< Yohane 6 >
1 Eyi akyi no, Yesu kɔɔ tɔnn kotwaa Galilea Po, a ɛyɛ Tiberia Po no.
After these things Jesus went away across the lake of Galilee, that of Tiberias.
2 Esiane sɛ nkurɔfo huu sɛ Yesu nam anwonwakwan so asa nnipa pii yare no nti, wodii nʼakyi.
And a great multitude followed him, because they saw the signs which he wrought on the diseased.
3 Yesu ne nʼasuafo no kɔɔ bepɔw bi so kɔtenaa hɔ kakra.
And Jesus went up into the mountain, and sat there with his disciples.
4 Saa bere no na Twam Afahyɛ no abɛn.
And the passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.
5 Bere a Yesu twaa nʼani, huu sɛ nnipakuw no reba ne nkyɛn no, obisaa Filipo se, “Ɛhe na yebenya aduan ama saa nnipa dodow yi?”
Jesus then lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great crowd was coming to him, saith to Philip, Whence are we to buy bread, that these may eat?
6 Yesu bisaa Filipo saa asɛm yi de sɔɔ no hwɛe, efisɛ na onim nea ɔbɛyɛ.
But this he said to try him; for he himself knew what he was going to do.
7 Filipo buae se, “Ansa na yebetumi ama saa nnipa dodow yi aduan no, ɛsɛ sɛ yenya asram awotwe akatua.”
Philip answered him, Two hundred denaries' worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that each one may take a tittle.
8 Andrea a ɔyɛ Simon Petro nua no kae se,
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith to him,
9 “Abarimaa bi wɔ ha a ɔwɔ brodo anum ne kyenam abien; na eyi betumi aso nnipa dodow yi di?”
There is a lad here, who hath five barley-loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many?
10 Yesu hyɛɛ nʼasuafo no se, “Momma obiara ntena ase.” Asuafo no ma wɔtenatenaa sare no so. Na mmarima a wɔwɔ wɔn mu no dodow bɛyɛ mpem anum.
Jesus said, Make the men lie down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men lay down, in number about five thousand.
11 Yesu faa brodo no bɔɔ mpae na ɔkyɛ maa wɔn. Ɔfaa saa kwan koro no ara so kyɛɛ kyenam no nso maa wɔn.
Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, distributed to those that were lying down; in like manner also of the fishes, as much as they desired.
12 Wodidi mee akyi no, Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mommoaboa aduan a aka no ano na bi ansɛe.”
And when they were filled, he saith to his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain over, that nothing may be lost.
13 Wɔboaboaa aduan a ɛkae no ano no, ɛyɛɛ nkɛntɛn dumien.
So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained over and above to those that had eaten.
14 Nnipa no huu nsɛnkyerɛnne a Yesu ayɛ no, wɔkae se, “Ampa ara, onipa yi ne odiyifo a yɛrehwɛ no kwan no.”
The men therefore seeing the sign which he wrought, said, This is truly the prophet that was to come into the world.
15 Yesu huu sɛ nnipa no ayɛ wɔn adwene sɛ wɔbɛkyere no asi no hene no, ɔtwee ne ho fii wɔn mu kɔɔ bepɔw no so bio.
Jesus therefore, knowing that they were about to come and take him by force to make him a king, withdrew again to the mountain alone.
16 Onwini dwoe no, Yesu asuafo no kɔɔ Galilea mpoano.
But when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake,
17 Wɔtwɛn kosii sɛ ade sae na ɔmma no, wɔkɔtenaa ɔkorow mu se wɔrekɔ Kapernaum.
and having gone on board a boat, were going over the lake to Capernaum. And darkness had overtaken them, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
18 Saa bere no na ahum retu wɔ po so ama po no ani afono.
And as a strong wind was blowing, the waves ran high.
19 Wɔhare kɔɔ wɔn anim bɛyɛ akwansin abiɛsa anaa anan no, wohuu sɛ obi nam po no so reba; eyi maa ehu kaa wɔn kosii sɛ,
When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the lake, and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.
20 Yesu kae se, “Ɛyɛ me, Munnsuro!”
But he saith to them, It is I, be not afraid.
21 Asuafo no pɛɛ sɛ anka wɔde no tena ɔkorow no mu, nanso ntɛm ara ɔkorow no koduu Kapernaum.
Then they were willing to receive him into the boat; and immediately the boat was at the land whither they were going.
22 Ade kyee no, nnipa a na wɔwɔ Galilea po no agya no huu sɛ ɔkorow baako pɛ na na ɛwɔ hɔ, nanso asuafo no tenaa mu kɔe a na Yesu nka wɔn ho.
The day following, the multitude which stood on the other side of the lake having seen that there was no other boat there but one, and that Jesus did not go with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples went away alone,
23 Ankyɛ koraa na akorow afoforo bi fi Tiberia baa faako a Awurade maa nnipakuw no aduan dii no.
(but there came other boats from Tiberias near the place where they ate the bread, when the Lord had given thanks; )
24 Bere a nnipa no huu sɛ Yesu ne nʼasuafo no nni hɔ no, wɔtenatenaa akorow no mu sɛ wɔrekɔ Kapernaum akɔhwehwɛ no.
when therefore the multitude saw that Jesus was not there nor his disciples, they went on board the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
25 Woduu Kapernaum na wohuu Yesu no, wobisaa no se, “Kyerɛkyerɛfo, bere bɛn na wobaa ha?”
And having found him on the other side of the lake, they said to him, Rabbi, when didst thou come hither?
26 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Mereka nokware akyerɛ mo se, ɛnyɛ sɛ muhuu anwonwade a meyɛe no nti na morehwehwɛ me, na mmom sɛ munyaa aduan di mee no nti.
Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly do I say to you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were filled.
27 Monnsɛe mo bere nyinaa mpere nhwehwɛ aduan a etumi sɛe no akyi kwan, na mmom mompere nhwehwɛ aduan a ɛtena hɔ daa a ɛma nkwa a enni awiei a Onipa Ba no de bɛma mo no akyi kwan. Efisɛ eyi nti na mʼAgya somaa me.” (aiōnios )
Labor not for the food that perisheth, but for the food that endureth to everlasting life, which the Son of man giveth to you; for on him hath the Father set his seal, even God. (aiōnios )
28 Nnipa no bisaa no se, “Dɛn na yɛnyɛ na yɛasɔ Onyankopɔn ani?”
Then they said to him, What are we to do, that we may work the works of God?
29 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Eyi ne nea Onyankopɔn pɛ sɛ moyɛ, munnye nea wasoma no no nni.”
Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that ye believe in him whom he sent.
30 Nnipa no bisaa no bio se, “Anwonwade bɛn na wobɛyɛ akyerɛ yɛn ama yɛagye wo adi?
They said therefore to him, What sign doest thou, that we may see, and believe thee? What dost thou work?
31 Sɛ wopɛ sɛ yegye wo di sɛ wone Agyenkwa no de a, ɛno de ma yɛn aduan nni daa sɛnea Kyerɛwsɛm no di ho adanse sɛ, Mose maa yɛn nenanom ɔsoro aduan dii wɔ sare no so.”
Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written, “He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”
32 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mereka nokware akyerɛ mo se, ɛnyɛ Mose na ɔmaa mo nenanom aduan a efi ɔsoro no dii wɔ sare so hɔ no na mmom ɛyɛ mʼAgya. Na afei de, ɔma mo aduan a efi ɔsoro a ɛma nkwa a enni awiei no di daa.
Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Moses hath not given you the bread from heaven; but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.
33 Saa aduan a efi Onyankopɔn nkyɛn no ne onipa a ofi ɔsoro ba asase so na ɔde nkwa brɛ wiase no.”
For the bread of God is that which is coming down from heaven, and giving life to the world.
34 Nnipa no ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Owura, ma yɛn saa aduan no bi nni daa.”
They said therefore to him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35 Yesu kae se, “Mene brodo a ɛma nkwa no. Obiara a ɔba me nkyɛn na ogye me di no, ɔkɔm anaa osukɔm renne no da.
Jesus therefore said to them, I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me will not hunger; and he that believeth in me will never thirst.
36 Sɛnea maka akyerɛ mo no, moahu me nnwuma, nanso munnye me nni.
But I said to you, that ye have even seen, and do not believe.
37 Obiara a mʼAgya de no ama me no bɛba me nkyɛn, na obiara a ɔbɛba me nkyɛn nso no, merempam no.
All that the Father giveth me will come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out;
38 Na mifi ɔsoro baa asase so sɛ merebɛyɛ nea ɔsomaa me no apɛde, na ɛnyɛ mʼapɛde.
for I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 Na nea ɔsomaa me no apɛde ne sɛ mɛhwɛ wɔn a ɔde wɔn ama me no nyinaa so yiye na da a edi akyiri no, manyan wɔn ama wɔn nkwa foforo.
And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up in the last day.
40 MʼAgya apɛde ne sɛ obiara a ɔba me nkyɛn na ogye me di no benya nkwa a enni awiei, na da a edi akyiri no manyan no ama no nkwa foforo.” (aiōnios )
For this is the will of my Father, that every one who looketh on the Son and believeth in him, shall have everlasting life; and I will raise him up in the last day. (aiōnios )
41 Yudafo no tee sɛ Yesu aka se, “Mene aduan a efi ɔsoro” no, wonwiinwii.
The Jews therefore murmured about him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven;
42 Wɔkɔɔ so kae se, “Ɛnyɛ Yosef ne Maria ba ne saa Yesu yi? Ɛyɛɛ dɛn na otumi ka se ofi ɔsoro na ɔbae?”
and they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, one whose father and mother we know? How is it then that this man saith, I have come down from heaven?
43 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Munnyae anwiinwii no.
Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Murmur not among yourselves.
44 Mommma ɛnyɛ mo nwonwa sɛ maka saa, na obiara nni hɔ a obetumi aba me nkyɛn, gye sɛ Agya no a ɔsomaa me no twe no ba me ho, na da a edi akyiri no, menyan no.
No one can come to me, unless the Father, who sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.
45 Adiyifo no akyerɛw se, ‘Onyankopɔn ankasa bɛkyerɛkyerɛ ne mma.’ Ɛno nti, obiara a otie Agya no nkyerɛkyerɛ no ba me nkyɛn.
It is written in the prophets, “And they shall all be taught of God.” Every one that hath heard the Father, and hath learnt from him, cometh to me.
46 Asɛm a maka yi nkyerɛ sɛ obi ahu Agya no pɛn, gye onipa a ofi Agya no nkyɛn no.
Not that any one hath seen the Father, but he who is from God; he hath seen the Father.
47 Mereka nokwasɛm akyerɛ mo se, nea ogye di no nya nkwa a enni awiei. (aiōnios )
Truly, truly do I say to you, He that believeth hath everlasting life. (aiōnios )
48 Mene brodo a ɛma nkwa no.
I am the bread of life.
49 Mo nenanom dii mana wɔ sare so nso wowuwui,
Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.
50 nanso brodo a efi ɔsoro ba no yɛ brodo a obi di a ɔrenwu da.
This is the bread which is coming down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
51 Mene brodo a efi ɔsoro no; sɛ obi di saa brodo yi a ɔbɛtena ase daa. Brodo a mede bɛma obiara a ɔba me nkyɛn no ne me honam a mede ma, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ na wiase benya nkwa.” (aiōn )
I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eat of my bread, he will live for ever. Yea, and the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. (aiōn )
52 Asɛm a Yesu kaa yi maa Yudafo no bo fuwii, ma wobisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho se, “Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na saa onipa yi betumi de ne honam ama yɛn sɛ aduan ama yɛadi?”
The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mereka nokwasɛm akyerɛ mo; moanni Onipa Ba no honam sɛ aduan na moannom ne mogya a, morennya nkwa a enni awiei.
Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Unless ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Obiara a odi me honam sɛ aduan na ɔnom me mogya no nya nkwa a enni awiei, na da a edi akyiri no menyan no ama no nkwa foforo. (aiōnios )
He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath everlasting life; and I will raise him up in the last day. (aiōnios )
55 Me honam ne aduan pa no, na me mogya nso ne nsu pa no.
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
56 Obiara a odi me honam sɛ aduan na ɔnom me mogya sɛ nsu no te me mu, na me nso mete ne mu.
He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 Sɛnea Agya teasefo no somaa me na ɔno nti mete ase no, saa ara nso na obiara a odi me honam sɛ aduan no, me nti ɔbɛtena ase.
As the living Father sent me, and I live by reason of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live by reason of me.
58 Eyi ne brodo a efi ɔsoro bae. Ɛnte sɛ mana a yɛn nenanom dii wɔ sare so na wowuwui no. Saa brodo yi de, obiara a obedi bi no bɛtena ase daa.” (aiōn )
This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as the fathers ate, and died; he that eateth this bread will live for ever. (aiōn )
59 Bere a na Yesu rekyerɛkyerɛ wɔ hyiadan mu wɔ Kapernaum no na ɔkaa saa nsɛm yi.
These things he said in a synagogue, while teaching in Capernaum.
60 Yesu akyidifo no mu pii tee asɛm a ɔkae no, wɔkae se, “Saa asɛm yi de, ɛkyerɛ yɛn adwene. Hena na ɔbɛte ase?”
Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard this, said, This teaching is hard; who can listen to it?
61 Yesu huu sɛ nʼakyidifo no renwiinwii no, obisaa wɔn se, “Asɛm a mekae yi to mo hintidua ana?
Jesus therefore knew within himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, and said to them, Doth this offend you?
62 Ɛno de ɛba sɛ Onipa Ba no resan akɔ ɔsoro, faako a ofi bae no a, dɛn na mobɛyɛ?
What then if ye behold the Son of man ascending where he was before?
63 Onyankopɔn honhom na ɛma nkwa. Onipa ntumi mma nkwa. Nsɛm a maka akyerɛ mo yi yɛ honhom na nkwa wɔ mu,
It is the spirit which maketh alive; the flesh profiteth nothing. The words which I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life.
64 nanso mo mu bi nnye nni.” Efi mfiase no na Yesu huu wɔn a wonnye no nni ne wɔn a wɔbɛtwe wɔn ho afi ne ho no.
But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that did not believe, and who it was that would betray him.
65 Ɔkɔɔ so kae se, “Eyi nti na meka kyerɛɛ mo se obi ntumi mma me nkyɛn gye sɛ Agya no ama no ho kwan” no.
And he said, For this cause I have told you, that no one can come to me, unless it hath been given him from the Father.
66 Esiane saa nsɛm a Yesu kae no nti, nʼakyidifo no mu pii twee wɔn ho fii ne ho na wɔanni nʼakyi bio.
From this time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Yesu huu saa no, obisaa asuafo dumien no se, “Mo nso mubegyae mʼakyidi ana?”
Jesus therefore said to the twelve, Do ye also wish to go away?
68 Simon Petro buaa no se, “Awurade, hena nkyɛn na yɛbɛkɔ? Wo na wowɔ nsɛm a ɛwɔ nkwa a enni awiei. (aiōnios )
Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of everlasting life; (aiōnios )
69 Na yegye wo nsɛm no di na yenim sɛ wone Onyankopɔn Ba Kronkron no.”
and we have believed and known, that thou art the Holy One of God.
70 Yesu kɔɔ so kae sɛ, “Me ara na miyii mo dumien yi, nanso mo mu baako yɛ ɔbonsam.”
Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you twelve? and one of you is a devil!
71 Asɛm a Yesu kae no, na ɛfa Yuda a ɔyɛ Simon Iskariot ba no a ɔyɛ asuafo dumien no mu baako a obeyi Yesu ama no ho.
He spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot; for it was he that was about to betray him, being one of the twelve.
