 Wɔn mu baako tuu mmirika kɔfaa sapɔ bi de bɔɔ nsã nwononwono bi mu de tuaa dua bi so de brɛɛ Yesu sɛ ɔnnom.
Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.
49 Nanso, nnipa no nkaeɛ no kaa sɛ, “Gyaa no na yɛnhwɛ sɛ Elia bɛba abɛgye no anaa.”
The rest said, "Let him be. Let us see whether Elijah comes to save him."
50 Afei, Yesu teaam denden bio gyaee ne honhom mu wuiɛ.
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.
51 Ɛhɔ ara, ntoma a ɛtwa asɔredan no mu no mu suanee mmienu firi soro kɔsii fam. Asase wosoeɛ. Abotan mu paapaeɛ.
And look, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.
52 Adamena so buebueeɛ maa ateneneefoɔ a wɔawuwuo nyanenyaneeɛ.
The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
53 Yesu wusɔreɛ akyi no, wɔfifirii wɔn adamena mu kɔɔ Yerusalem, kɔyii wɔn ho adi kyerɛɛ nnipa bebree.
and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
54 Asraafoɔ a wɔwɔ hɔ no hunuu asase wosoɔ ne nsɛm a ɛsisii hɔ no, wɔn akoma tuu yie, ma wɔkaa sɛ, “Ampa ara, onipa yi yɛ Onyankopɔn Ba.”
Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."
55 Saa ɛberɛ no na mmaa bebree a Yesu ho dɔ enti, wɔdii nʼakyi firi Galilea no gyinagyina akyiri baabi rehwɛ deɛ ɛrekɔ so.
Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him.
56 Mmaa no bi ne Maria Magdalene ne Maria a ɔyɛ Yakobo ne Yosef maame. Na Sebedeo mmammarima no maame nso ka ho.
Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
57 Ɛduruu anwummerɛ no, osikani bi a wɔfrɛ no Yosef a ɔfiri Arimatea a na ɔyɛ Yesu suani no
When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus' disciple came.
58 kɔɔ Pilato hɔ kɔsrɛɛ no sɛ ɔmfa Yesu amu no mma no. Ɛnna Pilato hyɛɛ sɛ wɔmfa amu no mma no.
This man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given up.
59 Yosef faa amu no de nwera kyekyeree ho,
Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 na ɔde no kɔtoo ɔno ankasa ne boda foforɔ bi a wɔatwa mu, piree ɛboɔ kɛseɛ bi hinii ano, ansa na ɔregya hɔ akɔ.
and placed it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.
61 Maria Magdalene ne Maria baako no deɛ, na wɔte nkyɛn baabi rewɛn ɔboda no.
Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.
62 Adeɛ kyeeɛ a ɛyɛ da a ɛdi Twam Afahyɛ no ahosiesie akyi no, asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Farisifoɔ no kɔɔ Pilato nkyɛn,
Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,
63 kɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Owura, ɔtorofoɔ no kaa ɛberɛ bi sɛ, ‘Nnansa akyi no, mɛsane aba nkwa mu bio.’
saying, "Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: 'After three days I will rise again.'
64 Yei enti, ma yɛn ɛkwan na yɛnkɔtare ɔboda no ano nkɔsi nnansa, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, nʼasuafoɔ no ntwa wɔn ho nkɔwia amu no mmɔ no dawuro sɛ wasɔre afiri awufoɔ mu. Na sɛ ɛkɔba saa deɛ a, anka akyire no nnaadaa bɛsene kane deɛ no.”
Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He is risen from the dead;' and the last deception will be worse than the first."
65 Pilato ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Mowɔ awɛmfoɔ. Momma wɔnkɔwɛn.”
Pilate said to them, "You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can."
66 Enti, wɔkɔtaree ɔboda no ano, maa awɛmfoɔ kɔwɛneeɛ sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, obiara ntumi nkɔwura hɔ nkɔwia amu no.
So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.
