Salmos 2

1 ¿Por qué las naciones se alborotan tan violentamente, y por qué los pensamientos de la gente son tan tontos?

Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?

2 Los reyes de la tierra tomaron su lugar, y los gobernantes juntos consultarán unidos. contra el Señor y contra el rey escogido, diciendo:

The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together, —against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One [saying]:

3 ¡Sean rotas sus cadenas, y sus cuerdas sean quitadas de nosotros!

Let us break asunder their bonds, —and cast from us their cords!

4 Entonces aquel que mora en los cielos se reirá; el Señor se burlará de ellos.

He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh, —My Lord, will mock at them:

5 Entonces vendrán sus palabras de ira a oídos de ellos, y con su ira se asustarán.

Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:

6 Pero he puesto a mi rey en mi santo monte de Sión.

Yet, I, have installed my king, —on Zion my holy mountain.

7 Dejaré en claro la decisión del Señor: él me ha dicho: Tú eres mi hijo, hoy te he engendrado.

Let me tell of a decree, —Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:

8 Pídeme, y yo te daré las naciones por tu herencia, y los límites más lejanos de la tierra estarán bajo tu mano.

Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:

9 Ellos serán gobernados por ti con una vara de hierro; se romperán como el vaso de un alfarero.

Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron, —as a potter’s vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.

10 Así que ahora sean sabios, ustedes reyes: tomen su enseñanza, jueces de la tierra.

Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:

11 Adoren al Señor con reverencia y alegría, postrándose a sus pies y dándole honor,

Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:

12 Honren al Hijo, Por temor a que él se enoje, haciendo que la destrucción venga sobre ustedes en el camino. porque él se enoja rápidamente. Felices son todos los que ponen su fe en él.

Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger, —How happy are all who seek refuge in him!
