1 Ko e tohi ʻoe tupuʻanga ʻo Sisu Kalaisi, ko e ʻAlo ʻo Tevita, ko e ʻAlo ʻo ʻEpalahame.
The book of the generation of Yahushua the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 Naʻe tupu ʻia ʻEpalahame ʻa ʻAisake; pea tupu ʻia ʻAisake ʻa Sēkope; pea tupu ʻia Sēkope ʻa Siuta mo hono kāinga;
Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
3 Pea tupu ʻia Siuta ʻa Felesi mo Sala ʻia Tema; pea tupu ʻia Felesi ʻa ʻEsilome; pea tupu ʻia ʻEsilome ʻa ʻElame;
And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
4 Pea tupu ʻia ʻElame ʻa ʻAminatape; pea tupu ʻia ʻAminatape ʻa Naasoni; pea tupu ʻia Naasoni ʻa Salimone;
And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
5 Pea tupu ʻia Salimone ʻa Poasi ʻia Lehapi; pea tupu ʻia Poasi ʻa ʻOpeti ʻia Lute; pea tupu ʻia ʻOpeti ʻa Sese;
And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
6 Pea tupu ʻia Sese ʻa Tevita ko e tuʻi; pea tupu ʻia Tevita ko e tuʻi ʻa Solomone, ʻiate ia [naʻe mali] mo ʻUlia;
And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
7 Pea tupu ʻia Solomone ʻa Lopoame; pea tupu ʻia Lopoame ʻa ʻApaia; pea tupu ʻia ʻApaia ʻa ʻEsa;
And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
8 Pea tupu ʻia ʻEsa ʻa Siosafate; pea tupu ʻia Siosafate ʻa Siolame; pea tupu ʻia Siolame ʻa ʻUsaia;
And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
9 Pea tupu ʻia ʻUsaia ʻa Siotame; pea tupu ʻia Siotame ʻa ʻEhasi; pea tupu ʻia ʻEhasi ʻa Hesekaia;
And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
10 Pea tupu ʻia Hesekaia ʻa Manase; pea tupu ʻia Manase ʻa ʻEmone; pea tupu ʻia ʻEmone ʻa Siosaia;
And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
11 Pea tupu ʻia Siosaia ʻa Sekonaia mo hono kāinga, ʻo feʻunga mo e kuonga naʻe fetuku ai ʻakinautolu ki Papilone:
And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12 Pea hili hono fetuku ʻakinautolu ki Papilone, pea tupu ʻia Sekonaia ʻa Saletili; pea tupu ʻia Saletili ʻa Solopēpeli;
And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
13 Pea tupu ʻia Solopēpeli ʻa ʻApaiuta; pea tupu ʻia ʻApaiuta ʻa ʻElaiakimi; pea tupu ʻia ʻElaiakimi ʻa ʻEsoa;
And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
16 Pea tupu ʻia Sēkope ʻa Siosefa ko e husepāniti ʻo Mele, ʻaia ne ne fāʻeleʻi ʻa Sisu, ʻoku ui ko Kalaisi.
And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Yahushua, who is called the Messiah.
17 Pea ko e toʻutangata kotoa pē meia ʻEpalahame ʻo aʻu kia Tevita ko e toʻutangata ʻe hongofulu ma fā; pea meia Tevita ʻo aʻu ki he fetuku ki Papilone ko e toʻutangata ʻe hongofulu ma fā; pea mei he fetuku ki Papilone ʻo aʻu ki he Kalaisi ko e toʻutangata ʻe hongofulu ma fā.
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto the Messiah are fourteen generations.
18 Pea naʻe pehē ʻae ʻaloʻi ʻo Sisu Kalaisi: Kuo fakanofo ʻene faʻē ko Mele kia Siosefa, pea teʻeki ai te na feʻiloaki, kae ʻiloange, kuo feitama ia ʻi he Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni.
Now the birth of Yahushua the Messiah was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
19 Pea ko Siosefa ko hono husepāniti, ko e tangata angatonu, pea naʻe ʻikai ʻi hono loto ke talaki fakahā ia, ka naʻa ne tokanga ke tukuange fakafufū pe ia.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 Kae lolotonga ʻene fifili ki he ngaahi meʻa ni, ʻiloange, kuo hā mai kiate ia ha ʻāngelo ʻae ʻEiki ʻi he misi, ʻo ne pehē, “Siosefa, foha ʻo Tevita, ʻoua te ke manavahē ke maʻu ʻa Mele ko ho uaifi: he ko ia kuo fakatupu ʻiate ia ʻoku mei he Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of YHWH appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 Pea te ne fāʻeleʻi ʻae tama, pea te ke ui hono huafa, ko SISU: ko ia ia te ne fakamoʻui hono kakai mei heʻenau ngaahi angahala.”
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Yahushua: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Pea naʻe fai ʻeni kotoa pē koeʻuhi ke fakamoʻoni ʻaia naʻe folofolaʻaki ʻe he ʻEiki ʻi he palōfita, ʻo pehē,
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of YHWH by the prophet, saying,
23 “Vakai, ʻe feitama ʻae tāupoʻou, pea ʻe fāʻeleʻi ʻae tama, pea ʻe ui hono huafa, ko ʻImanuela:” ko hono ʻuhinga “Ko e ʻOtua ʻiate kitautolu.”
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, Elohim with us.
24 Pea kuo tuʻu hake ʻa Siosefa mei he mohe, pea fai ʻe ia ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻae ʻāngelo ʻae ʻEiki kiate ia, ʻo ne ʻomi ʻa hono uaifi:
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of YHWH had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 Ka naʻe ʻikai te na feʻiloaki kaeʻoua ke ʻaloʻi ʻe ia ʻa ʻene ʻuluaki tama: pea ne ui hono huafa ko SISU.
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Yahushua.
