2 Wafalme 10
1 Basi Ahabu alikuwa na watoto sabini katika Samaria. Yehu akaandika barua na kuzituma kwenda Samaria, kwa watawala wa Yezreeli, pamoja na wazee na walinzi wa wana wa Ahabu akisema,
Ahab had nowe seuentie sonnes in Samaria. And Iehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria vnto the rulers of Izreel, and to the Elders, and to the bringers vp of Ahabs children, to this effect,
2 “Wana wa bwana wako wako pamoja na wewe, na wewe pia una magari ya farasi na farasi na kuimarisha mji dhidi ya maadui na silaha. Hivyo basi, haraka iwezekanavyo barua hii ikufikiapo,
Nowe when this letter commeth to you, (for ye haue with you your masters sonnes, yee haue with you both charets and horses, and a defenced citie, and armour)
3 mchagueni aliye bora na anayestahili miongoni mwa mtoto wa bwana wenu na kumuweka kwenye kiti cha kifalme cha baba yake, na kupigania ufalme wa bwana wenu.”
Consider therefore which of your masters sonnes is best and most meete, and set him on his fathers throne, and fight for your masters house.
4 Lakini waliogopa na kusema miongoni mwao, “Tazama, wafalme wawili hawatasimama mbele ya Yehu. Hivyo tutasimamaje?”
But they were exceedingly afraid, and saide, Behold two Kings coulde not stande before him, how shall we then stand?
5 Kisha yule mtu ambaye alikuwa kiongozi kwenye nyumba ya mfalme, na wale waliowalea watoto, wakatuma ujumbe kwa Yehu, kusema, “Sisi ni watumishi wako. Tutafanya chochote utakacho tuamuru. Hatutamfanya mtu yeyote kuwa mfalme. Fanya lile lililojema machoni pako.”
And he that was gouernour of Ahabs house, and he that ruled the citie, and the Elders, and the bringers vp of the children sent to Iehu, saying, We are thy seruants, and will doe all that thou shalt bid vs: we will make no King: do what seemeth good to thee.
6 Kisha Yehu akaandika barua mara ya pili, akisema, “Kama mko upande wangu, na kama mtasikiliza sauti yangu, mtachukua vichwa vya watu wa wana wa mabwana wenu, na mje kwangu Yezreeli kesho mda kama huu.” Ndipo wana wa wafalme, sabini kwa hesabu, waliokuwa watu muhimu huko mjini, ambao walikuwa wakiwaleta.
Then he wrote another letter to them, saying, If ye be mine, and wil obey my voyce, take the heads of ye men that are your masters sonnes, and come to me to Izreel by to morowe this time. (Nowe the Kings sonnes, euen seuentie persons were with the great men of the citie, which brought them vp)
7 Hivyo barua ilipokuja kwao, waliwachukua wana wa wafalme na kisha kuwaua, watu sabini, wakaweka vichwa vyao kwenye vikapu, na kuivituma kwa Yehu katika Yezreeli.
And when the letter came to them, they tooke the Kings sonnes, and slewe the seuentie persons, and layde their heads in baskets, and sent them vnto him to Izreel.
8 Mjumbe mmoja akaja kwa Yehu, akisema, “Wamevileta vile vichwa vya watoto wa wafalme.” Hivyo akasema, viwekeni kwenye mafungu mawili kwenye lango hadi asubuhi.”
Then there came a messenger and tolde him, saying, They haue brought the heads of the Kings sonnes. And he sayd, Let them lay them on two heapes at the entring in of the gate vntil the morning.
9 Asubuhi Yehu akatoka nje na kusimama, na kusema kwa watu wote, “Ninyi hamna hatia. Tazameni, nimefanya fitina dhidi ya bwana wangu na kumuua, lakini ni nani aliyewaua hawa wote?
And when it was day, he went out, and stood and sayd to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?
10 Sasa hakika tafakarini kwamba hakuna sehemu ya neno la Yahwe, lile alilonena Yahwe kuhusu familia ya Ahabu, itaanguka kwenye aridhini, kwa kuwa Yahwe amefanya kile alichokiongea kupitia mtumishi wake Eliya.”
Knowe nowe that there shall fall vnto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the Lord hath brought to passe the things that hee spake by his seruant Eliiah.
11 Basi Yehu akawaua wote waliokuwa wamebakia wa familia ya Ahabu katika Yezreeli, na watu wake muhimu wote, marafiki zake wa karibu, na makuhani wake, hakuna hata mmoja wao alisalia.
So Iehu slew al that remained of the house of Ahab in Izreel, and all that were great with him, and his familiars and his priestes, so that he let none of his remaine.
12 Kisha Yehu akainuka na kuondoka; akaenda Samaria. Kadiri alivyokuwa akikaribia Bethi Ekedi ya wachungaji,
And he arose, and departed and came to Samaria. And as Iehu was in the way by an house where the shepheards did shere,
13 akamlaki na ndugu wa Ahazia mfalme wa Yuda. Yehu akawaambia, “Ninyi ni akina nani?” Wakajibu, “Sisi ni ndugu zake na Ahazia, na tunashuka chini kuwasalimia watoto wa mfalme na watoto wa Malkia Yezebeli.”
He met with the brethre of Ahaziah king of Iudah, and sayd, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah, and goe downe to salute the children of the King and the children of the Queene.
14 Yehu akawaambia watu wake mwenyewe, “Wachukue wakiwa hai.” Hivyo wakawachukua wakiwa hai na kuwaua kwenye kisima cha Bethi Ekedi, watu wote arobaini na mbili. Hakumwacha hata mmoja wao akiwa hai.
And he sayde, Take them aliue. And they tooke them aliue, and slew them at the well beside the house where the sheepe are shorne, euen two and fourtie men, and he left not one of them.
15 Baada ya Yehu kuondoka huko, akakutana na Yehonadabu mwana wa Rekabu anakuja kukutana naye. Yehu akamsalimia na kisha akamwambia, “Je moyo wako uko na mimi, kama moyo wangu ulivyo pamoja na wako?” Yehonadabu akajibu, Ndio.” Yehu akasema, “kama ni ndio, nipatie mkono wako.” Kisha Yehonadabu akampatia mkono wake, na Yehu akampandisha Yehonadabu juu kwenye magari ya farasi pamoja naye.
And when he was departed thence, hee met with Iehonadab the sonne of Rechab comming to meete him, and he blessed him, and sayde to him, Is thine heart vpright, as mine heart is towarde thine? And Iehonadab answered, Yea, doubtlesse. Then giue me thine hande. And when he had giuen him his hande, he tooke him vp to him into the charet.
16 Yehu akasema, “Fuatana pamoja nami na uone wivu wangu kwa Yahwe.” Hivyo alikuwa na Yehonadabu akiendesha gari la farasi.
And he sayde, Come with me, and see the zeale that I haue for the Lord: so they made him ride in his charet.
17 Wakati alipokuja Samaria, Yehu akawaua wote waliobakia kutoka uzao wa Ahabu katika Samaria, hata akawaangamiza ukoo wa kifalme wa Ahabu, kama walivyokuwa wameambiwa kabla ya neno la Yahwe, ambalo aliloambiwa Eliya.
And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained vnto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the worde of the Lord, which he spake to Eliiah.
18 Kisha Yehu akawakusanya watu wote akwaambia, “Ahabu alimtumikia Baali kidogo, lakini Yehu atamtumikia sana.
Then Iehu assembled all the people, and sayd vnto them, Ahab serued Baal a litle, but Iehu shall serue him much more.
19 Basi niitieni manabii wote wa Baali, wote wamwabuduo, na makuhani wake wote. Asikosekane mtu hata mmoja, kwa kuwa nina dhabihu kubwa nataka kutoa kwa Baali. Yeyote atakayeshindwa kuja hataishi.” Lakini Yehu alifanya haya kwa udanganyifu, kwa dhamira ya kuwaua wanaomwabudu Baali.
Now therefore call vnto me all ye prophets of Baal, all his seruants, and all his priests, and let not a man be lacking: for I haue a great sacrifice for Baal: whosoeuer is lacking, he shall not liue. But Iehu did it by a subtiltie to destroy ye seruats of Baal.
20 Yehu akasema, “Tengeni mda tuwe na mkutano kwa ajili ya Baali.” Hivyo wakalitangaza.
And Iehu sayd, Proclaime a solemne assemblie for Baal. And they proclaimed it.
21 Kisha Yehu akatuma Israeli yote na wamwabuduo Baali waje, hivyo basi hakuna mtu hata mmoja ambaye aliacha kuja. Walikuja kwenye hekalu la Baali, na ilijaa kutoka mwanzo hadi mwisho.
So Iehu sent vnto all Israel, and all the seruants of Baal came, and there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal, and the house of Baal was full from ende to ende.
22 Yehu akamwambia yule mtu aliyekuwa anatunza kabati la nguo za makuhani, “Uwatolee mavazi wote wamwabuduo Baali.” Basi yule mtu akawatolea nguo.
Then he said vnto him that had the charge of the vestrie, Bring forth vestments for al the seruants of Baal. And he brought the out vestments.
23 Basi Yehu akaingia pamoja na Yohonadabu mwana wa Rekabu kwenye nyumba ya Baali, na kisha akawaambia wanaomwabudu Baali, “Tafuteni na muhahakishe kwamba hakuna mtu hapa pamoja na ninyi kutoka watumishi wa Yahwe, lakini wamwabuduo Baali peke yao.”
And when Iehu went, and Iehonadab the sonne of Rechab into the house of Baal, he sayde vnto the seruants of Baal, Searche diligently, and looke, lest there be here with you any of the seruants of the Lord, but the seruants of Baal only.
24 Kisha wakaenda kutoa dhabihu na sadaka ya kutekeza. Basi Yehu alichagua watu themanini ambao walikuwa wamesimama nje, na aliwaambia, Kama mtu yeyote miongoni mwa hawa watu ambao nimewaleta kwenye mikono yenu atoroke, yeyote atakayemwacha huyo mtu atoroke, maisha yake yatachukuliwa kwa ajili ya yule aliyeokoka.”
And when they went in to make sacrifice and burnt offering, Iehu appoynted foure score men without, and sayd, If any of the men whome I haue brought into your hands, escape, his soule shalbe for his soule.
25 Hivyo kisha baada ya mda mfupi Yehu alipomaliza kutoa sadaka ya kutekezwa, akamwambia mlinzi na manahodha, “Ingieni na muwaue. Msimwache mtu yeyote atoke.” Basi waliwaua kwa makali ya upanga, na mlinzi na manahodha wakawatupa nje na kwenda kwenye chumba cha ndani cha nyumba ya Baali.
And when hee had made an ende of the burnt offring, Iehu sayde to the garde, and to the captaines, Goe in, slay them, let not a man come out. And they smote them with the edge of the sworde. And the garde, and the captaines cast them out, and went vnto the citie, where was the temple of Baal.
26 Wakazitoa nguzo za mawe ambazo zilikuwa kwenye nyumba ya Baali, na kisha kuzichoma.
And they brought out the images of the temple of Baal, and burnt them.
27 Kisha wakazivunja zile nguzo za Baali, na kuiharibu nyumba ya Baali na kuifanya choo, ambacho kipo hadi leo.
And they destroyed the image of Baal, and threwe downe the house of Baal, and made a iakes of it vnto this day.
28 Hivi ndivyo ambavyo Yehu alivyomharibu muabudu Baali kutoka Israeli.
So Iehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
29 Lakini Yehu hakuacha dhambi za Yeroboamu mwana wa Nebati, ambayo ilfanya Israeli kutenda dhambi-ambayo ni, kumwabudu ndama wa dhahabu katika Betheli na Dani.
But from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat which made Israel to sinne, Iehu departed not from them, neither from the golden calues that were in Beth-el and that were in Dan.
30 Hivyo Yahwe akamwambia Yehu, “Kwa kuwa umefanya vema kwa kufanya yaliyo sahihi kwenye macho yangu, na kumailiza kwenye nyumba ya Ahabu kulingana na yote yaliyokuwa kwenye moyo wangu, uzao wako utakaa kwenye kiti cha Israeli hadi kizazi cha nne.”
And the Lord sayde vnto Iehu, Because thou hast diligently executed that which was right in mine eyes, and hast done vnto the house of Ahab according to all things that were in mine heart, therefore shall thy sonnes vnto the fourth generation sit on the throne of Israel.
31 Lakini Yehu hakujali kutembea kwenye sheria ya Yahwe, Mungu wa Israeli, kwa moyo wake wote. Hakugeuka kutoka kwenye dhambi za Yeroboamu, ambayo iliwafanya Israeli kutende dhambi.
But Iehu regarded not to walke in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for hee departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam, which made Israel to sinne.
32 Siku zile Yahwe akaanza kupunguza mikoa ya Israeli, na Hazaeli kuwashinda Waisraeli mipakani mwa Israeli,
In those dayes the Lord began to lothe Israel, and Hazael smote them in all the coastes of Israel,
33 kutoka Yordani upande wa mashariki, nchi yote ya Gileadi, Wagadi, na Wareubeni, na Wamanase, kutoka Aroeri, alipo karibu na bonde la Arnoni, kupita Geleadi hadi Bashani.
From Iorden Eastward, euen all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and them that were of Manasseh, from Aroer (which is by the riuer Arnon) and Gilead and Bashan.
34 Kama kwa mambo mengine yamhusuyo Yehu, na yote aliyoyafanya, na ushujaa wake, je hayakuandikwa kwenye kitabu cha matukio ya wafalme wa Israeli?
Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehu, and all that he did, and all his valiant deedes, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
35 Yehu akalala na wazee wake, na walimzika katika Samaria. Kisha Yehoahazi mwanaye akawa mfalme katika sehemu yake.
And Iehu slept with his fathers, and they buryed him in Samaria, and Iehoahaz his sonne reigned in his stead.
36 Mda ambao Yehu alitawala juu ya Israeli katika Samaria ulikuwa miaka ishini na nane.
And the time that Iehu reigned ouer Israel in Samaria is eight and twentie yeeres.
