< Nnwom 120 >
1 Ɔsoroforo dwom. Misu frɛ Awurade wɔ mʼahohiahia mu, na ogye me so.
In my trouble I cried to the Lord: and he heard me.
2 Awurade, gye me fi atoro ano, ne nnaadaa tɛkrɛma nsam.
O Lord, deliver my soul from wicked lips, and a deceitful tongue.
3 Dɛn na ɔbɛyɛ wo, na dɛn na ɛka ho bio, wo nnaadaa tɛkrɛma?
What shall be given to thee, or what shall be added to thee, to a deceitful tongue.
4 Ɔde asraafo bɛmma a ano yɛ nnam ne nnyansramma bɛtwe wʼaso.
The sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals that lay waste.
5 Nnome nka me sɛ metena Mesek, na mete Kedar ntamadan mu!
Woe is me, that my sojourning is prolonged! I have dwelt with the inhabitants of cedar:
6 Matena wɔn a wokyi asomdwoe mu akyɛ dodo.
My soul hath been long a sojourner.
7 Meyɛ asomdwoe nipa; nanso sɛ mekasa a, wɔde yɛ ɔko.
With them that hate peace I was peaceable: when I spoke to them they fought against me without cause.
