< 1 Ahemfo 9 >
1 Bere a Salomo wiee Awurade asɔredan no ne ahemfi no si no, ohuu sɛ wayɛ nea ɔpɛ sɛ ɔyɛ no nyinaa awie.
And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to execute:
2 Awurade daa ne ho adi kyerɛɛ no ne mprenu so, sɛnea na wada ne ho adi akyerɛ no wɔ Gibeon dedaw no.
That the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gib'on.
3 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ no se: “Mate wo mpaebɔ ne wʼadesrɛ. Matew saa asɔredan yi a woasi no ho, sɛnea wɔbɛhyɛ me din anuonyam wɔ hɔ afebɔɔ. Mɛhwɛ so na mama mʼani aku ho.
And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast offered before me; I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there at all times.
4 “Na wo, sɛ wode nokware ne nyamesuro di mʼakyi, sɛnea wʼagya Dawid yɛe, na odii me mmara ne mʼahyɛde nyinaa so no a,
And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in rectitude, to do in accordance with all that I have commanded thee, [and] wilt keep my statutes and my ordinances:
5 metim wʼahenni nnidiso ase wɔ Israel afebɔɔ, sɛnea meka kyerɛɛ wʼagya Dawid se, ‘Ɛremma sɛ worennya ɔbarima bi ntena Israel ahengua no so da no.’
Then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel for ever; as I have spoken concerning David thy father, saying, There shall never fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
6 “Na sɛ wo anaa wo mmabarima dan fi me ho, na wubu mmara ne mʼahyɛde a mede ama mo no so, na sɛ wofi akyi kɔsom anyame afoforo, sɔre wɔn a,
But if ye will at all turn away, ye or your children, from following me, and will not keep my commandments [and] my statutes which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down to them:
7 ɛno de, metwa Israel afi asase a mede ama wɔn no so, na mapo saa asɔredan a matew ho wɔ me din mu no. Ɛbɛma Israel atɔ sin, na ayɛ aserewde wɔ nnipa nyinaa mu.
Then will I cut off Israel from the face of the land which I have given them; and the house, which I have hallowed unto my name, will I cast away from my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a by-word among all the nations;
8 Na ɛwɔ mu sɛ saa Asɔredan yi yɛ fɛ de, nanso wɔn a wobetwa mu wɔ ho no betwiri no, adi ho abooboo, abisa se, ‘Adɛn nti na Awurade ayɛ asase yi ne Asɔredan yi saa?’
And at this house, [which] should be so exalted, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and men will say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
9 Nnipa bebua se, ‘Efisɛ wɔapa Awurade, wɔn Nyankopɔn a oyii wɔn agyanom fii Misraim no akyi, na wɔde wɔn ho akɔdan anyame afoforo a wɔresom wɔn, sɔre wɔn. Ɛno nti na Awurade ama saa ɔhaw ne abɛbrɛsɛ yi aba wɔn so no.’”
And they shall say, For the cause that they forsook the Lord their God, who had brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and took hold of other gods, and bowed down to them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.
10 Mfe aduonu a Salomo de sii Awurade asɔredan no ne ahemfi no akyi,
And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the king's house,
11 ɔhene Salomo de nkurow aduonu a ɛwɔ Galilea maa Tirohene Huram, efisɛ Huram maa no sida nnua ne ɔpepaw nnua ne sikakɔkɔɔ a na ohia.
(Now Hiram the king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar-trees and fir-trees, and with gold, according to all his desire, ) that king Solomon then gave to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12 Huram fii Tiro kɔhwɛɛ nkurow a Salomo de ama no no, nanso nʼani ansɔ koraa.
And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; but they were not right in his eyes.
13 Obisae se, “Me nua, na nkurow bɛn na wode ama me yi? Saa nkurow yi nni mu!” Enti ɔfrɛɛ hɔ Kabul, “Nea enni mu” de besi nnɛ.
And he said, What kind of cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them, The land of Cabul, until this day.
14 Na Huram asoma ma wɔde sikakɔkɔɔ tɔn anan akɔma Salomo.
And Hiram sent to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.
15 Ɔkwan a ɔhene Salomo faa so tintim, hyɛɛ nnipa, ma wosii Awurade asɔredan no ne nʼahemfi, Milo, Yerusalem fasu ne Hasor, Megido ne Geser nkurow no ni:
And this is the manner of the levy which king Solomon raised, to build the house of the Lord, and his own house, and the Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Chazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
16 Misraimhene kotuaa Geser, gyee hɔ fae. Okum Kanaanfo a wɔte kurow no mu nyinaa, hyew hɔ pasaa. Ɔde kuropɔn no maa ne babea no sɛ akyɛde bere a ɔwaree Salomo no.
(Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and captured Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it as a marriage-present unto his daughter, Solomon's wife.
17 Enti Salomo san kyekyeree Geser kuropɔn no. Afei, ɔsan kyekyeree nkurow a ɛwɔ Bet-Horon anafo,
And Solomon built Gezer, and lower Beth-choron,
18 Baalat ne Tamar wɔ sare so, nʼasase so.
And Ba'alath, and Thadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
And all the treasure-cities that Solomon had, and the cities for the chariots, and the cities for the horsemen, and the [other] desire of Solomon which he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.)
20 Na nnipa bi da so te asase no so a wɔnyɛ Israelfo. Wɔne Amorifo, Hetifo, Perisifo, Hewifo ne Yebusifo.
All the people that were left of the Emorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel,
21 Eyinom ne aman a na Israel nwiee wɔn asetɔre korakora no asefo. Enti Salomo hyɛɛ wɔn ma wɔyɛɛ nʼadwumayɛfo, na wɔda so yɛ de besi nnɛ.
Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel had not been able utterly to destroy, these did Solomon levy as tributary laborers until this day.
22 Nanso Salomo anhyɛ Israelfo amma wɔanyɛ ɔhyɛ nnwuma. Mmom, ɔma wɔyɛɛ asraafo, aban adwumayɛfo. Ɔmaa ebinom yɛɛ nʼakofo, ne nteaseɛnam ne ne nteaseɛnamkafo so asahene.
Yet of the children of Israel did Solomon make no one a bond-man; but they were the men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and the officers of his chariots, and of his horsemen.
23 Afei, oyii wɔn mu ahannum ne aduonum ma wɔhwɛɛ ne nkɔsodwuma ahorow so.
These [also] were the chiefs of the superintendents that were over Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people that wrought on the work.
24 Bere a Salomo yii ne yere a ɛyɛ Farao babea no fii Dawid kurow no mu, de no kɔɔ ahemfi foforo a wasi ama no no mu no, ɔkyekyee Milo.
But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which he had built for her: then did he build the Millo.
25 Na Salomo bɔ ɔhyew afɔre ne asomdwoe afɔre ma Awurade afe biara wɔ afɔremuka a osii no so mprɛnsa. Na ɔne wɔn hyew aduhuam nso ma Awurade sɛ asodi a ɛda hɔ ma no wɔ asɔredan no.
And Solomon did offer three times in every year burnt-offerings and peace-offerings upon the altar which he had built unto the Lord, and he burnt incense upon the one that was before the Lord. So he finished the house.
26 Ɔhene Salomo yɛɛ po so ahyɛn nso wɔ Esion-Geber, hyɛngyinabea a ɛbɛn Elot a ɛwɔ Edom asase so hɔ a ɛwɔ Po Kɔkɔɔ no mpoano.
And king Solomon made a ship in 'Ezyon-geber, which is near Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.
27 Na Huram maa nʼahyɛn mu adwumayɛfo a wonim hyɛn mu adwuma yiye no, ne Salomo nkurɔfo de ahyɛn no yɛɛ adwuma.
And Hiram sent in the ship his servants, seamen, that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.
28 Wɔyɛɛ adwuma kɔɔ Ofir, na wɔsan de sikakɔkɔɔ nsania ani nkaribo tɔn 16 brɛɛ Salomo.
And they came to Ophir, and fetched from there gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
