< Daniel 11 >
1 Na Mediani Dario ahenni afe a edi kan no, misii gyinae sɛ megyina nʼakyi na mabɔ ne ho ban.)
I, therefore, in the first year of Darius the Mede, was at my station to strengthen and embolden him;
2 “Na afei, mɛka mu nokware akyerɛ wo: ahemfo baasa bɛsɔre wɔ Persia, wɔn akyi no, nea ɔto so anan a obenya ne ho akyɛn nkae no bɛsɔre. Ɔde nʼahonya mu ahoɔden behwanyan obiara atia Hela ahenni.
and, now, the truth, I will tell thee: —Lo! there are, yet three kings, to arise—belonging to Persia, and, the fourth, will amass greater riches than they all, and, when he hath strengthened himself in his riches, the whole, will stir up, the kingdom of Greece.
3 Afei ɔhene kɛse bi bɛsɔre wɔ tumi mu a ɔbɛyɛ nea ɔpɛ.
And so a hero king, will arise, —and wield great authority, and do according to his own pleasure;
4 Ne ba no akyi, wɔbɛkyekyɛ nʼaheman no mu anan. Ɛrenkɔ nʼasefo nkyɛn, na ɔrennya tumi a na ɔwɔ no, efisɛ wobetutu nʼaheman no ase de ama afoforo.
but, when he hath arisen, his kingdom, shall be broken in pieces, and be divided, toward the four winds of the heavens, —but not to his own posterity, nor according to his own authority which he wielded, for his kingdom, shall be uprooted, even for others besides these.
5 “Ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam no bɛyɛ den, nanso nʼasafohene no mu baako bɛyɛ den asen no na ɔde tumi a ɛyɛ den bedi ahemman no so.
But a king of the south, will become strong, even from among his rulers, —and will prevail against him, and have authority, a great authority, shall his authority be.
6 Mfe bi akyi no, wɔbɛyɛ ayɔnko. Ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam no babea bɛkɔ ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam no nkyɛn akɔyɛ nnamfofa apam; nanso ɔbabea no renkura ne tumi mu bio, na ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam ne ne tumi nso rennyina. Saa mmere no mu no, wobeyi ɔhene babea, adehye a wɔka ne ho, nʼagya ne nea ogyinaa nʼakyi nyinaa no ama.
And, at the end of years, they will league together, yea, the daughter of the king of the south, will go in unto the king of the north, to make peace, but she shall not retain strength of arm, neither shall he stand, nor his arm, but she shall be delivered up—she herself, and they who brought her in, and he who begat her, and he that strengthened her in the times.
7 “Obi a ofi anafo fam babea abusua mu bɛsɔre asi nʼanan mu. Na ɔde dɔm bɛba abɛhyɛn ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam aban no mu na ɔne wɔn ako na wadi wɔn so nkonim.
But one will stand up from the sprout of her roots, [in] his stead, —and he will enter the army, and enter into a fortress of the king of the north, and deal with them and shew himself strong;
8 Ɔbɛfa wɔn anyame, ahoni a wɔde dade ayɛ ne wɔn ademude a wɔde dwetɛ ne sikakɔkɔɔ ayɛ akɔ Misraim. Na mfe bi mu no, ɔbɛtwe ne ho afi ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam no ho.
yea, even their gods, with their molten images, with their delightful vessels of silver and gold, with a host of captives, will he bring into Egypt, —and, he, will stand more, years, than the king of the north;
9 Afei ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam no bɛtow ahyɛ ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam no so, nanso ɔbɛsan nʼakyi akɔ nʼankasa asase so.
so will the king of the south, enter into the kingdom, and then return unto his own soil.
10 Ne mmabarima besiesie wɔn ho ama ɔko na wɔde asraafo dɔm kɛse bɛkɔ te sɛ asu a ayiri, akɔko ara akodu atamfo no aban no ho.
But, his sons, will rouse themselves to war, and gather together a multitude of large armies, but he will come on and on, and overflow and pass through, —and will return and wage war, up to his fortress.
11 “Afei ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam no de abufuw kɛse bɛsɔre na wako atia ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam a ɔno nso wɔ asraafo dɔm kɛse, na obedi wɔn so nkonim.
Then will the king of the south, be enraged, and go forth and fight with him, with the king of the north, —and will raise a great multitude, but the multitude, will be delivered, into his hand.
12 Sɛ wɔde asraafo no kɔ a, ahantan bɛhyɛ anafo fam hene no ma, na obekunkum mpempem, nanso ne nkonimdi no renkyɛ.
And, when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart, will be uplifted, —and he will cause tens of thousands to fall, but will not conquer.
13 Ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam nso bɛboa asraafo afoforo a wɔdɔɔso sen kan de no, na mfirihyia bebree akyi no, ɔde asraafo dɔm kɛse a wɔwɔ akode betu ɔsa.
Then will the king of the north again raise a multitude, greater than the first, —and, at the end of the times—some years, he will come on and on with a great army, and with great substance.
14 “Saa mmere no mu, bebree bɛsɔre atia ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam. Wɔn a wodi akakabensɛm wɔ wʼankasa wo nkurɔfo mu no bɛtew atua sɛnea ɛte wɔ anisoadehu no mu no, nanso wɔrenni nkonim.
And, in those times, many, will rise against the king of the south, —and, the sons of the oppressors of thy people, will exalt themselves to confirm the vision, but will be overthrown.
15 Afei ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam no bɛba abesisi mpie na ɔbɛko agye kuropɔn a wɔagye ho ban no. Asraafo a wɔwɔ anafo fam no rennya ahoɔden nko, na wɔn a wɔyɛ den wɔ wɔn mu no mpo rentumi nnyina ɔko no ano.
Then will come in the king of the north, and cast up a rampart, and capture a city of strongholds, —and, the arms of the south, will not rise, nor the people of his chosen ones, and there shall be no strength to rise.
16 Ɔfowni no bɛyɛ nea ɔpɛ na obiara rentumi nnyina nʼanim. Obegye Asase Fɛɛfɛ no abɔ so, na obenya tumi a ɔde bɛsɛe no.
So shall he that cometh against him do according to his own pleasure, and, none, shall stand before him, —therefore will he take his stand in the beautiful land, and it will languish and be exhausted in his hand.
17 Ɔbɛyɛ nʼadwene sɛ ɔde ahoɔden a ɔwɔ wɔ nʼahenni no mu nyinaa bɛba, na afei ɔne ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam no akɔyɛ nnamfofa apam. Ɔde ne babea bɛma no aware, na ɔnam so agu nʼahenni no, nanso nʼatirimpɔw yi renyɛ yiye na ɛremmoa no.
Then will he set his face to enter, with the might of all his kingdom, and, equitable terms with him, will make, —and, a daughter of women, will he give him to corrupt her, but she will not remain, nor, his, shall she become.
18 Afei ɔde nʼani bɛkyerɛ mpoano aman so, na wadi mu bebree so nkonim, nanso, ɔsahene bi de ɔhene yi ahomaso bɛba awiei na wadan abɔ no.
Then will he turn his face to the Coastlands, and will capture many, —but a commander, will bring to an end, his reproach against himself, that, his reproach, return not unto him.
19 Eyi akyi no, ɔde nʼani bɛkyerɛ aban a ɛwɔ nʼasase so no, nanso obehintiw ahwe ase, na wɔrenhu no bio.
Therefore will he turn his face towards the fortresses of his land, —but he shall stagger and fall, and shall not be found.
20 “Nea obedi nʼade no bɛsoma towgyeni, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a obenya nea ɛbɛma nʼahenni no anuonyam atena hɔ. Mfirihyia kakra bi akyi no, wɔbɛsɛe no; nanso ɛremfi abufuw anaa ɔko mu.
Then will rise up in his stead, one causing an exactor to pass through the ornament of the kingdom, —but, in a few days, shall he be broken in pieces, not with anger, nor in battle.
21 “Obi a wommu no na ɔnyɛ ɔdehye na obedi nʼade. Ɔbɛtow ahyɛ ahenni no so bere a so nnipa no asom adwo wɔn, na ɔde nnaadaa agye.
Then will rise up in his stead, one despised, and they will not lay upon him the dignity of the kingdom, —but he will come in unexpectedly, and strengthen the kingdom by flatteries;
22 Afei ɔbɛtɔre asraafo dɔm a wontumi nkan wɔn dodow no ase. Wɔbɛsɛe asraafo no ne ɔhenebabarima a ɔhyɛ bɔhyɛ no ase no.
and, the arms of an overflowing flood, will sweep all before him, and they shall be broken in pieces, —moreover also, the prince of a covenant;
23 Wɔne no yɛ apam wie a, ɔnam nnaadaa kwan so benya nnipa kakraa bi na wapere tumi.
and, by reason of the leaguing against him, he will work deceitfully, and will come up and become strong, with a small nation.
24 Sɛ amantam a wɔyɛ adefo no te nka sɛ wɔn asom adwo wɔn a, ɔbɛtow ahyɛ wɔn so, na nea nʼagyanom ne ne nenanom antumi anyɛ no, ɔbɛyɛ. Ɔbɛkyekyɛ asade ne ahonyade ama nʼakyidifo. Ɔbɛbɔ pɔw atu aban agu, nanso ɛbɛyɛ nna tiaa bi mu.
Unexpectedly, even into the rich places of the province, will he enter, and will do what neither his fathers nor his father’s fathers had done, prey and spoil and substance—among them, will he scatter, —and, against strongholds, will he devise plots even until a (convenient) time.
25 “Obenya asraafo dɔm kɛse na wanya ahoɔden ne akokoduru asɔre atia ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam. Ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam no de asraafo a wɔdɔɔso na wɔyɛ den betu ɔsa, nanso ɔrentumi nnyina, esiane pɔw ahorow a wɔabɔ de atia no nti.
Then will he stir up his strength and his heart, against the king of the south, with a great army, and, the king of the south, will wage war, with a great and exceedingly mighty army, —but will make no stand, for they will devise against him plots;
26 Wɔn a ɔhene bɔ wɔn akɔnhama no bɛbɔ mmɔden sɛ wobehuan nʼase antweri; wobetwiw afa ɔhene no asraafo no so, na bebree nso bɛtotɔ wɔ ɔko mu.
and, they who have been eating his delicacies, will break him in pieces, and, his army, will he overwhelm like a flood, —and many wounded, will fall.
27 Ahemfo baanu a bɔne adi wɔn ti mu dɛm bɛtena ɔpon baako ho, adi atoro akyerɛ wɔn ho wɔn ho, nanso ɛrenkosi hwee, efisɛ awiei no bɛba ne bere a wɔahyɛ no.
Now, as for the two kings, their heart, will be set on acting wickedly, and, at one table, will they speak, falsehood, —but it shall not succeed, for yet is the end for an appointed time.
28 Ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam no de ahonyade bebree bɛsan akɔ ne man mu, nanso ne koma rempɛ apam kronkron no. Ɔbɛyɛ biribi atia apam kronkron no na wasan akɔ ne man mu.
So then he will return to his own land, with great substance, with, his heart, set upon a holy covenant; yea he will act with effect, and return to his own land.
29 “Bere a wɔahyɛ no du a, ɔbɛtow ahyɛ anafo aman no so bio, nanso saa bere yi de, ɛrenyɛ yiye mma no sɛ kan no.
At the appointed time, will he again enter the south, —but it shall not be like the former, nor like the latter.
30 Ahyɛn a wofi aman a ɛwɔ mpoano wɔ atɔe fam no bɛko atia no, na nʼabasa mu bebu. Enti ɔbɛsan nʼakyi na ɔde nʼabufuw akowie apam kronkron no so, na ɔne wɔn a wɔpo apam kronkron no bɛyɛ baako.
Then will come in against him the ships of Cyprus, and he will be disheartened, and again have indignation against a holy covenant, and will act with effect, —and again gain intelligence, concerning them who are forsaking a holy covenant.
31 “Na nʼasraafo bɛsɔre. Wobegu asɔredan no aban ho fi, na wɔagu daa daa afɔrebɔ no. Wɔde abusude a ɛde ɔsɛe ba besi anan mu.
And, arms, from him, will arise, —and will profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and will set aside the continual [ascending-sacrifice], and place the horrid abomination that astoundeth.
32 Ɔde nnaadaa bɛkɔ so asɛe wɔn a wobu apam no so, nanso wɔn a wonim wɔn Nyankopɔn no bɛsɔre atia no denneennen.
And, them who are ready to deal lawlessly with a covenant, will he make impious by flatteries, —but, the people who know their God, will be strong and act with effect.
33 “Anyansafo bɛkyerɛkyerɛ bebree, nanso bere bi mu no, wɔbɛtotɔ wɔ afoa ano, wɔbɛhyew wɔn, wɔbɛfa wɔn nnommum anaa wɔbɛfom wɔn nneɛma.
And, they who make the people wise, will impart understanding to the many, —yet shall they be brought low, by sword and by flame, by captivity and by prey, for some days;
34 Sɛ wɔhwe ase a, wobenya mmoa kakra, na bebree a wonni nokware bɛkɔ akɔdɔm wɔn.
but, when they are brought low, they shall be helped with a little help, —and many, will join themselves unto them, by flatteries;
35 Anyansafo no mu bi behintihintiw. Ɛnam so bɛma wɔasiesie wɔn, ahohoro wɔn ho fi na wɔayɛ wɔn a wɔn ho nni nkekae akosi awiei bere no, efisɛ ɛbɛba bere a wɔahyɛ no.
and, of them who make wise, some shall be brought low, to refine them, and to purify and make white, up to the time of the end, —for yet is it for an appointed time.
36 “Ɔhene no bɛyɛ nea ɔpɛ, ɔbɛma ne ho so, ayɛ ne ho ɔkɛse asen onyame biara, na waka nea obi ntee da afa anyame mu Nyame no ho. Obenya nkɔso akosi sɛ abufuw bere no bɛba awiei, efisɛ ɛsɛ sɛ nea wɔahyɛ ato hɔ no ba mu.
And the king, will do according to his own pleasure, and will exalt himself, and magnify himself against every GOD, yea, against the GOD of GODS, will he speak wonderful things, —and will succeed, until exhausted is the indignation, for, what is decreed, must be done;
37 Obebu nʼagyanom anyame animtiaa. Ɔremfa mmea no nyame a wɔdɔ no anaa onyame foforo biara nyɛ hwee, na mmom ɔbɛma ne ho so aboro wɔn nyinaa so.
and, for the god of his fathers, will he have no regard, nor, for the delight of women, nor for any god, will he have regard, —for, against all, will he magnify himself.
38 Ɔde aban no nyame, nyame a nʼagyanom nnim besi wɔn anan mu; ɔde sikakɔkɔɔ, dwetɛ, aboɔdemmo ne akyɛde a ɛsom bo bedi no ni.
Howbeit, to the god of the fortresses, in his place, will he give honour, —even to a god whom his fathers, knew not, will he give honour, with gold and with silver and with precious stones and with articles of delight.
39 Ɔde mmoa a onya fi ananafo nyame hɔ no bɛtow ahyɛ aban a ɛyɛ den pa ara so, na wɔn a wogye no to mu no, ɔbɛhyɛ wɔn anuonyam. Obedi nnipa bebree so, na ɔbɛkyekyɛ asase no mu de ayɛ akatua.
And he will prepare, for the strongholds of the fortress of the sea, the people of an alien god, whom he will acknowledge—will greatly honour, —and will give them authority over the many, and, the soil, will he apportion for a price.
40 “Awiei no du a, ɔhene a ɔwɔ anafo fam no ne no bɛko, na ɔhene a ɔwɔ atifi fam no nso de nteaseɛnam, apɔnkɔsotefo ne po so asraafo bebree behyia no. Ɔbɛtow ahyɛ aman bebree so na watwiw afa wɔn so te sɛ nsuyiri.
And, in the time of the end, will the king of the south, push at him, and the king of the north, will rush against him, with chariots and with horsemen, and with many ships, —and he will enter the lands, and overwhelm and pass over;
41 Ɔbɛtow ahyɛ Asase Fɛfɛ no so. Aman bebree bɛtotɔ ase, nanso wobegye Edom, Moab ne Amon mu fa kɛse afi ne nsam.
yea he will enter the beautiful land, and, many [lands], shall be laid low, —but, these, shall be delivered out of his hand, Edom and Moab, and the first portion of the sons of Ammon;
42 Ɔde ne tumi bɛkɔ aman bebree so; na Misraim remfi mu tɔtrɔtɔɔ.
yea he will thrust forth his hand against the lands, —and, the land of Egypt, shall have no deliverance;
43 Ɔde ne nsa bɛto ademude a ɛyɛ sikakɔkɔɔ, dwetɛ ne Misraim ahonyade nyinaa so, na Libiafo ne Etiopiafo ayɛ nʼasomfo.
and he will have authority over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the delightful things of Egypt, —with Libyans and Ethiopians among his followers;
44 Nanso amanneɛ a ɔbɛte afi apuei ne atifi fam bɛbɔ no hu, na ɔde abufuwhyew befi akɔ akɔsɛe bebree atɔre wɔn ase.
but, tidings, will terrify him, out of the east, and out of the north, —therefore will he go forth with great fury, to destroy and to devote many;
45 Ɔbɛhoro nʼadehye ntamadan wɔ po no ne bepɔw kronkron fɛɛfɛ no ntam. Na nʼawiei bɛba a ɔrennya mmoa biara.
and will plant his palace-home between the seas, towards the beautiful holy mountain, but shall come to his end, with none to help him.
