< Efesofo 4 >

1 Me a meyɛ odeduani ma Awurade no hyɛ mo sɛ montena ase mma ɛmfata ɔfrɛ a wɔafrɛ mo no.
I therefore, a prisoner for the sake of the Lord, exhort you to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all humility and meekness;
2 Mommrɛ mo ho ase koraa na munnwo; montɔ mo bo ase, na mo ne obiara ntena wɔ ɔdɔ mu.
and with long-suffering forbear one another in love,
3 Mommɔ mmɔden sɛ monam asomdwoe hama so bɛma Honhom biakoyɛ no atena mo mu.
endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace: for there is but one body and one Spirit,
4 Nipadua baako ne Honhom baako na ɛwɔ hɔ, sɛnea wɔfrɛɛ mo kɔɔ anidaso baako,
even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 Awurade baako, gyidi baako ne asubɔ baako mu no.
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 Yɛwɔ Onyankopɔn a ɔyɛ yɛn nyinaa Agya a odi yɛn nyinaa so. Ɔnam yɛn nyinaa mu, na ɔte yɛn nyinaa mu nso.
one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.
7 Yɛn mu biara wɔ adom bi sɛnea Kristo akyɛ ama yɛn.
But grace is given to each of us, according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Eyi nti na Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Bere a ɔforo kɔɔ ɔsoro no, ɔfaa nneduafo kaa ne ho; na ɔmaa nnipa akyɛde.”
Wherefore it is said, "When he ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."
9 Afei sɛ “ɔkɔɔ ɔsoro” no nkyerɛase ne dɛn? Ase kyerɛ sɛ, nea edi kan no, ɔkɔɔ fam wɔ asase ase pɛɛ.
Now this expression "He ascended" what does it mean, but that He descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 Enti nea ɔkɔɔ fam no ara na ɔkɔɔ ɔsoro a ɛboro wim nyinaa so, sɛnea ɔbɛhyɛ abɔde nyinaa ma.
He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.
11 Ɔno na ɔmaa ebinom yɛɛ asomafo, afoforo yɛɛ adiyifo, afoforo yɛɛ asɛmpakafo, na afoforo nso yɛɛ asɔfo ne akyerɛkyerɛfo.
And therefore He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; to qualify holy men for the work of the ministry,
12 Ɔyɛɛ eyi de siesiee Onyankopɔn nkurɔfo nyinaa maa ɔsom nnwuma, sɛnea Kristo nipadua no nyin bɛkɔ so
to the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 kosi sɛ yɛn nyinaa benya gyidi baako ne Onyankopɔn Ba no ho nimdeɛ baako, na yɛawie nyin wɔ Kristo mayɛ mu.
till we all arrive in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, at perfect maturity, even to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
14 Yɛrenyɛ mmofra bio, wɔn a asorɔkye bɔ wɔn kɔ nea ɛpɛ, na nkyerɛkyerɛ mframa biara de wɔn di akɔneaba na bradatofo ne aniferefo daadaa wɔn.
That we may be no longer children fluctuating and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the artful insinuations of men, and their crafty methods of deceiving;
15 Mmom, sɛ yɛtena ase nokware ne ɔdɔ honhom mu a, yebenyin wɔ Kristo a ɔyɛ asafo no Ti no mu.
but holding the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him, who is the head, even Christ:
16 Ne mu na honam akwaa ahorow no suso wɔn ho wɔn ho mu. Ne mu na obiara yɛ nʼadwuma, na nipadua no nyin ahoɔden so wɔ ɔdɔ mu.
from whom the whole body being fitly joined together and compacted by the aid of every joint, according to the operation proportioned to every part, maketh an increase to the edification of itself in love.
17 Mede Awurade din bɔ mo kɔkɔ se monntena ase bio sɛ amanamanmufo a wonni adwene pa bi,
This I say therefore, and charge you in the name of the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk,
18 na sum aduru wɔn ntease. Wonnim hwee na wɔyɛ asoɔden. Wonnim Onyankopɔn mu asetena na wonni nkatede ma nea ɛteɛ.
in the vanity of their mind, darkened in their understanding, and alienated from the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, by reason of the hardness of their heart:
19 Wɔn ani nwu hwee. Wɔagyaa wɔn ho ama bɔne na wɔyɛ afide ahorow nyinaa bi a wonnu wɔn ho.
who, being past feeling, have given themselves up to lasciviousness, to commit all uncleanness with greediness.
20 Ɛnyɛ saa na musua faa Kristo ho.
But ye have not so learned Christ;
21 Ɛyɛ nokware sɛ motee ne nka, na wɔkyerɛkyerɛɛ mo sɛnea nokware a ɛwɔ Yesu mu no te.
if ye have indeed hearkened to Him, and been instructed in Him, as the truth is in Jesus; to put off the old man,
22 Enti montwe mo ho mfi mo suban dedaw no a akɔnnɔ bɔne ama aporɔw no ho.
which according to your former conversation was corrupted with deceitful lusts,
23 Momma Honhom no nyɛ mo koma ne mo adwene foforo,
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 na montena ase wɔ suban foforo a wɔbɔɔ no Onyankopɔn sɛso wɔ treneeyɛ ne kronkronyɛ mu no.
and to put on the new man, which according to the image of God is created in righteousness, and true holiness.
25 Munnni atoro nkyerɛ mo ho mo ho. Obiara nni nokware nkyerɛ ne nua, efisɛ, yɛn nyinaa yɛ nnipa baako wɔ Kristo nipadua mu.
Wherefore putting away lying, speak ye every one truth to his neighbor; for we are all members of one society.
26 Sɛ mo bo fuw a, monnyɛ bɔne. Mommma owia nkɔtɔ mo abufuw so.
Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath;
27 Mma ɔbonsam kwan.
and give not the devil room to ensnare you.
28 Ɛsɛ sɛ obi a ɔbɔ korɔn no gyae akrɔmmɔ. Obiara nyɛ adwuma na moatumi aboa afoforo.
Let him that stole steal no more; but rather let him labour, doing some good with his hands, that he may have something to bestow on him that hath need of it.
29 Mma kasa bɔne mfi wʼanom, na mmom ka kasa pa na aboa afoforo sɛnea ehia wɔn na wɔn a wotie anya so mfaso.
Let no corrupt word come out of your mouth; but what is good to useful edification, that it may benefit the hearers.
30 Monnhow Onyankopɔn Honhom Kronkron a wɔnam so asɔw mo ano ama ogyeda no werɛ.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God whereby ye are sealed to the day of redemption.
31 Munyi yawdi, bobɔne ne abufuw, ahohoahoa ne nseku ne bɔnepɛ nyinaa mfi mo mu.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and fury, and clamor, and calumny, be put away from you, with all malice: and be kind one to another,
32 Monyɛ ayamye mma mo ho mo ho, mo yam nhyehye mo mma mo ho mo ho, na momfa mo mfomso nkyekyɛkyekyɛ mo ho mo ho sɛnea Onyankopɔn nam Kristo so de mo bɔne kyɛɛ mo no.
tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgiveth you.
