1 Afei, Tirohene Huram somaa abɔfoɔ ne aboɔ adansifoɔ ne nnua dwumfoɔ kɔɔ Dawid nkyɛn sɛ, wɔnkɔsi ahemfie mma no. Afei, Huram sane de ntweneduro nnua a wɔbɛpae kɔeɛ.
And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers unto David, and timber of cedars, with masons and artificers, to build for him a house.
2 Na Dawid hunuu sɛ Awurade de no asi Israel so ɔhene, na ɛsiane Israel enti, wayɛ nʼahennie kɛseɛ.
So David perceived, that Yahweh, had confirmed him, as king over Israel, —that his kingship was exalted, for the sake of his people Israel.
3 Afei, Dawid waree mmaa bebree wɔ Yerusalem, na ɔwowoo mmammarima ne mmammaa bebree.
And David took more wives, in Jerusalem, —and David begat more sons and daughters.
4 Dawid mmammarima a wɔwoo wɔn Yerusalem no ne Samua, Sobab, Natan ne Salomo,
Now, these, are the names of them who were born, whom he had in Jerusalem, —Shammua and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon;
5 Yibhar, Elisua, ne Elifelet,
and Ibhar and Elishua, and Elpelet;
6 Noga, Nefeg ne Yafia,
and Nogah and Nepheg, and Japhia;
7 Elisama, Beeliada ne Elifelet.
and Elishama and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8 Ɛberɛ a Filistifoɔ tee sɛ wɔasra Dawid ngo ama wadi Israel nyinaa so ɔhene no, wɔboaboaa wɔn akodɔm nyinaa ano sɛ, wɔrebɛkye no. Na wɔka kyerɛɛ Dawid sɛ wɔreba ne so, enti ɔno nso ne ne mmarima firii kuro no mu kɔhyiaa wɔn.
And, when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek to secure David, —and David, hearing, went out against them.
9 Na Filistifoɔ no abɛduru Refaim bɔnhwa mu, asɛe hɔ pasaa.
Now, the Philistines, had come and spread themselves out, in the vale of Rephaim.
10 Enti, Dawid bisaa Onyankopɔn sɛ, “Mempue na me ne Filistifoɔ no nkɔko? Wode wɔn bɛhyɛ me nsa anaa?” Awurade buaa sɛ, “Aane, wo ne wɔn nkɔko, na mɛma woadi wɔn so nkonim.”
Then David asked of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And Yahweh said to him, Go up, and I will deliver them into thy hand.
11 Enti, Dawid ne nʼakodɔm kɔɔ Baal-Perasim kɔdii Filistifoɔ no so wɔ hɔ. Dawid teaam sɛ, “Onyankopɔn ayɛ! Ɔnam me so ama mabɔ awura mʼatamfoɔ mu te sɛ nsuyire a ano yɛ den.” Enti, wɔtoo beaeɛ hɔ edin Baal-Perasim (a asekyerɛ ne sɛ “Awurade a ɔbɔ wura mu”).
So they came up in Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and David said, God hath broken forth against mine enemies by my hand, like the breaking forth of waters, —For this cause, called they the name of that place, Baal-perazim.
12 Filistifoɔ no gyaa wɔn ahoni nyinaa hɔ enti, Dawid hyɛ maa wɔhyee ne nyinaa.
And they left their gods there, —and David gave the word, and they were burned up in fire.
13 Nanso, ankyɛre biara, Filistifoɔ no sane baa bɔnhwa no mu bɛsɛee hɔ.
And the Philistines yet again spread themselves out in the vale.
14 Dawid bisaa Onyankopɔn deɛ ɔnyɛ bio. Onyankopɔn buaa sɛ, “Nkɔ tee nkɔto nhyɛ wɔn so. Mmom, fa wɔn ho kɔsi wɔn akyi na monto nhyɛ wɔn so wɔ baabi a ɛbɛn baka nnua no.
So David, asked again, of God, and God said to him, Thou shalt not go up after them, —get thee round, away from them, so shalt thou come in upon them, over against the mulberry-trees;
15 Na sɛ mote nnyegyeeɛ bi te sɛ nnipa bi a wɔrebɔ nsra nan ase wɔ baka nnua no atifi a, monto nhyɛ wɔn so. Ɛno na ɛbɛyɛ nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ a ɛkyerɛ sɛ, Onyankopɔn adi mo anim rekɔka Filistifoɔ no agu.”
and it shall be, when thou hearest a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, then, shalt thou go forth into the battle, —for God will have gone forth before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
16 Enti, Dawid yɛɛ deɛ Onyankopɔn hyɛɛ no sɛ ɔnyɛ no, na ɔkaa Filistifoɔ akodɔm no guiɛ firi Gibeon de kɔsii Geser.
So David did as God commanded him, —and they smote the host of the Philistines, from Gibeon even unto Gezer.
17 Na Dawid edin hyetaa baabiara, na Awurade maa aman no nyinaa suroo Dawid.
And the name of David went forth, throughout all the lands, —and, Yahweh, put the dread of him upon all the nations.
