< Nnwom 10 >
1 Adɛn, Awurade, na wugyina akyirikyiri saa? Adɛn na wode wo ho ahintaw wɔ amanehunu mmere mu yi?
Why, Yahweh, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 Omumɔyɛfo de ahantan taataa mmɔborɔfo, wɔn a ne nneyɛe mfiri yiyi wɔn no.
Because of their arrogance, wicked people chase the oppressed; but please let the wicked be trapped by their own schemes that they have devised.
3 Ɔde nea ne koma hwehwɛ hoahoa ne ho; ohyira odifudepɛfo na oyi Awurade ahi.
For the wicked person boasts of his deepest desires; he blesses the greedy and insults Yahweh.
4 Ahantan nti omumɔyɛfo nhwehwɛ Awurade; ne nsusuwii mu no Onyankopɔn nsi hwee.
The wicked man has a raised face; he does not seek God. He never thinks about God because he does not care at all about him.
5 Nʼakwan nyinaa mu odi yiye; ɔma ne ho so, na wo mmara mfa no ho; na odi nʼatamfo nyinaa ho fɛw.
He is secure at all times, but your righteous decrees are too high for him; he snorts at all his enemies.
6 Ɔka kyerɛ ne ho se: “Hwee remma minhinhim; mʼani begye daa, na merenkɔ amanehunu mu da.”
He says in his heart,” I will never fail; throughout all generations I will not meet adversity.”
7 Nnome, atoro ne ahunahuna ahyɛ nʼanom ma; Ɔhaw ne mmusu hyɛ ne tɛkrɛma ase.
His mouth is full of cursing and deceptive, harmful words; his tongue injures and destroys.
8 Ɔtɛw bɛn nkuraa no; ofi ahintawee kum nea onnim hwee, ohintaw hwɛ wɔn a ɔrehwehwɛ wɔn ayɛ wɔn bɔne no.
He waits in ambush near the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes look for some helpless victim.
9 Ɔte sɛ gyata a wahintaw; ɔtɛw sɛ ɔbɛkyere mmɔborɔni; ɔkyere wɔn twe wɔn ase de wɔn kɔ ne bon mu.
He lurks in secret like a lion in the thicket; he lies in wait to catch the oppressed. He catches the oppressed when he pulls in his net.
10 Ɔdwerɛw wɔn a ɔkyere wɔn no ma wɔtɔ beraw; na ɔde nʼahoɔden ka wɔn hyɛ.
His victims are crushed and beaten down; they fall into his strong nets.
11 Ɔka kyerɛ ne ho se, “Onyankopɔn werɛ afi; wayi nʼani afi so na onhu.”
He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; he covers his face; he will not bother to look.”
12 Sɔre, Awurade! Ma wo nsa so, Onyankopɔn. Mma wo werɛ mfi wɔn a wonni aboafo.
Arise, Yahweh! Lift up your hand, God! Do not forget the oppressed.
13 Adɛn nti na omumɔyɛfo yi Onyankopɔn ahi? Adɛn nti na ɔka kyerɛ ne ho se, “Ɔremfrɛ me akontaabu so?”
Why does the wicked man reject God and say in his heart, “You will not hold me accountable”?
14 Nanso wo, Onyankopɔn, wuhu amanehunufo haw; na wayɛ wʼadwene sɛ wobɛhwɛ. Mmɔborɔni de ne ho ma wo; wo na woyɛ ayisaa boafo.
You have taken notice, for you always see the one who inflicts the misery and sorrow. The helpless entrusts himself to you; you rescue the fatherless.
15 Bubu omumɔyɛfo ne ɔbɔnefo aprɛw; frɛ no na ommebu nʼamumɔyɛ ho nkontaa, nʼamumɔyɛ a anka wɔrenhu no.
Break the arm of the wicked and evil man. Make him account for his evil deeds, which he thought you would not discover.
16 Awurade yɛ ɔhene daa nyinaa; amanaman no bɛyera nʼasase so.
Yahweh is King forever and ever; the nations are driven out of his land.
17 Awurade, wutie mmɔborɔfo adesrɛ; wohyɛ wɔn nkuran, na wutie wɔn sufrɛ,
Yahweh, you have heard the needs of the oppressed; you strengthen their heart, you listen to their prayer;
18 na wudi ma ayisaa ne nea wɔhyɛ no so, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a ɔdesani a ofi asase mu renhunahuna bio. Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo.
You defend the fatherless and the oppressed so that no man on the earth will cause terror again.
