Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. When they were completed, he was hungry.
3 Ɔbonsam ka kyerɛɛ Yesu sɛ, “Sɛ wone Onyankopɔn Ba no a, ka na saa aboɔ yi nnane aduane.”
The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."
4 Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Wɔatwerɛ sɛ: ‘Ɛnyɛ aduane nko ara na ɛho hia onipa wɔ nʼasetena mu.’”
Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Humankind cannot live by bread alone.'"
5 Ɔbonsam de Yesu kɔɔ bepɔ bi so kyerɛɛ no ewiase ahennie nyinaa ɛberɛ tiawa bi mu.
And leading him up to a high mountain, the devil showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.
7 “Sɛ wobɛkoto, asom me a, mede ahennie ahodoɔ yi ne emu tumi ne animuonyam nyinaa a wɔde ahyɛ me nsa yi bɛma wo.”
If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."
8 Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Wɔatwerɛ sɛ: ‘Som Awurade, wo Onyankopɔn, na ɔno nko ara na som no.’”
Jesus answered and said to him, "It is written, 'You are to worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
9 Afei, ɔbonsam de Yesu kɔɔ Yerusalem de no kɔgyinaa asɔredan a ɛwɔ hɔ no atifi pɛɛ na ɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Sɛ wone Onyankopɔn Ba no ampa ara a, gyaa wo ho firi deɛ wogyina hɔ to fam!
He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,
10 Ɛfiri sɛ wɔatwerɛ sɛ, “‘Onyankopɔn bɛsoma nʼabɔfoɔ abɛbɔ wo ho ban;
for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;'
11 na wɔabɛsɔ wo na woammɛhwe abotan no so.’”
and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.'"
12 Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Wɔatwerɛ sɛ: ‘Nsɔ Awurade, wo Onyankopɔn, nhwɛ.’”
And Jesus, answering, said to him, "It is said, 'Do not test the Lord your God.'"
13 Ɔbonsam wiee sɔhwɛ no nyinaa no, ɔgyaa no hɔ kɔeɛ ansa.
When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.
14 Yesu sane baa Galilea a na Honhom Kronkron ahyɛ no ma. Ankyɛre koraa ne din trɛɛ ɔman no mu nyinaa.
Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.
15 Ɔkyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔ wɔn hyiadan mu maa obiara kamfoo no.
He taught in their synagogues, being praised by all.
16 Yesu baa Nasaret, kuro a ne mmɔfraase wɔtetee no wɔ mu no mu. Na sɛdeɛ ɔtaa yɛ no, ɔkɔɔ hyiadan mu homeda. Ɔsɔre kɔɔ anim sɛ ɔrekɔkenkan Atwerɛsɛm.
He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 Wɔde Odiyifoɔ Yesaia nwoma hyɛɛ ne nsa na ɔbuee baabi a wɔatwerɛ sɛ,
The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him, and unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written,
18 “Awurade Honhom wɔ me so, na wɔayi me sɛ memmɛka asɛmpa nkyerɛ ahiafoɔ. Na menka nkyerɛ wɔn a wɔwɔ nnommum mu sɛ, wɔbɛnya ahofadie, na anifirafoɔ ahunu adeɛ ama wɔn a wɔbu wɔn animtiaa nso anya animuonyam.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,
19 Honhom no asoma me sɛ memmɛka sɛ, Awurade adom no aba.”
and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
20 Ɔtoo nwoma no mu de maa ɔhwɛfoɔ no na ɔtenaa ase; na obiara a ɔwɔ hyiadan no mu hɔ no hwɛɛ no dinn.
He closed the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 Afei, ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Ɛnnɛ na Atwerɛsɛm no aba mu.”
He began to tell them, "Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
22 Na kasa pa ne adom nsɛm a ɔkaeɛ no yɛɛ wɔn a wɔteeɛ nyinaa nwanwa ma wɔbisaa sɛ, “Ɛnyɛ Yosef ba no ni?”
All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, "Is not this Joseph's son?"
23 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Akyinnyeɛ biara nni ho sɛ mode bɛ yi bɛbu me sɛ, ‘Ɔyaresafoɔ, sa wo ho yadeɛ. Deɛ yɛate afa wo ho sɛ woyɛɛ wɔ Kapernaum no, yɛ bi wɔ wo kurom ha.’
He said to them, "Doubtless you will tell me this parable, 'Physician, heal yourself. Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.'"
24 “Nanso, mereka ama moate aseɛ sɛ, Odiyifoɔ biara nni animuonyam wɔ ne kurom.
He said, "Truly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.
25 Nokorɛ mu, Elia ɛberɛ so no, na mmaa akunafoɔ bebree wɔ Israelman mu. Saa ɛberɛ no osuo antɔ mfeɛ mmiɛnsa ne abosome nsia enti ɛmaa ɛkɔm kɛseɛ baa ɔman no nyinaa mu.
But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.
26 Nanso, Onyankopɔn ansoma Odiyifoɔ Elia ankɔ obiara nkyɛn sɛ ɔbaa kunafoɔ a na ɔwɔ Sarepta a ɛwɔ Sidon no nkyɛn.
Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
27 Bio, saa ɛberɛ no na akwatafoɔ bebree wɔ Israelman mu, nanso Odiyifoɔ Elisa ansa obiara yadeɛ sɛ ɔsahene Naaman a ɔfiri Siriaman mu no nko ara.”
There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian."
28 Nnipa a wɔwɔ hyiadan no mu tee ne nsɛm a ɔkaeɛ no, wɔn bo fuu papaapa.
They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.
29 Wɔde abufuo piapiaa no firii kuro no mu de no kɔɔ bepɔ a wɔn kuro da so no ano sɛ wɔrekɔwɔ nʼatikɔ ama wakɔhwe bepɔ no ase.
They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.
30 Nanso, ɔfaa wɔn mu kɔɔ ne baabi.
But he, passing through the midst of them, went his way.
31 Yesu kɔɔ Kapernaum a ɛwɔ Galilea. Ɔkyerɛkyerɛɛ nnipa no homeda biara.
He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,
32 Ɛha nso ne nkyerɛkyerɛ no yɛɛ nkurɔfoɔ no nwanwa ɛfiri sɛ, ɔkasaa wɔ tumi so.
and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
33 Na ɔbarima bi wɔ hyiadan no mu hɔ a honhommɔne ahyɛ no ma. Ɔhunuu Yesu no, ɔteaam sɛ,
In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he shouted with a loud voice,
34 “Yesu Nasareni, mmɛha yɛn. Yɛne wo nni hwee yɛ. Woaba sɛ worebɛsɛe yɛn anaa? Menim onipa ko a woyɛ. Wone Onyankopɔn Ba Kronkronni no.”
saying, "Ah. What have we to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are — the Holy One of God."
35 Yesu hyɛɛ honhommɔne no sɛ, “Tu firi ne mu kɔ!” Honhommɔne no de ɔbarima no hwee fam na ɛtu firii ne mu kɔeɛ a hwee anyɛ no.
Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him." When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.
36 Nnipa no nyinaa ho dwirii wɔn, na wɔbisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho sɛ, “Asɛm bɛn ni. Onipa bɛn ni a ɔde tumi ne ahoɔden tea ahonhommɔne ma wɔtie yi?”
Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."
37 Deɛ ɔyɛeɛ yi ho asɛm trɛɛ ɔman no mu nyinaa.
News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
38 Yesu firii hyiadan no mu no, ɔkɔɔ Simon efie kɔtoo sɛ huraeɛnini abɔ Simon ase baa. Nnipa a wɔwɔ hɔ no srɛɛ no sɛ ɔnsa no yadeɛ.
He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they appealed to him about her.
39 Ɔkɔɔ deɛ ɔda hɔ kɔgyinaa ne nkyɛn, teaa yadeɛ no ma ɛgyaeɛ amonom hɔ ara ma ɔsɔre maa wɔn aduane diiɛ.
He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.
40 Onwunu dwoeɛ no, wɔde ayarefoɔ pii baa sɛ, Yesu nsa wɔn yadeɛ. Ɔde ne nsa guu wɔn so saa wɔn yadeɛ.
When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41 Ahohommɔne firii nnipa no pii mu firiiɛ a na wɔreteateam sɛ, “Wone Onyankopɔn Ba no.” Nanso, Yesu kaa wɔn anim, hyɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔmmua wɔn ano, ɛfiri sɛ, na ahonhommɔne no nim sɛ ɔno ne Kristo no.
Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
42 Adeɛ kyeeɛ no, Yesu tee ne ho kɔɔ ɛserɛ so baabi a ɛhɔ yɛ dinn. Nkurɔfoɔ no kyini hwehwɛɛ no na wɔhunuu no no, wɔsrɛɛ no sɛ ɔntena wɔn nkyɛn wɔ Kapernaum hɔ.
When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the crowds looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he would not go away from them.
43 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Ɛsɛ sɛ meka Asɛmpa a ɛfa Onyankopɔn Ahennie ho no mekyerɛ afoforɔ nso, ɛfiri sɛ, ɛno enti na wɔsomaa me.”
But he said to them, "I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent."
44 Yesu kyinkyinii Yudeaman no mu kɔɔ hyiadan ahodoɔ mu kɔkyerɛkyerɛeɛ.
And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
