Job 5
1 Grita ahora por ayuda; ¿Hay alguien que te dé una respuesta? ¿Y a cuál de los santos harás tu oración?
Call, I pray thee! Is there any that answereth thee? and to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn?
2 Porque la ira es la causa de la muerte para los necios, y el que no tiene sabiduría llega a su fin a través de su envidia.
For vexation killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the simple.
3 He visto a los tontos echar raíces, pero de repente maldije su morada.
I myself saw the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4 Ahora sus hijos no tienen un lugar seguro, y son destruidos en la puerta de la ciudad, y no hay nadie quien los libere.
His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, and there is no deliverer:
5 Su cosecha es tomada por el hambriento, y aun de los espinos saca su grano, y el ladrón anhela sus riquezas.
Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh even out of the thorns; and the snare gapeth for his substance.
6 Porque el mal no sale del polvo, ni los problemas salen de la tierra;
For evil cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
7 Pero los problemas son causa del hombre desde el nacimiento, así como las chispas salen volando del fuego.
For man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upwards.
8 Pero en cuanto a mí, haría mi oración a Dios, y pondría mi causa delante de él.
But as for me I will seek unto God, and unto God commit my cause;
9 Quien hace grandes cosas fuera de nuestro conocimiento, y maravillas innumerables:
Who doeth great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number;
10 Que da lluvia sobre la tierra, y envía agua a los campos.
Who giveth rain on the face of the earth, and sendeth waters on the face of the fields;
11 Levantando a los que están bajos, y poniendo a los tristes en un lugar seguro;
Setting up on high those that are low; and mourners are exalted to prosperity.
12 Que hace que los planes de los sabios vayan mal, de modo que no puedan cumplir sus propósitos.
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, and their hands carry not out the enterprise.
13 Él atrapa a los astutos en sus planes secretos, y los propósitos de los malvados fracasan.
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong:
14 Durante el día se oscurece para ellos, y al mediodía andan a tientas como si fuera de noche.
They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope at midday as in the night.
15 Pero él guarda al pobre de la espada de su boca, y a los pobres del poderoso.
And he saveth the needy from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
16 Entonces el pobre tiene esperanza, y la boca del malvado es detenida.
So the poor hath what he hopeth for, and unrighteousness stoppeth her mouth.
17 En verdad, ese hombre es feliz, cuando lo reprende Dios: así que no dejes que tu corazón esté cerrado a la enseñanza del Dios Todopoderoso.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth; therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.
18 Porque después de su castigo él da consuelo, y después de herir, sus manos sanan.
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
19 Él te mantendrá a salvo de seis problemas, y en siete ningún mal se te acercará.
He will deliver thee in six troubles, and in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 Cuando haya necesidad de comida, él te guardará de la muerte, y en la guerra del poder de la espada.
In famine he will redeem thee from death, and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Él te mantendrá a salvo de la lengua malvada; y no tendrás miedo de la destrucción cuando llegue.
Thou shalt be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 Harás burla de la destrucción y del hambre, y no temerás a las bestias de la tierra.
At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh, and of the beasts of the earth thou shalt not be afraid.
23 Porque estarás de aliado con las piedras de la tierra, y las bestias del campo estarán en paz contigo.
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 Y estarás seguro de que tu tienda está en paz, y después de revisar tu propiedad verás que nada se ha perdido.
And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; and thou wilt survey thy fold, and miss nothing.
25 Estarás seguro de que tu simiente será numerosa y tu descendencia como las plantas de la tierra.
And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thine offspring as the herb of the earth.
26 Llegarás a tu vejez con vigor, como él montón de trigo que se recoge a su tiempo.
Thou shalt come to the grave in a ripe age, as a shock of corn is brought in in its season.
27 Mira, lo hemos examinado con cuidado, y es así; óyelo; compruébalo por ti mismo.
Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thyself.
