1 Wimbo wa kwenda juu. Katika dhiki yangu namwita Bwana, naye hunijibu.

When I had troubles, I called out to Yahweh and he answered me.

2 Ee Bwana, uniokoe kutoka midomo ya uongo na ndimi za udanganyifu.

[I prayed], “Yahweh, rescue/save me from people [SYN, MTY] who lie to me and [try to] deceive me!”

3 Atakufanyia nini, au akufanyie nini zaidi, ewe ulimi mdanganyifu?

You people who lie to me, [I will tell you] [RHQ] what [God] will do to you and what he will do to punish you.

4 Atakuadhibu kwa mishale mikali ya shujaa, kwa makaa yanayowaka ya mti wa mretemu.

5 Ole wangu kwa kuwa naishi Mesheki, kwamba naishi katikati ya hema za Kedari!

I have lived for a long time among people who hate [to live with others] peacefully.

7 Mimi ni mtu wa amani; lakini ninaposema, wao wanataka vita.

Every time I talk about living together peacefully, they talk about starting a war.
