Proverbios 29
1 Un hombre que odia las palabras de reprensión endurece su corazón, de repente será destruido y no se recuperará.
A person who has received many rebukes but who stiffens his neck will be broken in a moment beyond healing.
2 Cuando los rectos tienen poder, la gente está contenta; cuando un hombre malo es el gobernante, la pena llega a la gente.
When righteous people increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked person is the ruler, the people sigh.
3 Un hombre amante de la sabiduría es un gozo para su padre; pero el que va en compañía de prostitutas es un derrochador de riquezas.
Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice, but he who keeps company with prostitutes destroys his wealth.
4 Un rey, por regla correcta, hace que la tierra sea segura; pero uno lleno de deseos la convierte en un desperdicio.
The king establishes the land by justice, but the one who demands bribes tears it down.
5 Un hombre que siempre adula a su vecino extiende una red para sus pasos.
A man who flatters his neighbor is spreading a net for his feet.
6 En los pasos de un hombre malo hay una red para él, pero el hombre recto escapa rápidamente y está contento.
In the sin of an evil person is a trap, but the righteous person sings and rejoices.
7 El hombre recto presta atención a la causa de los pobres: el malvado no piensa en ello.
The righteous person knows the rights of the poor; the wicked person does not understand such knowledge.
8 Los hombres de orgullo son la causa de los actos violentos en una ciudad, pero hombres sabios alejan la ira de los hombres.
Mockers set a city on fire, but those who are wise turn away wrath.
9 Si un hombre sabio va a la ley con un hombre necio, puede estar enojado o reírse, pero no habrá descanso.
When a wise person has an argument with a fool, he rages and laughs, and there will be no rest.
10 Los sanguinarios odian al hombre bueno, y los malvados van tras su alma.
The bloodthirsty hate the one who is blameless and seek the life of the upright.
11 Un hombre necio deja salir toda su ira, pero un hombre sabio lo guarda silenciosamente.
A fool reveals all his anger, but a wise man holds it back and calms himself down.
12 Si un gobernante presta atención a las palabras falsas, todos sus siervos son malvados.
If a ruler pays attention to lies, all his officials will be wicked.
13 El pobre y su acreedor se encuentran cara a cara: el Señor ilumina sus ojos por igual.
The poor person and the oppressor are similar, for Yahweh gives light to the eyes of them both.
14 El rey que es un verdadero juez en la causa de los pobres, estará a salvo para siempre en el trono de su poder.
If a king judges the poor by the truth, his throne will be established forever.
15 La vara y las palabras de corrección dan sabiduría; pero un niño que no es guiado es motivo de vergüenza para su madre.
The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child freed from discipline puts his mother to shame.
16 Cuando los hombres malvados están en el poder, aumentan las maldades; pero los rectos tendrán placer cuando vean su caída.
When wicked people are in power, transgression increases, but righteous people will see the downfall of those wicked people.
17 Entrena a tu hijo, y él te dará descanso; Él deleitará tu alma.
Discipline your son and he will give you rest; he will bring delights into your life.
18 Donde no hay visión, las personas están descontroladas; pero el que guarda la ley será feliz.
Where there is no prophetic vision the people run wild, but the one who keeps the law is blessed.
19 Un siervo no será entrenado por las palabras; porque aunque el sentido de las palabras es claro para él, no le dará atención.
A slave will not be corrected by words, for though he understands, there will be no response.
20 ¿Has visto a un hombre que es rápido con su lengua? Hay más esperanza para un hombre tonto que para él.
See a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
21 Si un sirviente es cuidado suavemente desde sus primeros años, al final se convertirá en una causa de dolor.
One who pampers his slave from youth, at the end of it there will be trouble.
22 Un hombre enojado es la causa de la contienda, y un hombre dado a la ira hace mucho mal.
An angry person stirs up strife and a master of rage commits many sins.
23 El orgullo de un hombre será la causa de su caída, pero el que tiene un espíritu apacible recibirá honor.
A person's pride brings him low, but one who has a humble spirit will be given honor.
24 Un hombre que toma parte con un ladrón tiene odio por su alma; él es puesto bajo juramento, pero no dice nada.
One who shares with a thief hates his own life; he hears the curse and says nothing.
25 El temor del hombre es causa de peligro; pero el que pone su fe en el Señor tendrá un lugar seguro en lo alto.
The fear of man makes a snare, but the one who trusts in Yahweh will be protected.
26 La aprobación de un gobernante es deseada por grandes números: pero la decisión en la causa de un hombre viene del Señor.
Many are those who seek the face of the ruler, but from Yahweh is justice for a person.
27 El hombre malo es repugnante para los rectos, y el que es recto es repugnante para los malvados.
An unjust man is an abomination to righteous people, but the one whose way is upright is detestable to the wicked person.
