எரேமியா 17

1 “யூதாவின் பாவம், இரும்பு எழுத்தாணியால் செதுக்கப்பட்டு, வைரத்தின் நுனியினால் பொறிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அது அவர்களுடைய இருதயமாகிய கற்பலகையிலும், அவர்களின் பலிபீடத்தின் கொம்புகளிலும் செதுக்கப்பட்டும் பொறிக்கப்பட்டும் உள்ளது.

The sin of Judah is written down with a pen of iron, with the point of a diamond: it is engraved upon the table of their heart, and on the horns of your altars.

2 அவர்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளுங்கூட பச்சையான மரங்களுக்கருகிலும் உயர்ந்த குன்றுகளின்மேலுள்ள மேடைகளையும், அசேரா விக்கிரக தூண்களையும் நினைவில் வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

Like their remembrance of their children, so are [to them] their altars and their groves by [every] green tree upon the high hills.

3 நாட்டிலுள்ள என் மலையையும், உன் செல்வத்தையும், உன் பொக்கிஷங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும், அதோடுகூட உயர்ந்த உன் மேடைகளையும் கொள்ளைப்பொருளாக நான் கொடுப்பேன். உன் நாடெங்குமுள்ள பாவத்தின் நிமித்தம் இப்படிச் செய்வேன்.

O my mountain in the field, thy substance, all thy treasures will I give up for spoil, thy high-places [reared] with sin, throughout all thy borders.

4 நான் உனக்குத் தந்த உரிமைச்சொத்தை உன் குற்றத்தினாலேயே நீ இழந்து விடுவாய். நீ அறியாத நாட்டில் நான் உன்னை உன் பகைவருக்கு அடிமையாக்குவேன். ஏனெனில் நீ என் கோபத்தை மூட்டியிருக்கிறாய். அது என்றைக்கும் எரிந்துகொண்டேயிருக்கும்.”

And thou shalt be cast out, yea through thy own guilt, from thy heritage which I have given thee; and I will cause thee to serve thy enemies in a land which thou knowest not; for a fire have ye kindled in my anger, for ever shall it burn.

5 யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “மனிதரில் தன் நம்பிக்கையை வைத்து, தன் பெலனுக்காக மாம்சத்தைச் சார்ந்து, யெகோவாவைவிட்டு தனது இருதயத்தை விலக்கிக்கொள்கிறவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன்.

Thus hath said the Lord, Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and placeth on flesh his dependence, while from the Lord his heart departeth.

6 அவன் பாழ்நிலத்திலுள்ள புதரைப்போல இருப்பான். அவன் செழிப்பு வரும்போது, அதைக் காணமாட்டான். அவன் யாரும் வசிக்க முடியாத உவர் நிலத்திலும், பாலைவனத்திலுள்ள வறண்ட இடங்களிலும் தங்கியிருப்பான்.

And he shall be like a lonely tree in the desert, which feeleth not when the good cometh; but abideth in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salty land which cannot be inhabited.

7 “ஆனால் யெகோவாவிடம் நம்பிக்கை வைத்து, அவரை உறுதியாய் நம்புகிற மனிதன் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவன்.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and the Lord will be his trust.

8 அவன் தண்ணீரின் ஓரத்தில் நடப்பட்டு நீரூற்றருகில் தனது வேர்களை விடும் மரத்தைப்போல இருப்பான். வெப்பம் வரும்போது அது பயப்படுவதில்லை. எப்போதும் அதன் இலைகள் பச்சையாயிருக்கும். வறட்சியான வருடத்தில் அதற்குக் கவலை இல்லை. அது பழங்கொடுக்கத் தவறுவதில்லை.”

And he shall be like a tree that is planted by the waters, and by a stream spreadeth out its roots, which feeleth not when heat cometh, but its leaf remaineth green; and in a year of drought it is undisturbed by care, and ceaseth not from yielding fruit.

9 எல்லாவற்றிலும் பார்க்க இருதயமே வஞ்சனையுள்ளது. அதைக் குணமாக்கவே முடியாது. அதை உணர்ந்து கொள்ளக்கூடியவன் யார்?

Deceitful is the heart above all things, and sick: who can know it?

10 “யெகோவாவாகிய நானே இருதயத்தை ஆராய்ந்து, மனதைச் சோதித்துப் பார்க்கிறவர். மனிதனுக்கு அவனுடைய நடத்தைக்குத்தக்க வெகுமதி கொடுப்பதும், அவனுடைய செயல்களுக்குத்தக்க பலனளிப்பதும் நானே.”

I the Lord search the heart, probe the reins: yea, to give unto every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.

11 அநீதியான முறைகளால் தன் செல்வத்தைச் சேர்க்கிறவன், தான் இடாத முட்டைகளை அடைகாக்கும் கவுதாரிக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறான்; அவனுடைய வாழ்வின் பாதி நாட்கள் போனபின், அவனுடைய செல்வங்கள் அவனைவிட்டு நீங்கிப்போய்விடும்; முடிவிலோ அவன் தன்னை மூடன் என நிரூபிப்பான்.

As a cuckoo that sitteth on eggs which he hath not laid, so is he that get the riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days shall he leave them, and at his end shall be called wicked.

12 எங்களுடைய பரிசுத்த இடம் ஆதியிலிருந்தே உயர்த்தப்பட்ட மகிமையுள்ள அரியணையாயிருக்கிறது.

A throne of glory, exalted from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary!

13 யெகோவாவே, இஸ்ரயேலின் எதிர்ப்பார்ப்பே, உம்மைக் கைவிடும் யாவரும் வெட்கத்திற்குள்ளாவார்கள். உம்மைவிட்டு விலகுகிற அவர்கள் யாவரும் வாழும் நீரூற்றாகிய யெகோவாவைக் கைவிட்டபடியால், புழுதியில் அழிவார்கள்.

Hope of Israel, O Lord, all that forsake thee shall be made ashamed, and the backsliders among me shall be written down on the earth; because they have forsaken the fountain of living waters, the Lord.

14 யெகோவாவே, என்னைக் குணமாக்கும், நான் குணமாவேன். என்னைக் காப்பாற்றும், நான் காப்பாற்றப்படுவேன். ஏனெனில் நான் துதிக்கிறவர் நீரே.

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed: save me, and I shall be saved; for my praise art thou.

15 இந்த மக்களோ என்னிடம், “யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எங்கே? இப்போது அது நிறைவேறட்டும்” என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறார்கள்.

Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it come now.

16 நானோ உம்மைப் பின்பற்றும் மேய்ப்பனாயிருப்பதை விட்டு ஓடிவிடவில்லை. ஏமாற்றத்தின் நாளை நான் விரும்பவில்லை என்பதை நீர் அறிவீர். என் வாயின் வார்த்தைகள் உமக்குமுன் இருக்கின்றன.

As for me, I have not hastened to be a shepherd to follow thee; and the woeful day have I not longed for; thou knowest it: what came out of my lips was known before thee.

17 நீர் எனக்கு ஒரு பயங்கரமாக இராதேயும். பேராபத்து வரும்நாளில் நீரே என் அடைக்கலம்.

Be not a terror unto me: thou art my protection on the day of evil.

18 என்னைத் துன்புறுத்துகிறவர்கள் வெட்கத்துக்கு உள்ளாகட்டும், என்னையோ வெட்கப்பட விடாதிரும். அவர்கள் பயப்படட்டும், என்னையோ பயமின்றிக் காத்துக்கொள்ளும். பேராபத்தின் நாளை அவர்கள்மேல் வரப்பண்ணும். இரு மடங்கான அழிவினால் அவர்களை அழித்துவிடும்.

Let those be made ashamed that persecute me, but let not me be made ashamed: let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and strike them with a double breach.

19 யெகோவா என்னிடம் சொன்னது இதுவே: “யூதாவின் அரசர்கள் போய்வருகிறதான மக்கள் வாசலருகே போய் நில். எருசலேமின் மற்ற எல்லா வாசல்களிலும் போய் நில்.

Thus said the Lord unto me, Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah usually enter, and by which they usually go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;

20 அங்கே நீ அவர்களிடம், ‘இந்த வாசல்களில் உட்செல்லும் யூதாவின் அரசர்களே! யூதாவின் மக்களே! எருசலேமில் குடியிருக்கிறவர்களே! நீங்கள் யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள் என்று சொல்.

And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the Lord, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates.

21 யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே; எருசலேமின் வாசல்களின் வழியே ஓய்வுநாளில் ஒரு சுமையாவது சுமந்து செல்லாதிருக்கவும் அல்லது உள்ளே கொண்டுவராமல் இருக்கவும் கவனமாயிருங்கள்.

Thus hath said the Lord, Take heed for your souls, and bear no burden on the sabbath-day, nor bring it in through the gates of Jerusalem;

22 நீங்கள் ஓய்வுநாளில் உங்கள் வீடுகளிலிருந்து எந்தச் சுமையையும் கொண்டுவராமலும், எந்த ஒரு வேலையையும் செய்யாமலும் இருங்கள். அந்த நாளை நான் உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி, பரிசுத்த நாளாக கைக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்றேன்.

Nor shall you carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath-day, and no manner of work shall ye do, but hallow ye the sabbath-day, as I have commanded your fathers;

23 இருப்பினும் அவர்கள் அதைக் கேட்கவுமில்லை; கவனிக்கவுமில்லை. அவர்கள் பிடிவாதமுள்ளவர்களாய் என் புத்திமதியைக் கேட்காமலும், என் திருத்துதலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருந்தார்கள்.

But they hearkened not, and inclined not their ear; and they made their neck stiff, so as not to hearken, and not to receive instruction.

24 ஆனால் யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறதாவது, நீங்கள் எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியக் கவனமாயிருந்து, ஓய்வுநாளைப் பரிசுத்தமாய் கைக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அந்நாளில் இந்தப் பட்டணத்து வாசல்களுக்குள்ளே, ஒரு சுமையையும் கொண்டுவராமலும், ஒரு வேலையையும் செய்யாமலும் இருங்கள்.

And it shall come to pass, if ye will diligently hearken unto me, saith the Lord, so as to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath-day, and to hallow the sabbath-day, so as to do no work thereon:

25 அப்பொழுது தாவீதின் அரியணையில் அமரும் அரசர்கள், அவர்களுடைய அதிகாரிகளுடன் இந்தப் பட்டணத்து வாசல்களுக்குள் வருவார்கள். அவர்களும், அவர்கள் அதிகாரிகளும் தேர்களிலும், குதிரைகளிலும் ஏறி வருவார்கள். அவர்களுடன் யூதா மனிதர்களும் எருசலேமில் வாழ்பவர்களும் வருவார்கள். இப்பட்டணமும் என்றைக்கும் குடிமக்களை உடையதாயிருக்கும்.

Then shall there enter through the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall be inhabited for ever.

26 யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலும், எருசலேமைச் சுற்றியுள்ள கிராமங்களிலுமிருந்து மக்கள் வருவார்கள். பென்யமீன் பிரதேசத்திலிருந்தும், மேற்கு மலையடிவாரங்களிலிருந்தும், மலைநாட்டிலும், யூதாவின் தெற்குப் பகுதிகளிலிருந்தும் வருவார்கள். அவர்கள் தகன காணிக்கைகளையும், பலிகளையும், தானிய காணிக்கைகளையும், தூபங்களையும், நன்றியறிதல் காணிக்கைகளையும் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவருவார்கள்.

And there shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the environs of Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowlands, and from the mountain, and from the south, those that bring burnt-offerings, and sacrifices, and meat-offerings, and frankincense, and those that bring thanksgiving-offerings, unto the house of the Lord.

27 ஆனால் நீங்கள் எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல், ஓய்வுநாளை பரிசுத்தமாகக் கைக்கொள்ளத் தவறி, அந்த நாளில் பாரத்தைச் சுமந்துகொண்டு எருசலேமின் வாசல்களின் வழியே வருவீர்களானால், நான் எருசலேமின் வாசல்களில் அணைக்க முடியாத நெருப்பை மூட்டுவேன். அது எருசலேமின் அரண்களைச் சுட்டெரிக்கும்’ என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.”

But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath-day, and not to bear a burden, and to enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath-day: then will I kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
