1 பின்பு இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நான் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன், இங்கே நிற்கிறவர்களில் சிலர், இறைவனுடைய அரசு வல்லமையுடன் வருவதைக் காணுமுன், மரணமடைய மாட்டார்கள்” என்றார்.
And he saide vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that there be some of them that stande here, which shall not taste of death till they haue seene the kingdome of God come with power.
2 ஆறு நாட்களுக்குபின் இயேசு தம்முடன் பேதுருவையும், யோவானையும், யாக்கோபையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, உயரமான மலைக்கு ஏறிப்போனார். அங்கே அவர்கள் தனிமையாய் இருக்கையில், அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக இயேசு மறுரூபமடைந்தார்.
And sixe dayes after, Iesus taketh vnto him Peter, and Iames, and Iohn, and carieth them vp into an hie mountaine out of the way alone, and his shape was changed before them.
3 அவருடைய உடைகள் மிகவும் பிரகாசமான வெண்மையாயிருந்தன. அவை இந்தப் பூமியிலுள்ள எவராலும், வெளுக்க முடியாத அளவுக்கு வெண்மையாயிருந்தன.
And his rayment did shine, and was very white, as snowe, so white as no fuller can make vpon the earth.
4 அத்துடன் எலியாவும் மோசேயும் அவர்களுக்குமுன் தோன்றி, இயேசுவுடன் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
And there appeared vnto them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Iesus.
5 உடனே பேதுரு இயேசுவிடம், “போதகரே, நாம் இங்கே இருப்பது நல்லது. ஒன்று உமக்கும், ஒன்று மோசேக்கும், ஒன்று எலியாவுக்குமாக, நாம் மூன்று கூடாரங்களை அமைப்போம்” என்றான்.
Then Peter answered, and said to Iesus, Master, it is good for vs to be here: let vs make also three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 அவர்கள் மிகவும் பயமடைந்திருந்தபடியால், என்ன சொல்வதென்றே அவனுக்குத் தெரியவில்லை.
Yet hee knewe not what he saide: for they were afraide.
7 அப்பொழுது ஒரு மேகம் தோன்றி, அவர்களை மூடிக்கொண்டது. அந்த மேகத்திலிருந்து ஒரு குரல் கேட்டது: “இவர் என் மகன், நான் இவரில் அன்பாயிருக்கிறேன். இவர் கூறுவதைக் கேளுங்கள்.”
And there was a cloude that shadowed them, and a voyce came out of the cloude, saying, This is my beloued Sonne: heare him.
8 திடீரென அவர்கள் சுற்றிப் பார்த்தபோது, இயேசுவைத் தவிர தங்களோடு வேறு எவரையும் அவர்கள் காணவில்லை.
And suddenly they looked roud about, and sawe no more any man saue Iesus only with them.
9 அவர்கள் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்குகிறபோது, மானிடமகனாகிய தான் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து உயிருடன் எழுந்திருக்கும் வரைக்கும், அவர்கள் பார்த்ததை வேறு ஒருவருக்கும் சொல்லக்கூடாது, என்று இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு உத்தரவிட்டார்.
And as they came downe from the mountaine, he charged them, that they should tell no man what they had seene, saue when the Sonne of man were risen from the dead againe.
10 அவர்கள் இந்தக் காரியத்தைத் தங்களுக்குள்ளேயே வைத்து, “இறந்தோரில் இருந்து உயிர்த்தெழுவது என்றால் என்ன?” என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
So they kept that matter to themselues, and demaunded one of another, what the rising from the dead againe should meane?
11 அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம், “முதலாவது எலியா வரவேண்டும் என்று மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்கள் சொல்கிறார்களே; அது ஏன்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
Also they asked him, saying, Why say the Scribes, that Elias must first come?
12 அதற்கு இயேசு, “உண்மையாக எலியாவே முதலாவதாய் வந்து, எல்லா காரியங்களையும், முந்தைய நிலைக்குக் கொண்டுவருவான். அப்படியானால் மானிடமகனாகிய நான் அதிகமாகத் துன்பப்பட்டு, புறக்கணிக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே அது ஏன்?
And he answered, and said vnto them, Elias verely shall first come, and restore all things: and as it is written of the Sonne of man, hee must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
13 நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன், எலியா வந்துவிட்டான். அவனைக்குறித்து எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே, மக்கள் தாங்கள் விரும்பியபடியெல்லாம் அவனுக்குச் செய்தார்கள்” என்றார்.
But I say vnto you, that Elias is come, (and they haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they would) as it is written of him.
14 அவர்கள் மற்றச் சீடர்களிடம் வந்தபோது, அவர்களைச் சுற்றி ஒரு பெருங்கூட்டமான மக்கள் சூழ்ந்திருப்பதையும், மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்கள் சீடர்களுடன் விவாதித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பதையும் கண்டார்கள்.
And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the Scribes disputing with them.
15 மக்கள் எல்லோரும் இயேசுவைக் கண்ட உடனே வியப்பு நிறைந்தவர்களாய், ஓடிப்போய் அவரை வாழ்த்தினார்கள்.
And straightway all the people, when they behelde him, were amased, and ranne to him, and saluted him.
16 இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் எதைப்பற்றி விவாதித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
Then hee asked the Scribes, What dispute you among your selues?
17 மக்கள் கூட்டத்திலிருந்து ஒருவன், “போதகரே, நான் என் மகனை உம்மிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தேன். அவனை ஒரு தீய ஆவி பிடித்திருப்பதால், அவன் பேசும் ஆற்றலை இழந்துவிட்டான்.
And one of the companie answered, and said, Master, I haue brought my sonne vnto thee, which hath a dumme spirit:
18 அது அவனைப் பிடிக்கும் போதெல்லாம், அவனைத் தரையில் வீழ்த்துகிறது. அவன் வாயில் நுரைதள்ளி, பல்லைக்கடித்து நெரிக்கிறான், அவனது உடல் விறைத்துப் போகிறது. நான் அந்தத் தீய ஆவியைத் துரத்தும்படி, உமது சீடர்களிடம் கேட்டேன்; ஆனால் அவர்களால் அதைத் துரத்த முடியவில்லை” என்றான்.
And wheresoeuer he taketh him, he teareth him, and he fometh, and gnasheth his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples, that they should cast him out, and they could not.
19 அப்பொழுது இயேசு, “விசுவாசமில்லாத தலைமுறையினரே, எவ்வளவு காலத்திற்கு நான் உங்களோடு தங்கியிருப்பேன்? எவ்வளவு காலத்திற்கு நான் உங்களைப் பொறுத்துக்கொள்வேன்? அந்தச் சிறுவனை என்னிடம் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்” என்றார்.
Then he answered him, and said, O faithlesse generation, how long now shall I be with you! how long now shall I suffer you! Bring him vnto me.
20 எனவே அவர்கள், அவனை அவரிடம் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அந்த தீய ஆவி இயேசுவைக் கண்டவுடனே, சிறுவனை வலிப்புறச் செய்து, அவனைக் கீழே வீழ்த்தியது. அவன் தரையில் விழுந்து புரண்டான். அவன் வாயிலிருந்து நுரை வந்தது.
So they brought him vnto him: and assoone as the spirit sawe him, hee tare him, and hee fell downe on the ground walowing and foming.
21 இயேசு அந்தச் சிறுவனுடைய தகப்பனிடம், “இது எவ்வளவு காலமாக இப்படியிருக்கிறது?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவன், “இவனுடைய குழந்தைப் பருவத்திலிருந்தே இப்படி இருக்கிறது” என்றான்.
Then he asked his father, How long time is it since he hath bin thus? And he said, Of a childe.
22 “இந்த தீய ஆவி இவனைக் கொல்லும்படி நெருப்புக்குள்ளும், தண்ணீருக்குள்ளும் பலமுறை வீழ்த்தியிருக்கிறது. உம்மால் ஏதாவது செய்ய இயலுமானால், எங்கள்மேல் இரக்கங்கொண்டு, எங்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்யும்” என்றான்.
And oft times he casteth him into the fire, and into the water to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, helpe vs, and haue compassion vpon vs.
23 அதற்கு இயேசு, “சாத்தியமா என்று கேட்கிறாயோ? விசுவாசிக்கிறவனுக்கு எல்லாம் சாத்தியம்” என்றார்.
And Iesus said vnto him, If thou canst beleeue it, al things are possible to him that beleeueth.
24 உடனே அந்தச் சிறுவனின் தகப்பன், “நான் விசுவாசிக்கிறேன்; ஆனால், என் அவிசுவாசம் நீங்க எனக்கு உதவிசெய்யும்” என்றான்.
And straightway the father of the childe crying with teares, saide, Lord, I beleeue: helpe my vnbeliefe.
25 மக்கள் திரண்டு, அவ்விடத்திற்கு ஓடிவருவதை இயேசு கண்டார். அப்போது, அவர் அந்த அசுத்த ஆவியைப் பார்த்து, “செவிடும், ஊமையுமான ஆவியே, இவனைவிட்டு வெளியே போ; இனி ஒருபோதும் இவனுக்குள் போகாதே என்று நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்” என்றார்.
When Iesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the vncleane spirit, saying vnto him, Thou domme and deafe spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 அந்தத் தீய ஆவி கூச்சலிட்டு, அவனை அதிகமாய் வலிப்புக்குள்ளாக்கி, அவனைவிட்டு வெளியே வந்தது. பலர் அவனைப் பார்த்து, “இவன் இறந்துவிட்டான்” என்று சொல்லுமளவிற்கு அவன் இறந்தவனைப்போல கிடந்தான்.
Then the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out, and he was as one dead, in so much that many said, He is dead.
27 ஆனால் இயேசுவோ அவனது கையைப் பிடித்து, அவனைத் தூக்கி நிறுத்தினார். அவன் எழுந்து நின்றான்.
But Iesus tooke his hande, and lift him vp, and he arose.
28 பின்பு இயேசு வீட்டிற்குள் போனபோது, அவருடைய சீடர்கள் தனியாக அவரிடம், “எங்களால் ஏன் அதைத் துரத்த முடியவில்லை?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
And when hee was come into the house, his disciples asked him secretly, Why could not we cast him out?
29 அதற்கு இயேசு, “இவ்வகையான தீய ஆவி மன்றாட்டினாலும், உபவாசத்தினாலும் மட்டுமே வெளியேறும்” என்றார்.
And he saide vnto them, This kinde can by no other meanes come foorth, but by prayer and fasting.
30 அவர்கள் அவ்விடத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, கலிலேயா வழியாகக் கடந்து சென்றார்கள். தாம் எங்கே இருக்கிறோம் என்று, யாரும் அறிவதை இயேசு விரும்பவில்லை.
And they departed thence, and went together through Galile, and hee would not that any should haue knowen it.
31 ஏனெனில் இயேசு, தமது சீடருக்குப் போதித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அவர் அவர்களிடம், “மானிடமகனாகிய நான் மனிதருடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவேன். அவர்கள் மானிடமகனாகிய என்னைக் கொலைசெய்வார்கள், மூன்று நாட்களுக்குப்பின் நான் உயிருடன் எழுந்திருப்பேன்” என்று சொன்னார்.
For he taught his disciples, and saide vnto them, The Sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the handes of men, and they shall kill him, but after that he is killed, he shall rise againe the third day.
32 ஆனால் அவர்களோ, இயேசு சொன்னதை விளங்கிக்கொள்ளவில்லை. அவர் சொன்னதைக்குறித்து அவரிடம் கேட்கவும் பயந்தார்கள்.
But they vnderstoode not that saying, and were afraide to aske him.
33 அவர்கள் கப்பர்நகூமுக்கு வந்தார்கள். இயேசு வீட்டில் இருந்தபோது, சீடர்களிடம், “வழியிலே நீங்கள் என்னத்தைப்பற்றி விவாதித்துக்கொண்டு வந்தீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
After, he came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house, he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among you by the way?
34 அவர்கள் வழியில், தங்களில் யார் பெரியவன் என்று வாக்குவாதமும் பண்ணிக்கொண்டு வந்தபடியால், மவுனமாய் இருந்தார்கள்.
And they helde their peace: for by the way they reasoned among themselues, who should bee the chiefest.
35 இயேசு உட்கார்ந்து, பன்னிரண்டு சீடர்களையும் தம்மிடம் வரும்படி கூப்பிட்டு, “யாராவது முதன்மையானவனாயிருக்க விரும்பினால், அவனே எல்லாரிலும் கடைசியானவனாக இருக்கவேண்டும். அவன் எல்லோருக்கும் வேலைக்காரனாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டும்” என்றார்.
And he sate downe, and called the twelue, and said to them, If any man desire to be first, the same shalbe last of all, and seruant vnto all.
36 இயேசு ஒரு சிறுபிள்ளையைத் தூக்கியெடுத்து, அவர்கள் நடுவில் நிறுத்தி, தமது கைகளால் அணைத்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னதாவது:
And he tooke a litle childe, and set him in the middes of them, and tooke him in his armes, and sayd vnto them,
37 “எனது பெயரில், இந்தப் பிள்ளைகளில் ஒருவரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறவன் யாரோ, அவன் என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறான்; என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறவன் என்னை அல்ல, என்னை அனுப்பினவரையே ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறான்” என்றார்.
Whosoeuer shall receiue one of such litle children in my Name, receiueth me: and whosoeuer receiueth mee, receiueth not me, but him that sent me.
38 அப்பொழுது யோவான் அவரிடம், “போதகரே, ஒருவன் உமது பெயரினால் பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துவதை நாங்கள் கண்டோம். அவன் எங்களில் ஒருவன் அல்லாதபடியினால், நாங்கள் அவனைத் தடை செய்தோம்” என்றான்.
Then Iohn answered him, saying, Master, we sawe one casting out deuils by thy Name, which followeth not vs, and we forbade him, because he followeth vs not.
39 இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “அவனைத் தடைசெய்ய வேண்டாம். எனது பெயரினால் அற்புதத்தைச் செய்கிறவன், சீக்கிரமாய் என்னைக்குறித்துத் தீமையாய்ப் பேசமாட்டான்.
But Iesus sayd, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can doe a miracle by my Name, that can lightly speake euill of me.
40 ஏனெனில் நமக்கு விரோதமாய் இல்லாதவன், நமக்குச் சாதகமாகவே இருக்கிறான்.
For whosoeuer is not against vs, is on our part.
41 நான் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்லுகிறேன், நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவினுடையவர்கள் என்ற காரணத்தால், யாராவது என் பெயரில் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு குவளை தண்ணீர் கொடுத்தால், அவன் தனக்குரிய வெகுமதியை நிச்சயமாய் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளாமல் போகமாட்டான்” என்றார்.
And whosoeuer shall giue you a cup of water to drinke for my Names sake, because ye belong to Christ, verely I say vnto you, he shall not lose his rewarde.
42 யாராவது என்னில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிற இந்தச் சிறியவரில் ஒருவரைப் பாவத்தில் விழப்பண்ணினால், அவனுடைய கழுத்திலே பெரிய திரிகைக் கல்லொன்றைக் கட்டி, கடலின் ஆழத்தில் அவன் தள்ளப்படுவது அவனுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும்.
And whosoeuer shall offend one of these litle ones, that beleeue in me, it were better for him rather, that a milstone were hanged about his necke, and that he were cast into the sea.
43 உனது கை உன்னைப் பாவம் செய்யத் தூண்டினால், அதை வெட்டிப்போடு. நீ இரண்டு கைகளுடன் அணைந்து போகாத நெருப்புள்ள நரகத்திற்குள் போவதைப் பார்க்கிலும், ஊனமுள்ளவனாய் நித்திய வாழ்விற்குள் போவது சிறந்தது. (Geenna g1067)
Wherefore, if thine hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, then hauing two hands, to goe into hell, into the fire that neuer shalbe quenched, (Geenna g1067)
44 நரகத்திலே அவர்களைத் தின்னும் புழு சாவதுமில்லை, அங்குள்ள நெருப்பு அணைவதுமில்லை. (questioned)
Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
45 உனது கால் உன்னைப் பாவம் செய்யத் தூண்டினால், அதை வெட்டிப்போடு. நீ இரண்டு கால்களுடன் அணைந்து போகாத நெருப்புள்ள நரகத்திற்குள் தள்ளப்படுவதைப் பார்க்கிலும், முடவனாய் நித்திய வாழ்விற்குள் போவது உனக்குச் சிறந்தது. (Geenna g1067)
Likewise, if thy foote cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to go halt into life, then hauing two feete, to be cast into hell, into the fire that neuer shalbe quenched, (Geenna g1067)
46 நரகத்திலே அவர்களைத் தின்னும் புழு சாவதுமில்லை, அங்குள்ள நெருப்பு அணைவதுமில்லை. (questioned)
Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
47 உனது கண் உன்னைப் பாவம் செய்யத் தூண்டினால், அதைத்தோண்டி எடுத்துவிடு. நீ இரண்டு கண்களுடையவனாய் நரகத்திற்குள் தள்ளப்படுவதைப் பார்க்கிலும், ஒரு கண்ணுடன் இறைவனின் அரசிற்குள் போவது உனக்குச் சிறந்தது. (Geenna g1067)
And if thine eye cause thee to offende, plucke it out: it is better for thee to goe into the kingdome of God with one eye, then hauing two eyes, to be cast into hell fire, (Geenna g1067)
48 நரகத்தில், “‘அவர்களைத் தின்னும் புழு சாவதுமில்லை, அங்குள்ள நெருப்பு அணைந்து போவதுமில்லை.’
Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.
49 ஒவ்வொரு பலியும் உப்பினால் உப்பிடப்படுவதுபோல, ஒவ்வொருவரும் நெருப்பினால் சோதிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.
For euery man shalbe salted with fire: and euery sacrifice shalbe salted with salt.
50 “உப்பு நல்லது, ஆனால் அது அதன் உவர்ப்புத் தன்மையை இழந்துபோனால் மீண்டும் அதை எப்படி உவர்ப்பு உடையதாக்க முடியும்? உங்களுக்குள்ளே சாரமுள்ள உறவு உடையவர்களாயிருங்கள். ஒருவரோடொருவர் சமாதானமாயும் இருங்கள்” என்றார்.
Salt is good: but if the salt be vnsauerie, wherewith shall it be seasoned? haue salt in your selues, and haue peace one with another.
