Waefeso 4
1 Basi, mimi niliye mfungwa kwa kuwa namtumikia Bwana, nawasihi muishi maisha yanayostahili wito mlioitiwa.
I therefore, a prisoner for the sake of the Lord, exhort you to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all humility and meekness;
2 Muwe daima wanyenyekevu, wapole na wenye saburi; vumilianeni ninyi kwa ninyi kwa mapendo.
and with long-suffering forbear one another in love,
3 Fanyeni bidii ya kuhifadhi umoja uletwao na Roho kwa kuzingatia amani iliyo kati yenu.
endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace: for there is but one body and one Spirit,
4 Kuna mwili mmoja na Roho mmoja, kama vile tumaini mliloitiwa na Mungu ni moja.
even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 Kuna Bwana mmoja, imani moja na ubatizo mmoja;
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 kuna Mungu mmoja na Baba wa wote, ambaye yuko juu ya wote, afanya kazi katika yote na yuko katika yote.
one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.
7 Kila mmoja wetu amepewa neema kadiri ya kipimo alichojaliwa na Kristo.
But grace is given to each of us, according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Kama yasemavyo Maandiko: “Alipopaa mbinguni juu kabisa, alichukua mateka; aliwapa watu zawadi.”
Wherefore it is said, "When he ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."
9 Basi, inaposemwa: “alipaa juu,” ina maana gani? Maana yake ni kwamba, kwanza alishuka mpaka chini kabisa duniani.
Now this expression "He ascended" what does it mean, but that He descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 Basi, huyo aliyeshuka hapa duniani, ndiye aliyepaa juu ya mbingu zote apate kuujaza ulimwengu.
He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.
11 Ndiye aliyewapa watu zawadi: wengine aliwajalia wawe mitume, wengine manabii, wengine wawe waeneza Habari Njema, wengine wachungaji na walimu.
And therefore He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; to qualify holy men for the work of the ministry,
12 Alifanya hivyo apate kuwatayarisha watu wote wa Mungu kwa ajili ya kazi ya huduma ya Kikristo ili kuujenga mwili wa Kristo,
to the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 na hivyo sote tuufikie umoja wa imani na kumjua Mwana wa Mungu; tuwe watu waliokomaa na kuufikia utimilifu wake Kristo mwenyewe.
till we all arrive in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, at perfect maturity, even to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
14 Basi, hatutakuwa tena kama watoto, tukitupwa na kupeperushwa huko na huko kwa kila upepo wa mafundisho wanayozua watu wadanganyifu, ili wawapotoshe wengine kwa hila.
That we may be no longer children fluctuating and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the artful insinuations of men, and their crafty methods of deceiving;
15 Ila, sisi tukisema ukweli kwa moyo wa mapendo tutakua zidi katika kila jambo kulingana na Kristo ambaye ndiye kichwa;
but holding the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him, who is the head, even Christ:
16 chini ya uongozi wake, viungo vyote vya mwili hushikamana pamoja, na mwili wote hutegemezwa kwa msaada wa viungo vyake. Basi, kila kiungo kikitekeleza kazi yake ipasavyo, mwili wote hukua na kujijenga katika upendo.
from whom the whole body being fitly joined together and compacted by the aid of every joint, according to the operation proportioned to every part, maketh an increase to the edification of itself in love.
17 Basi, kwa jina la Bwana, nawaonyeni: msiishi tena kama watu wasiomjua Mungu, ambao fikira zao zimekuwa upuuzi mtupu,
This I say therefore, and charge you in the name of the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk,
18 na akili zao zimo gizani. Wako mbali na uzima wa Mungu, kwa sababu ya upumbavu ulio ndani yao na ukaidi wao.
in the vanity of their mind, darkened in their understanding, and alienated from the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, by reason of the hardness of their heart:
19 Wamepotoka na hawana aibu, wamejitosa katika ufisadi; hufanya kwa pupa kila aina ya mambo ya aibu.
who, being past feeling, have given themselves up to lasciviousness, to commit all uncleanness with greediness.
20 Lakini ninyi hamkujifunza hivyo juu ya Kristo.
But ye have not so learned Christ;
21 Ni dhahiri kwamba mlisikia barabara habari zake, na mkiwa wafuasi wake mkafundishwa ukweli ulivyo katika Yesu.
if ye have indeed hearkened to Him, and been instructed in Him, as the truth is in Jesus; to put off the old man,
22 Basi, acheni mwenendo wenu wa awali, yaani ule utu wenu wa kale uliokuwa unaangamizwa kwa tamaa zake danganyifu.
which according to your former conversation was corrupted with deceitful lusts,
23 Jirekebisheni upya rohoni na katika fikira zenu.
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 Vaeni hali mpya ya utu ambayo imeumbwa kwa mfano wa Mungu na ambayo hujionyesha katika maisha ya kweli ya uadilifu na utakatifu.
and to put on the new man, which according to the image of God is created in righteousness, and true holiness.
25 Kwa hiyo, acheni uongo. Kila mmoja anapaswa kumwambia mwenzake ukweli, maana kila mmoja wetu ni kiungo cha mwili wa Kristo.
Wherefore putting away lying, speak ye every one truth to his neighbor; for we are all members of one society.
26 Kama mkikasirika, msikubali hasira yenu iwafanye mtende dhambi, na wala msikae na hasira kutwa nzima.
Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath;
27 Msimpe Ibilisi nafasi.
and give not the devil room to ensnare you.
28 Aliyekuwa akiiba, asiibe tena, bali na aanze kufanya kazi njema kwa mikono yake, apate kuwa na kitu cha kumsaidia mtu aliye maskini.
Let him that stole steal no more; but rather let him labour, doing some good with his hands, that he may have something to bestow on him that hath need of it.
29 Maneno mabaya hata yasisikike kamwe miongoni mwenu; kila mara maneno yenu yawe ya kufaa na ambayo hujenga na kuwasaidia wengine, ili yawaneemeshe wasikilizaji wenu.
Let no corrupt word come out of your mouth; but what is good to useful edification, that it may benefit the hearers.
30 Msimhuzunishe Roho Mtakatifu wa Mungu maana Roho huyo ni alama ya Mungu kwenu kwamba ninyi ni watu wake, na thibitisho kwamba siku itakuja ambapo Mungu atawakomboeni.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God whereby ye are sealed to the day of redemption.
31 Basi, achaneni na uhasama, chuki, hasira, kelele, matusi! Achaneni na kila uovu!
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and fury, and clamor, and calumny, be put away from you, with all malice: and be kind one to another,
32 Muwe na moyo mwema na wenye kuhurumiana; kila mmoja na amsamehe mwenzake kama naye Mungu alivyowasamehe ninyi kwa njia ya Kristo.
tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgiveth you.
