1 Corintios 13
1 Si hablo las lenguas de los hombres y de los ángeles, y no tengo amor, soy como metal que resuena, o campana de gran voz.
For if I speak with the tongues of men and angels, and have not charity, I am but as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 Y si tengo el poder de un profeta, y tengo conocimiento de todas las cosas secretas; y si tengo toda la fe, por la cual las montañas pueden moverse de su lugar, pero no tengo amor, no soy nada.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and am acquainted with all mysteries, and all knowledge: yea if I have faith, even. to remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 Y si entrego todos mis bienes a los pobres, y si doy mi cuerpo para ser quemado, pero no tengo amor, de nada me sirve.
And though I give all my substance to feed the poor, and my body to be burnt, and have not charity, I am nothing profited.
4 El amor es sufrido; el amor es amable; el amor no tiene envidia; el amor no es presumido, el amor no tiene orgullo;
Charity beareth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity is not insolent, is not puffed up,
5 Los caminos del amor son siempre justos, no busca los suyo; no se enoja rápidamente, no guarda rencor;
doth not behave indecently, is not selfish, is not easily provoked,
6 No se complace en hacer mal, sino que se alegra de lo que es verdadero;
suspecteth no evil, rejoiceth not at injustice, but rejoiceth in the truth:
7 El amor tiene el poder de sufrir todas las cosas, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.
covereth all faults, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 El amor nunca deja de ser; pero las profecías se acabarán, las lenguas cesarán, y el conocimiento se acabará.
Charity never faileth: but as to prophecies, they shall be abolished; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall be laid aside.
9 Porque nuestro conocimiento es sólo en parte, y la palabra del profeta solo da una parte de lo que es verdadero:
For now we know but in part, and we prophesy but in part.
10 Pero cuando lo que es perfecto venga, entonces lo que es en parte se acabará.
But when that which is perfect shall come, then that which is defective shall be laid aside.
11 Cuando era niño, usé el lenguaje de un niño, tuve los sentimientos de un niño y los pensamientos de un niño: ahora que soy hombre, dejé atrás lo que era propio de un niño.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned as a child: but when I became a man, I laid aside childish things.
12 Porque ahora vemos cosas borrosas como en un espejo, a oscuras; pero luego lo veremos cara a cara: ahora mi conocimiento es en parte; pero un día lo conoceré todo del mismo modo que Dios me conoce a mí.
For we see now as through a mirror obscurely: but then we shall see face to face. Now I know but in part, but then I shall know even as I am known.
13 Pero ahora todavía tenemos fe, esperanza, amor, estos tres; y el mayor de estos es el amor.
And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three graces; but the greatest of these is love.
