Proverbios 7
1 Hijo mío, cumple mis palabras y deja que mis reglas estén guardadas en tu mente.
[My] son, keep my words, and hide with thee my commandments. [My] son, honour the Lord, and thou shalt be strong; and fear none but him:
2 Guarda mis reglas y tendrás vida; deja que mi enseñanza sea para ti como la luz de tus ojos;
keep my commandments, and thou shalt live; and [keep] my words as the pupils of [thine] eyes.
3 Déjalos moslos fijar en tus dedos, y grabados en tu corazón.
And bind them on thy fingers, and write [them] on the table of thine heart.
4 Di a la sabiduría: Tú eres mi hermana; que el conocimiento se llame tu amigo especial:
Say that wisdom is thy sister, and gain prudence as an acquaintance for thyself;
5 para que te guarden de la mujer adúltera, de la mujer extraña de palabras seductoras.
that she may keep thee from the strange and wicked woman, if she should assail thee with flattering words.
6 Mirando desde mi casa, y mirando por la ventana,
For she looks from a window out of her house into the streets, at one whom she may see of the senseless ones, a young man void of understanding,
7 vi entre los jóvenes inexpertos, a uno más necio que todos.
passing by the corner in the passages near her house,
8 Caminando en la calle cerca del recodo de su camino, yendo hacia la casa de ella,
and speaking, in the dark of the evening,
9 Al anochecer, en el tarde del día, en la oscuridad negra de la noche.
when there happens [to be] the stillness of night and of darkness:
10 Y la mujer salió a él, con el vestido de una mujer prostituta, con un corazón astuto;
and the woman meets him having the appearance of a harlot, that causes the hearts of young men to flutter.
11 Ella es una mujer ligera y sin escrúpulos; sus pies no se quedan en su casa.
And she is fickle, and debauched, and her feet abide not at home.
12 Ahora está en la calle, ahora en los espacios abiertos, esperando en las esquinas.
For at one time she wanders without, and at [another] time she lies in wait in the streets, at every corner.
13 Entonces ella lo tomó de su mano, y lo besó, y sin vergüenza ella le dijo:
Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
14 Tengo un banquete de ofrendas de paz, porque hoy mis juramentos han sido efectuados.
I have a peace-offering; today I pay my vows:
15 Así que salí con la esperanza de conocerte, buscándote con cuidado, y ahora te tengo a ti.
therefore I came forth to meet thee, desiring thy face; [and] I have found thee.
16 Mi cama está cubierta con cojines de costura, con telas de colores del hilo de algodón de Egipto;
I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.
17 He hecho mi cama dulce con perfumes y especias.
I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.
18 Venga, disfrutemos de nuestro placer en el amor hasta la mañana, teniendo gozo en las delicias del amor.
Come, and let us enjoy love until the morning; come, and let us embrace in love.
19 Porque el dueño de la casa se aleja en un largo viaje:
For my husband is not at home, but is gone on a long journey,
20 Ha tomado una bolsa de dinero con él; él regresará a la luna llena.
having taken in his hand a bundle of money: after many days he will return to his house.
21 Con sus bellas palabras ella lo venció, lo convenció con sus labios seductores.
So with much converse she prevailed on him to go astray, and with the snares of her lips forced him from [the right path].
22 El hombre necio va tras ella, como un buey que va a morir, como un ciervo tirado por una cuerda;
And he followed her, being gently led on, and [that] as an ox is led to the slaughter, and as a dog to bonds, or as a hart shot in the liver with an arrow:
23 Como un pájaro cayendo en una red; sin pensar que su vida está en peligro, hasta que una flecha entra en su costado.
and he hastens as a bird into a snare, not knowing that he is running for [his] life.
24 Ahora, mis hijos, escúchenme; presten atención a los dichos de mi boca;
Now then, [my] son, hearken to me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 No vuelvas tu corazón a sus caminos, no vayas siguiendo sus pasos.
Let not thine heart turn aside to her ways:
26 Porque los heridos y humillados por ella son numerosos; y todos los que han muerto a través de ella son un gran ejército.
for she has wounded and cast down many, and those whom she has slain are innumerable.
