1 Momma yennyae Kristo mfiase ho nkyerɛkyerɛ na yensua ne ho nsɛm a ɛkɔ anim no. Ɛho nhia bio sɛ yɛbɛkɔ so akyerɛkyerɛ nea enti a ɛsɛ sɛ yenu yɛn ho wɔ nneyɛe a ɛde owu brɛ yɛn ne nea enti a ɛsɛ sɛ yenya Onyankopɔn mu gyidi no ho.
Wherefore omitting the discourse about the first principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us proceed to perfection: not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works,
2 Ɛho nhia nso sɛ yɛbɛkɔ so akyerɛkyerɛ asubɔ, nsa a wɔde gu nnipa so, awufosɔre ne daa atemmu ho nsɛm bio. (aiōnios g166)
and of faith in God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and laying on of hands, and of the resurrection from the dead, and of eternal judgement: (tho' we will do this also, if God permit: ) (aiōnios g166)
3 Momma yɛnkɔ yɛn anim! Na sɛ Onyankopɔn ma kwan a saa ara na yɛbɛyɛ.
for it is impossible that those,
4 Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na wɔbɛsan de wɔn a wɔahwe ase aba ama wɔanu wɔn ho bio? Na anka wɔwɔ Onyankopɔn hann mu. Wɔkaa ɔsoro akyɛde hwɛe, na wonyaa wɔn kyɛfa wɔ Honhom Kronkron no mu.
who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the holy Spirit,
and of the good word of God, (aiōn g165)
6 Nanso ɛno akyi no wɔhwee ase. Enti ɛyɛ den sɛ wɔde wɔn bɛsan aba bio sɛ wommenu wɔn ho, efisɛ wɔresan abɔ Onyankopɔn Ba no asennua mu nam so agu nʼanim ase akyerɛ.
and the powers of the gospel-age, and yet fall away, should be renewed again to repentance: since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God, and make an open example of Him.
7 Onyankopɔn hyira asase a ɛnom osu a ɛtɔ gu so na ɛma afifide yɛ yie ma wɔn a wɔn nti woduae no.
For as the earth, which imbibeth the rain that is frequently coming upon it, and produceth herbs fit for those by whom it is cultivated, receiveth a blessing from God:
8 Na sɛ nsɔe ne nwura hunu fifi wɔ so a, enye mma hwee. Onyankopɔn bɛdome no na wɔde ogya asɛe no.
but that which bringeth forth thorns and briars, is rejected and near to a curse, (whose end is burning) so are they.
9 Nanso me nnamfonom, nsɛm a yɛaka yi nyinaa akyi no, yenim pefee sɛ ade pa bi a nkwagye bata ho befi mo mu aba.
But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak for your caution.
10 Onyankopɔn nyɛ nea ɔnteɛ. Ne werɛ remfi adwuma a moyɛe anaa ɔdɔ a modaa no adi maa no ne mmoa a mode boaa mo mfɛfo Kristofo na mugu so de boa wɔn no.
For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shewn to his name, by having ministred to the saints, and yet ministring.
11 Nea yɛrehwehwɛ ne sɛ mo mu biara bɛboa no mmɔdemmɔ so de akosi awiei sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a mo nsa bɛka ade a mo ani da so no.
And we desire that every one of you would shew the same diligence to acquire the full assurance of hope even unto the end:
12 Yɛmpɛ sɛ moyɛ anihaw. Na mmom, yɛpɛ sɛ yehu mo sɛ agyidifo a mowɔ boasetɔ na mo nsa aka bɔ a Onyankopɔn ahyɛ mo no.
that ye would not be sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience are inheriting the promises.
13 Bere a Onyankopɔn hyɛɛ Abraham bɔ no, ɔkaa nea wahyɛ ho bɔ no ho ntam. Esiane sɛ na obiara nni hɔ a ɔkorɔn sen no no nti, ɔde ɔno ara ne din na ɛkaa saa ntam no.
For when God made the promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself, saying,
14 Ɔkaa ntam no se, “Mehyɛ wo bɔ sɛ, mehyira wo na mama wʼase adɔ.”
"Verily blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee."
15 Na Abraham wɔ ntoboase nti, ne nsa kaa bɔ a Onyankopɔn hyɛɛ no no.
And thus waiting patiently he obtained the promise.
16 Sɛ onipa ka ntam a, ɔde obi a ɔkorɔn sen no din na ɛka saa ntam no de siesie nnipa ntam.
For men swear by a greater Being, and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all controversy.
17 Onyankopɔn pɛɛ sɛ ɔda no adi pefee kyerɛ wɔn a na ɛsɛ sɛ wɔn nsa ka ne bɔhyɛ no se ɔrensesa nʼatirimsɛm, nti ɔkaa ntam de hyɛɛ bɔhyɛ no mu den.
Wherefore God being willing more abundantly to manifest unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it with an oath:
18 Saa nneɛma abien yi na ɛrentumi nsesa na Onyankopɔn ntumi nni ho atoro. Enti yɛn a yɛnam ne so anya nkwa no, wɔhyɛ yɛn nkuran sɛ yenso yɛn anidaso no mu yiye.
that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to fail, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us;
19 Yɛwɔ saa anidaso yi sɛ ɔkra sɛkyɛ. Etim hɔ, na ɛma yɛhyɛn tra ntwamtam no kosi Kronkron mu Kronkron hɔ.
which we have as an anchor of the soul safe and stedfast, and which entereth within the veil.
