< 1 Kolinitō 1 >
1 Ko au Paula, naʻe ui ko e ʻaposetolo ʻa Sisu Kalaisi, ʻi he finangalo ʻoe ʻOtua, mo Sositine ko e tokoua,
Paul, called to be an apostle of Yahushua the Messiah through the will of YHWH, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 ki he siasi ʻoe ʻOtua ʻaia ʻoku ʻi Kolinitō, kiate kinautolu kuo fakamāʻoniʻoni ʻia Kalaisi Sisu, kuo hoko ko e māʻoniʻoni, mo kinautolu kotoa pē ʻi he potu fulipē ʻoku ui ki he huafa ʻo Sisu Kalaisi ko hotau ʻEiki, ʻoku ʻonautolu mo ʻotautolu fakatouʻosi:
Unto the assembly of YHWH which is at Corinth, to them that are set apart in the Messiah Yahushua, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Yahushua the Messiah our Master, both theirs and ours:
3 Ke ʻiate kimoutolu ʻae ʻofa mo e melino, mei he ʻOtua ko ʻetau Tamai, pea mei he ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi.
Favour be unto you, and peace, from YHWH our Father, and from the Master Yahushua the Messiah.
4 ʻOku ou fakafetaʻi maʻuaipē ki hoku ʻOtua koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu, koeʻuhi ko e ʻofa ʻae ʻOtua kuo foaki kiate kimoutolu ʻia Sisu Kalaisi;
I thank my Elohim always on your behalf, for the favour of YHWH which is given you by Yahushua the Messiah;
5 Koeʻuhi kuo ne fakakoloaʻia ʻakimoutolu ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē, ʻi he ngaahi lea kotoa pē, mo e ngaahi ʻilo kotoa pē;
That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6 ʻO hangē ko hono fakamoʻoni ʻoe fakahā ʻo Kalaisi ʻiate kimoutolu:
Even as the testimony of the Messiah was confirmed in you:
7 Ko ia ʻoku ʻikai ai te mou tomui ʻi ha foaki; ʻo tatali ki he fakahā ʻa hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi:
So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Master Yahushua the Messiah:
8 ʻAia te ne fakatuʻumaʻu ʻakimoutolu foki ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga, koeʻuhi ke mou taʻehala ʻi he ʻaho ʻo hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi.
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Master Yahushua the Messiah.
9 ʻOku moʻoni ʻae ʻOtua, ʻaia naʻe ui ʻakimoutolu ki he feohi mo hono ʻAlo ko Sisu Kalaisi ko hotau ʻEiki.
YHWH is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Yahushua the Messiah our Master.
10 Pea ko eni, ʻe kāinga, ʻoku ou kole kiate kimoutolu, ʻi he huafa ʻo hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi, ke lea taha pe ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē, pea ke ʻoua naʻa ʻiate kimoutolu ʻae ngaahi mavahevahe; ka mou māʻopoʻopo lelei ʻo loto taha pe, pea fakakaukau taha pe.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Master Yahushua the Messiah, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 He kuo fakahā mai kiate au ʻakimoutolu, ʻe hoku kāinga, ʻekinautolu ʻi he fale ʻo Koloi, ʻoku ai ʻae ngaahi kikihi ʻiate kimoutolu.
For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 Pea ko ʻeku lea eni, ʻoku mou taki taha pehē, “ʻOku ʻo Paula au;” pea, “ʻOku ʻo ʻApolosi au;” pea, “ʻOku ʻo Kifasi au;” pea, “ʻOku ʻo Kalaisi au.”
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Kepha; and I of the Messiah.
13 Kuo mavahevahe koā ʻa Kalaisi? Naʻe tutuki ki he ʻakau ʻa Paula koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu? Pe naʻa mou papitaiso ʻi he hingoa ʻo Paula?
Is the Messiah divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 ʻOku ou fakafetaʻi ki he ʻOtua, naʻe ʻikai te u papitaiso ha taha ʻiate kimoutolu ka ko Kalisipo mo Keio;
I thank YHWH that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Telia naʻa pehē ʻe ha niʻihi kuo u fai papitaiso ʻi hoku hingoa ʻoʻoku.
Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16 Pea naʻaku papitaiso foki ʻae fale ʻo Setivena: pea ʻoku ʻikai te u ʻilo pe naʻaku papitaiso mo ha taha kehe.
And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 He naʻe ʻikai fekau au ʻe Kalaisi ke papitaiso, ka ke malangaʻaki ʻae ongoongolelei: kae ʻikai ʻi he poto ʻoe lea, telia naʻa fakataʻeaongaʻi ʻae ʻakau naʻe tutuki ki ai ʻa Kalaisi.
For the Messiah sent me not to baptize, but to preach the glad tidings: not with wisdom of words, lest the offering of the Messiah should be made of none effect.
18 He ko e malangaʻaki ʻae ʻakau naʻe tutuki ia ki ai ko e vale ia kiate kinautolu ʻoku malaʻia: ka ko e mālohi ia ʻoe ʻOtua kiate kitautolu kuo fakamoʻui.
For the preaching of the stake is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of YHWH.
19 He kuo tohi, “Te u fakaʻauha ʻae poto ʻoe kau poto, Pea te u fakataʻeʻaonga ʻae ʻilo ʻoe ʻiloʻilo.”
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Ko e fē ʻae poto? Ko e fē ʻae tangata tohi? Ko e fē ʻae fakakikihi ʻo māmani? ʻIkai kuo fakamatavalea ʻe he ʻOtua ʻae poto ʻo māmani? (aiōn )
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not YHWH made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn )
21 He koeʻuhi ʻi he poto ʻoe ʻOtua naʻe ʻikai ʻilo ʻae ʻOtua ʻe māmani ʻi hono poto, pea naʻe lelei ki he ʻOtua ʻi he “vale” ʻoe malanga ke fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu ʻoku tui.
For after that in the wisdom of YHWH the world by wisdom knew not YHWH, it pleased YHWH by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 He ʻoku tangi ʻe he kakai Siu ki ha meʻa fakaofo, pea ʻoku kumi ʻe he kakai Kiliki ki he poto:
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 Ka ʻoku mau malangaʻaki ʻa Kalaisi naʻe tutuki ki he ʻakau, ko e tūkiaʻanga ki he kakai Siu, pea ki he kakai Kiliki ko e vale;
But we preach the Messiah crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 Ka ko e mālohi ʻoe ʻOtua mo e poto ʻoe ʻOtua ʻa Kalaisi, kiate kinautolu kuo ui, ʻi he kakai Siu mo e kakai Kiliki.
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, the Messiah is the power of YHWH, and the wisdom of YHWH.
25 He ko ia ʻoku vale ʻi he ʻOtua, ʻoku poto lahi ia ʻi he tangata; mo ia ʻoku vaivai ʻi he ʻOtua, ʻoku mālohi lahi ia ʻi he tangata.
Because the foolishness of YHWH is wiser than men; and the weakness of YHWH is stronger than men.
26 He ʻoka mou mamata ki homou ui, ʻe kāinga, koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻikai ui ha tokolahi ʻoe poto fakakakano, pe ko e tokolahi ʻi he mālohi, pe ko e tokolahi ʻi he houʻeiki:
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 Ka kuo fili ʻe he ʻOtua ʻae ngaahi meʻa vale ʻoe māmani, ke fakamā ʻae poto; pea kuo fili ʻe he ʻOtua ʻae ngaahi meʻa vaivai ʻoe māmani, ke fakamā ʻae mālohi;
But YHWH hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and YHWH hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 Mo e kau lāuvale ʻoe māmani, mo e meʻa kuo manuki, kuo fili ʻe he ʻOtua, pea mo e ngaahi meʻa kuo ʻikai, ke ne fakaʻosi ʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ai:
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath YHWH chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 Ke ʻoua naʻa vikiviki ha toko taha ʻi hono ʻao.
That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 Ka ko e meʻa ʻiate ia ʻoku mou ʻia Kalaisi Sisu, ʻaia kuo hoko ai ia mei he ʻOtua kiate kitautolu, ko e poto, mo e fakatonuhia, mo e māʻoniʻoni, mo e huhuʻi:
But of him are ye in the Messiah Yahushua, who of YHWH is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 Koeʻuhi, ke hangē ko ia kuo tohi, “Ko ia ʻoku vikiviki, ke vikiviki ia ʻi he ʻEiki.”
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in YHWH.
