மாற்கு 14
1 பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகையும், புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பப் பண்டிகையும் வருவதற்கு, இன்னும் இரண்டு நாட்களே இருந்தன. தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும், மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்களும் இயேசுவைக் கைதுசெய்து, அவரைக் கொலைசெய்வதற்கு தந்திரமான ஒரு வழியைத் தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
And two daies after followed the feast of the Passeouer, and of vnleauened bread: and the hie Priests, and Scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
2 ஆனால், “பண்டிகை காலத்தில் அப்படிச் செய்யக்கூடாது, செய்தால் மக்களிடையே கலகம் ஏற்படக்கூடும்” என்று அவர்கள் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
But they sayde, Not in the feast day, least there be any tumult among the people.
3 பெத்தானியாவிலே, அவர் குஷ்டவியாதியாயிருந்த சீமோனுடைய வீட்டில் சாப்பாட்டுப் பந்தியில் இருக்கும்போது, ஒரு பெண் அங்கே வந்தாள்; அவள் நளதம் என்னும் விலையுயர்ந்த நறுமணத் தைலமுள்ள, வெள்ளைக்கல் குடுவையைக் கொண்டுவந்தாள். அவள் அதை உடைத்து, அந்த நறுமணத் தைலத்தை அவருடைய தலையின்மேல் ஊற்றினாள்.
And when hee was in Bethania in the house of Simon the leper, as he sate at table, there came a woman hauing a boxe of oyntment of spikenarde, very costly, and shee brake the boxe, and powred it on his head.
4 அங்கிருந்தவர்களில் சிலர், “இந்த வாசனைத் தைலத்தை இவ்விதமாய் வீணாக்குவது ஏன்?” என்று கோபத்துடன் ஒருவரோடொருவர் பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
Therefore some disdained among themselues, and sayde, To what ende is this waste of oyntment?
5 “இதை ஒரு வருட சம்பளத்தைவிடக் கூடுதலான பணத்துக்கு விற்றிருக்கலாமே. அப்பணத்தை ஏழைகளுக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கலாமே” என்று சொல்லி, அவர்கள் அவளை கடுமையாய் திட்டினார்கள்.
For it might haue bene sold for more then three hundreth pence, and bene giuen vnto the poore, and they murmured against her.
6 அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “அவளை விடுங்கள். ஏன் அவளுக்குத் தொந்தரவு கொடுக்கிறீர்கள்? அவள் இந்தச் செயலை ஒரு சிறந்த நோக்கத்துடனேயே செய்தாள்.
But Iesus saide, Let her alone: why trouble yee her? shee hath wrought a good worke on me.
7 ஏழைகள் எப்பொழுதும் உங்களுடன் இருப்பார்கள்; விரும்புகிற போதெல்லாம், நீங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்யலாம். ஆனால் நான் எப்பொழுதும் உங்களுடன் இருக்கமாட்டேன்.
For yee haue the poore with you alwaies, and when yee will yee may doe them good, but me yee shall not haue alwaies.
8 அவள் தன்னால் இயன்றதைச் செய்தாள். என்னை அடக்கம்பண்ணுவதற்கென, முன்னதாகவே ஆயத்தம் செய்யும்படி, அவள் இந்த நறுமணத் தைலத்தை என் உடலின்மேல் ஊற்றினாள்.
She hath done that she coulde: she came afore hand to anoynt my body to the burying.
9 நான் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன், உலகம் முழுவதும் எங்கெல்லாம் நற்செய்தி அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறதோ, அங்கெல்லாம் இவள் செய்ததும், இவளுடைய ஞாபகமாக சொல்லப்படும்” என்றார்.
Verely I say vnto you, wheresoeuer this Gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done, shalbe spoken of in remembrance of her.
10 அப்பொழுது பன்னிரண்டு சீடர்களில் ஒருவனான யூதாஸ் ஸ்காரியோத்து, தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களுக்கு இயேசுவைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கும்படிப் போனான்.
Then Iudas Iscariot, one of the twelue, went away vnto the hie Priestes, to betray him vnto them.
11 அவர்கள் அதைக்கேட்டு மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்து, அவனுக்குப் பணம் தருவதென வாக்குறுதி கொடுத்தார்கள். எனவே யூதாஸ் அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பதற்கான வாய்ப்பைத் தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised that they woulde giue him monie: therefore he sought howe he might conueniently betraie him.
12 புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பப் பண்டிகையின் முதலாம் நாளிலே, பஸ்கா ஆட்டுக்குட்டியைப் பலியிடுவது வழக்கமாயிருந்தது. எனவே, இயேசுவினுடைய சீடர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து, “பஸ்கா உணவைச் சாப்பிடும்படி, நாங்கள் எங்கே உமக்காக ஆயத்தம் பண்ணவேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறீர்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
Nowe the first day of vnleauened bread, when they sacrificed the Passeouer, his disciples sayde vnto him, Where wilt thou that we goe and prepare, that thou mayest eate the Passeouer?
13 அப்பொழுது இயேசு, தம்முடைய சீடர்களில் இருவரை அனுப்பி அவர்களிடம், “பட்டணத்திற்குள் போங்கள். தண்ணீர் குடத்தைச் சுமந்து வருகிற ஒருவனைச் சந்திப்பீர்கள். அவனைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து போங்கள்.
Then hee sent foorth two of his disciples, and sayde vnto them, Goe yee into the citie, and there shall a man meete you bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.
14 அவன் போகிற வீட்டினுடைய சொந்தக்காரனிடம், ‘என்னுடைய விருந்தினருக்கான அறை எங்கே இருக்கிறது? அங்கு நானும், என்னுடைய சீடர்களும் பஸ்காவைச் சாப்பிடவேண்டும்’ என்று போதகர் கேட்கிறார் என அவனுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்.
And whithersoeuer he goeth in, say yee to the good man of the house, The Master sayeth, Where is the lodging where I shall eate the Passeouer with my disciples?
15 அவன் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு பெரிய மேல்வீட்டு அறையைக் காண்பிப்பான். அது கம்பளங்கள் போடப்பட்டு ஆயத்தமாக்கப்பட்டதாய் இருக்கும். அங்கே நாம் சாப்பிடுவதற்கான ஆயத்தங்களைச் செய்யுங்கள்” என்று சொல்லி, அவர்களை அனுப்பினார்.
And he wil shewe you an vpper chamber which is large, trimmed and prepared: there make it readie for vs.
16 சீடர்கள் புறப்பட்டு பட்டணத்துக்குள் போய், இயேசு தங்களுக்குச் சொன்ன விதமாகவே எல்லாம் இருப்பதைக் கண்டார்கள். அப்படியே, அவர்கள் பஸ்காவை ஆயத்தம் செய்தார்கள்.
So his disciples went foorth, and came to the citie, and found as he had said vnto them, and made readie the Passeouer.
17 மாலை வேளையானபோது, இயேசு பன்னிரண்டு சீடர்களோடு அங்கு வந்து சேர்ந்தார்.
And at euen he came with the twelue.
18 அவர்கள் பந்தியில் உட்கார்ந்து சாப்பிட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கையில், இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நான் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன், உங்களில் ஒருவன் என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான். என்னோடு சாப்பிடுகிறவர்களில், ஒருவன் என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான்” என்றார்.
And as they sate at table and did eate, Iesus said, Verely I say vnto you, that one of you shall betray me, which eateth with me.
19 அவர்கள் துக்கமடைந்து, ஒருவர் பின் ஒருவராக அவரிடம், “நிச்சயமாக அது நான் இல்லை அல்லவா?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
Then they began to be sorowful and to say to him one by one, Is it I? And another, Is it I?
20 “என்னுடனே ஒரே கிண்ணத்தில் தொட்டுச் சாப்பிடுகிற பன்னிரண்டு சீடர்களில் ஒருவனே, என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான்” என இயேசு பதிலளித்தார்.
And he answered and sayde vnto them, It is one of the twelue that dippeth with mee in the platter.
21 மானிடமகனாகிய என்னைக்குறித்து எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே நான் போகிறேன். ஆனால் மானிடமகனாகிய என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறவனுக்கு ஐயோ! அவன் பிறக்காமலே இருந்திருந்தால் அது அவனுக்கு “நலமாய் இருந்திருக்கும்” என்றார்.
Truely the Sonne of man goeth his way, as it is written of him: but woe bee to that man, by whome the Sonne of man is betrayed: it had beene good for that man, if hee had neuer beene borne.
22 அவர்கள் சாப்பிட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கையில், இயேசு அப்பத்தை எடுத்து, இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தி, அதைப் பிட்டு தம்முடைய சீடர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்துச் சொன்னதாவது, “இதை எடுத்துச் சாப்பிடுங்கள்; இது என்னுடைய உடல்.”
And as they did eate, Iesus tooke the bread, and when hee had giuen thankes, he brake it and gaue it to them, and sayde, Take, eate, this is my bodie.
23 பின்பு இயேசு பாத்திரத்தையும் எடுத்து, இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தி, அதை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார். அவர்கள் எல்லோரும், அந்தப் பாத்திரத்திலிருந்து குடித்தார்கள்.
Also he tooke the cuppe, and when he had giuen thankes, gaue it to them: and they all dranke of it.
24 இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “இது என்னுடைய உடன்படிக்கையின் இரத்தமாயிருக்கிறது, இது அநேகருக்காகச் சிந்தப்படுகிறது.
And he saide vnto them, This is my blood of that newe Testament, which is shed for many.
25 உண்மையாய் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன், நான் இறைவனுடைய அரசில் திராட்சைப்பழ இரசத்தைப் புதிதாகக் குடிக்கும் அந்த நாள்வரைக்கும், இனிமேல் நான் குடிக்கமாட்டேன்” என்றார்.
Verely I say vnto you, I wil drinke no more of the fruit of ye vine vntill that day, that I drinke it newe in the kingdome of God.
26 அவர்கள் ஒரு துதிப்பாடலைப் பாடிய பின்பு, ஒலிவமலைக்குச் சென்றார்கள்.
And when they had sung a Psalme, they went out to the mount of Oliues.
27 இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் என்னைவிட்டு விலகிப்போவீர்கள், “‘மேய்ப்பனை அடித்து வீழ்த்துவேன், அப்பொழுது ஆடுகள் சிதறடிக்கப்படும்’ என்று பரிசுத்த வேதத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது.
Then Iesus said vnto them, Al ye shall be offended by mee this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepheard, and the sheepe shall be scattered.
28 ஆனால் நான் உயிர்த்தெழுந்த பின்பு, உங்களுக்கு முன்னதாகவே கலிலேயாவுக்குப் போவேன்” என்றார்.
But after that I am risen, I will goe into Galile before you.
29 அதற்குப் பேதுரு அவரிடம், “எல்லோரும் உம்மைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனாலும், நான் போகமாட்டேன்” என்றான்.
And Peter saide vnto him, Although all men should be offended at thee, yet would not I.
30 அப்பொழுது இயேசு, “நான் உனக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன், இன்று இரவே, சேவல் இரண்டுமுறை கூவுவதற்கு முன்னே, நீ என்னை மூன்றுமுறை மறுதலிப்பாய்” என்றார்.
Then Iesus saide vnto him, Verely I say vnto thee, this day, euen in this night, before the cocke crowe twise, thou shalt denie me thrise.
31 ஆனால் பேதுருவோ, “நான் உம்முடன் சாகவேண்டிய நிலைமை ஏற்பட்டாலும், உம்மை ஒருபோதும் மறுதலிக்கமாட்டேன்” என்று வலியுறுத்திச் சொன்னான். மற்றெல்லோருங்கூட அவ்விதமாகவே சொன்னார்கள்.
But he saide more earnestly. If I shoulde die with thee, I will not denie thee: likewise also saide they all.
32 அவர்கள் கெத்செமனே என்னும் ஒரு இடத்திற்குச் சென்றார்கள். அங்கு இயேசு தம்முடைய சீடர்களைப் பார்த்து, “நான் மன்றாடப்போகிறேன், அதுவரை இங்கே உட்கார்ந்திருங்கள்” என்றார்.
After, they came into a place named Gethsemane: then hee saide to his disciples, Sit yee here, till I haue praied.
33 இயேசு பேதுருவையும், யாக்கோபையும், யோவானையும் தம்முடன் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு சென்றார். அவர் மிகவும் துயருற்று கலக்கமடையத் தொடங்கினார்.
And hee tooke with him Peter, and Iames, and Iohn, and hee began to be troubled, and in great heauinesse,
34 “என் ஆத்துமா மரணத்திற்கேதுவான துக்கத்தால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது. நீங்கள் இங்கே தங்கி, விழிப்பாயிருங்கள்” என்றார்.
And saide vnto them, My soule is very heauie, euen vnto the death: tarie here, and watch.
35 இயேசு சற்றுத் தூரமாய்ப் போய்த், தரையில் விழுந்து மன்றாடினார். முடியுமானால், அந்த வேளை தம்மை விட்டுக் கடந்து போகட்டும் என்று அவர் வேண்டிக் கொண்டார்.
So he went forward a litle, and fell downe on the ground, and praied, that if it were possible, that houre might passe from him.
36 அவர் தொடர்ந்து, “அப்பா பிதாவே, எல்லாவற்றையும் செய்ய உம்மால் இயலும். இந்தப் பாத்திரத்தை என்னைவிட்டு எடுத்துவிடும். ஆனால், என் சித்தத்தின்படியல்ல, உமது சித்தத்தின்படியே ஆகட்டும்” என்றார்.
And he saide, Abba, Father, all things are possible vnto thee: take away this cup from me: neuertheles not that I will, but that thou wilt, be done.
37 பின்பு இயேசு தமது சீடர்களிடம் திரும்பிவந்தபோது, அவர்கள் நித்திரையாயிருப்பதைக் கண்டார். அவர் பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து, “சீமோனே, நீ நித்திரை செய்கிறாயோ? ஒருமணி நேரமாவது விழித்திருக்க உங்களால் முடியவில்லையா?
Then hee came, and founde them sleeping, and said to Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watche one houre?
38 விழித்திருந்து மன்றாடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் சோதனைக்குள் விழமாட்டீர்கள். ஆவி ஆர்வமாயிருக்கிறது, ஆனால் உடலோ பலவீனமுள்ளது” என்றார்.
Watch ye, and pray, that ye enter not into tentation: the spirite in deede is ready, but the flesh is weake.
39 இயேசு மீண்டும் போய், அதேவிதமாகவே மன்றாடினார்.
And againe hee went away, and praied, and spake the same wordes.
40 இயேசு திரும்பவும் வந்தபோது சீடர்கள் மீண்டும் நித்திரையாயிருப்பதை அவர் கண்டார்; ஏனெனில் அவர்களுடைய கண்கள் தூக்க மயக்கத்தில் இருந்தன. அவரிடம் என்ன சொல்வதென்று அவர்களுக்குத் தெரியவில்லை.
And he returned, and founde them a sleepe againe: for their eyes were heauie: neither knewe they what they should answere him.
41 இயேசு மூன்றாம் முறையும் திரும்பிவந்து, சீடர்களைப் பார்த்து, “நீங்கள் இன்னும் நித்திரை செய்து இளைப்பாறுகிறீர்களோ? போதும்! வேளை வந்துவிட்டது. போதும்! மானிடமகனாகிய நான் பாவிகளின் கைகளில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுகிறேன்.
And he came the third time, and said vnto them, Sleepe henceforth, and take your rest: it is ynough: the houre is come: beholde, the Sonne of man is deliuered into the hands of sinners.
42 எழுந்திருங்கள், நாம் போவோம்! என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பவன் இதோ வருகிறான்!” என்றார்.
Rise vp: let vs go: loe, he that betraieth me, is at hand.
43 இயேசு பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், பன்னிரண்டு சீடர்களில் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாஸ் அங்கே வந்தான். அவனுடன் ஒரு கூட்ட மக்கள் வாள்களையும் தடிகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள். இவர்கள் தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களாலும், மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்களாலும், யூதரின் தலைவர்களாலும் அனுப்பப்பட்டிருந்தார்கள்.
And immediatly while hee yet spake, came Iudas that was one of the twelue, and with him a great multitude with swordes and staues from the hie Priests, and Scribes, and Elders.
44 இயேசுவைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பவன், தான் அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு சைகையைக் காண்பிப்பதாகச் சொல்லியிருந்தான்: “நான் யாரை முத்தமிடுகிறேனோ, அவரே இயேசு; அவரைக் கைதுசெய்து, காவலுடன் கூட்டிச் செல்லுங்கள்” என்று சொல்லியிருந்தான்.
And he that betraied him, had giuen them a token, saying, Whomsoeuer I shall kisse, he it is: take him and leade him away safely.
45 யூதாஸ் இயேசுவுக்கு அருகில் வந்து, “போதகரே!” என்று சொல்லி, அவரை முத்தமிட்டான்.
And assoone as hee was come, hee went straightway to him, and saide, Haile Master, and kissed him.
46 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இயேசுவைப் பிடித்து, அவரைக் கைது செய்தார்கள்.
Then they laide their handes on him, and tooke him.
47 அவ்வேளையில், அங்கு நின்று கொண்டிருந்தவர்களில் ஒருவன், தன்னுடைய வாளை எடுத்து பிரதான ஆசாரியனின் வேலைக்காரனை வெட்டினான்; அவனுடைய காது வெட்டுண்டது.
And one of them that stoode by, drewe out a sword, and smote a seruant of the hie Priest, and cut off his eare.
48 இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “நான் ஆபத்தான புரட்சியை உண்டாக்குகிறேனா, அதனாலேயா என்னைப் பிடிப்பதற்கு வாள்களுடனும் தடிகளுடனும் வந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்?
And Iesus answered and saide to them, Ye be come out as against a thiefe with swordes, and with staues, to take me.
49 ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் ஆலய முற்றத்திலே போதித்துக்கொண்டு, உங்களோடு தானே இருந்தேன். அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் என்னைக் கைதுசெய்யவில்லை. ஆம், வேதவசனங்கள் நிறைவேற வேண்டுமே” என்றார்.
I was daily with you teaching in the Temple, and yee tooke me not: but this is done that the Scriptures should be fulfilled.
50 அப்பொழுது எல்லோரும், இயேசுவைத் தனியே விட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.
Then they all forsooke him, and fled.
51 இயேசுவைப் பின்பற்றிய ஒரு இளைஞன், மென்பட்டு மேலுடையை உடுத்திக் கொண்டவனாய் இருந்தான். அவர்கள் அவனைப் பிடிக்க முயன்றபோது,
And there followed him a certaine yong man, clothed in linnen vpon his bare bodie, and the yong men caught him.
52 அவன் தன்னுடைய மேலுடையை விட்டுவிட்டு, நிர்வாணமாய்த் தப்பி ஓடினான்.
But he left his linnen cloth, and fled from them naked.
53 அவர்கள் இயேசுவை பிரதான ஆசாரியனிடம் கொண்டுப் போனார்கள். அங்கே எல்லா தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும், யூதரின் தலைவர்களும், மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்களும் ஒன்றுகூடி இருந்தார்கள்.
So they led Iesus away to the hie Priest, and to him came together all the hie Priestes, and the Elders, and the Scribes.
54 பேதுரு சிறிது தூரத்தில் இயேசுவைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து போய், பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய முற்றத்திற்குள் போனான். அங்கே, அவன் காவலாளிகளுடன் நெருப்பின் அருகே உட்கார்ந்து குளிர்காய்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தான்.
And Peter folowed him afarre off, euen into the hall of the hie Priest, and sate with the seruants, and warmed himselfe at the fire.
55 தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும், ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தில் இருந்த அனைவரும் இயேசுவுக்கு மரண தண்டனை கொடுப்பதற்காக, அவருக்கு எதிரான சாட்சியைத் தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு சாட்சியும் கிடைக்கவில்லை.
And the hie Priests, and all the Councill sought for witnesse against Iesus, to put him to death, but found none.
56 பலர் இயேசுவுக்கு எதிராகப் பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொன்னார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் சொன்னவை, ஒன்றுக்கொன்று ஒத்துப்போகவில்லை.
For many bare false witnesse against him, but their witnesse agreed not together.
57 பின்பு சிலர் எழுந்து நின்று, இயேசுவுக்கு எதிராக பொய்ச்சாட்சி கொடுத்தார்கள்:
Then there arose certaine, and bare false witnesse against him, saying,
58 “மனிதருடைய கைகளினால் கட்டப்பட்ட இந்த ஆலயத்தை நான் இடித்துப்போட்டு பின்பு மூன்று நாட்களில், நான் கைகளினால் கட்டப்படாத, வேறொரு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுவேன் என்று இவன் சொன்னதை நாங்கள் கேட்டோம்” என்றார்கள்.
We hearde him say, I will destroy this Temple made with hands, and within three daies I will builde another, made without hands.
59 அப்பொழுதுங்கூட, அவர்களுடைய சாட்சி ஒன்றுக்கொன்று வேறுபட்டது.
But their witnesse yet agreed not together.
60 அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியன் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக எழுந்து நின்று, இயேசுவிடம், “நீ பதில் சொல்லமாட்டாயோ? இவர்கள் உனக்கு எதிராய் கொடுக்கிற சாட்சி என்ன?” கேட்டான்.
Then the hie Priest stoode vp amongst them, and asked Iesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is the matter that these beare witnesse against thee?
61 ஆனால் இயேசுவோ ஒன்றும் பேசாதிருந்தார், பதில் எதுவும் சொல்லவில்லை. மீண்டும் பிரதான ஆசாரியன் அவரைப் பார்த்து, “நீ போற்றப்பட்டவரின் மகனான கிறிஸ்துவா?” என்று கேட்டான்.
But hee helde his peace, and answered nothing. Againe the hie Priest asked him, and sayde vnto him, Art thou that Christ the Sonne of the Blessed?
62 அதற்கு இயேசு, “ஆம், நானே அவர், மானிடமகனாகிய நான் வல்லமையுள்ள இறைவனுடைய வலதுபக்கத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பதையும், வானத்தின் மேகங்கள்மேல் வருவதையும் நீங்கள் காண்பீர்கள்” என்றார்.
And Iesus said, I am he, and yee shall see the Sonne of man sitte at the right hande of the power of God, and come in the clouds of heauen.
63 அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியன் தன்னுடைய உடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, “இனியும் நமக்குச் சாட்சிகள் வேண்டுமோ?
Then the hie Priest rent his clothes, and sayd, What haue we any more neede of witnesses?
64 இவன் இறைவனை நிந்தித்துப் பேசியதை நீங்கள் கேட்டீர்களே. இதைப்பற்றி நீங்கள் என்ன நினைக்கிறீர்கள்?” என்றான். அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இயேசுவை, இவன் சாக வேண்டியவன் எனத் தீர்ப்புக் கூறினார்கள்.
Ye haue heard the blasphemie: what thinke yee? And they all condemned him to be worthie of death.
65 அப்பொழுது சிலர், இயேசுவின்மேல் துப்பத் தொடங்கினார்கள். அவர்கள் அவருடைய கண்களைக் கட்டிவிட்டு, தங்களுடைய கைகளால் அவரை குத்தி, “தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்!” என்று சொன்னபின்பு, காவலாளிகளும் அவரைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டுபோய் அடித்தார்கள்.
And some began to spit at him, and to couer his face, and to beate him with fists, and to say vnto him, Prophesie. And the sergeants smote him with their roddes.
66 அவ்வேளையில் பேதுரு கீழே அந்த முற்றத்திலேயே இருந்தான். அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியனின் வேலைக்காரிகளில் ஒருத்தி அவ்வழியாய் வந்தாள்.
And as Peter was beneath in the hal, there came one of the maides of the hie Priest.
67 அவள் பேதுரு குளிர்காய்ந்து கொண்டிருப்பதைக் கண்டாள். அவனை உற்றுப்பார்த்து, “நீயும் நாசரேத் ஊரானாகிய அந்த இயேசுவோடுகூட இருந்தவன்” என்றாள்.
And when shee sawe Peter warming him selfe, shee looked on him, and sayde, Thou wast also with Iesus of Nazareth.
68 ஆனால் அவனோ, “எனக்குத் தெரியாது, நீ என்ன சொல்கிறாய் என்று எனக்கு விளங்கவும் இல்லை” என்று மறுதலித்தான். அவன் இவ்வாறு சொல்லிவிட்டு, முற்றத்தின் வாசல் பக்கமாய் போனான். அப்பொழுது சேவல் கூவிற்று.
But he denied it, saying, I knowe him not, neither wot I what thou saiest. Then he went out into the porche, and the cocke crewe.
69 அந்த வேலைக்காரி அவனை அங்கேயும் கண்டு, அங்கே சுற்றி இருந்தவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “இவனும் அவர்களில் ஒருவன்” என்றாள்.
Then a maid sawe him againe, and bega to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.
70 பேதுரு மீண்டும் அதை மறுதலித்தான். சிறிது நேரத்திற்குப் பின்பு அங்கு நின்றவர்கள் பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து, “நிச்சயமாகவே நீ அவர்களில் ஒருவன். ஏனென்றால் நீ ஒரு கலிலேயன்” என்றார்கள்.
But hee denied it againe: and anon after, they that stoode by, sayde againe to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art of Galile, and thy speach is like.
71 அப்பொழுது பேதுரு, “நீங்கள் சொல்கிற அந்த மனிதனை எனக்குத் தெரியாது” என்று சபிக்கவும் சத்தியம் செய்யவும் தொடங்கினான்.
And he began to curse, and sweare, saying, I knowe not this man of whom ye speake.
72 உடனே சேவல் இரண்டாம் முறையாக கூவியது. அப்பொழுது, “சேவல் கூவுவதற்கு முன்னே, நீ என்னை மூன்றுமுறை மறுதலிப்பாய்” என்று இயேசு சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளைப் பேதுரு நினைவுகூர்ந்தான். அவன் மனம்வருந்தி அழுதான்.
Then the seconde time the cocke crewe, and Peter remembred the woorde that Iesus had saide vnto him, Before the cocke crowe twise, thou shalt denie me thrise, and waying that with himselfe, he wept.
