Romanos 3
1 ¿Qué, pues, tiene más el Judío? ¿o cuál es el provecho de la circuncisión?
What is then the preferment of the Iewe? or what is the profite of circumcision?
2 Mucho en todas maneras. Lo primero ciertamente, porque los oráculos de Dios les han sido confiados.
Much euery maner of way: for chiefly, because vnto them were of credite committed the oracles of God.
3 ¿Porque qué hay, si algunos de ellos han sido incrédulos? ¿La incredulidad de ellos habrá por eso hecho vana la fe de Dios?
For what, though some did not beleeue? shall their vnbeliefe make the faith of God without effect?
4 En ninguna manera; antes, sea Dios veraz, y todo hombre mentiroso, como está escrito: Para que seas justificado en tus dichos, y venzas cuando fueres juzgado.
God forbid: yea, let God be true, and euery man a lyar, as it is written, That thou mightest be iustified in thy words, and ouercome, when thou art iudged.
5 Mas si nuestra iniquidad encarece la justicia de Dios, ¿qué diremos? ¿ Será por eso injusto Dios que da castigo? (hablo como hombre.)
Now if our vnrighteousnes comend the righteousnes of God, what shall we say? Is God vnrighteous which punisheth? (I speake as a man.)
6 En ninguna manera: de otro modo, ¿cómo juzgaría Dios el mundo?
God forbid: els how shall God iudge ye world?
7 Porque si la verdad de Dios con mi mentira creció a gloria suya, ¿por qué aun también soy yo juzgado como pecador?
For if the veritie of God hath more abounded through my lye vnto his glorie, why am I yet condemned as a sinner?
8 Y no, (como somos infamados, y como algunos aseguran, que nosotros decimos, ) ¿Hagamos males para que vengan bienes? la condenación de los cuales es justa.
And (as we are blamed, and as some affirme, that we say) why doe we not euil, that good may come thereof? whose damnation is iust.
9 ¿Pues qué? ¿Somos nosotros mejores que ellos? En ninguna manera; porque ya hemos acusado a Judíos y a Gentiles, que todos están debajo de pecado,
What then? are we more excellent? No, in no wise: for we haue alreadie prooued, that all, both Iewes and Gentiles are vnder sinne,
10 Como está escrito: No hay justo, ni aun solo uno:
As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one.
11 No hay quien entienda, no hay quien busque a Dios.
There is none that vnderstandeth: there is none that seeketh God.
12 Todos se apartaron del camino de la justicia, a una se han hecho inútiles: no hay quien haga lo bueno, no hay ni aun uno solo.
They haue all gone out of the way: they haue bene made altogether vnprofitable: there is none that doeth good, no not one.
13 Sepulcro abierto es su garganta: con sus lenguas tratan engañosamente: veneno de áspides está debajo de sus labios:
Their throte is an open sepulchre: they haue vsed their tongues to deceit: the poyson of aspes is vnder their lippes.
14 Cuya boca está llena de maledicencia, y de amargura:
Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitternesse.
15 Sus pies son ligeros para derramar sangre:
Their feete are swift to shead blood.
16 Quebrantamiento y desventura hay en sus caminos:
Destruction and calamity are in their waies,
17 Y el camino de paz no conocieron:
And ye way of peace they haue not knowen.
18 No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos.
The feare of God is not before their eies.
19 Empero ya sabemos, que todo lo que la ley dice, a los que están bajo la ley lo dice; para que toda boca se tape, y que todo el mundo se tenga por reo delante de Dios:
Now we know that whatsoeuer ye Lawe saieth, it saieth it to them which are vnder ye Law, that euery mouth may bee stopped, and all the world be subiect to the iudgement of God.
20 Por tanto, por las obras de la ley ninguna carne se justificará delante de él; porque por la ley es el conocimiento del pecado.
Therefore by the woorkes of the Lawe shall no flesh be iustified in his sight: for by the Lawe commeth the knowledge of sinne.
21 Empero ahora, la justicia de Dios sin la ley se ha manifestado, testificada por la ley, y por los profetas:
But nowe is the righteousnesse, of God made manifest without the Lawe, hauing witnes of the Lawe and of the Prophets,
22 La justicia, digo, de Dios, que es por la fe de Jesu Cristo, para todos, y sobre todos los que creen en él; porque no hay diferencia;
To wit, the righteousnesse of God by the faith of Iesus Christ, vnto all, and vpon all that beleeue.
23 Por cuanto todos pecaron, y están destituidos de la gloria de Dios.
For there is no difference: for all haue sinned, and are depriued of the glorie of God,
24 Siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia, por la redención que es en Jesu Cristo.
And are iustified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Iesus,
25 Al cual Dios ha propuesto por aplacamiento por la fe en su sangre, para manifestación de su justicia por la remisión de los pecados pasados, en la paciencia de Dios;
Whom God hath set forth to be a reconciliation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousnes, by the forgiuenesse of the sinnes that are passed,
26 Para manifestación de su justicia en este tiempo; para que él sea justo, y justificador del que cree en Jesús.
Through the patience of God, to shewe at this time his righteousnesse, that hee might be iust, and a iustifier of him which is of the faith of Iesus.
27 ¿Dónde, pues, está la jactancia? Es echada fuera. ¿Por cuál ley? ¿De las obras? No: sino por la ley de la fe.
Where is then the reioycing? It is excluded. By what Lawe? of woorkes? Nay: but by the Lawe of faith.
28 Así que, concluimos ser el hombre justificado por fe sin las obras de la ley.
Therefore we conclude, that a man is iustified by faith, without the workes of the Lawe.
29 ¿ Es Dios solamente Dios de los Judíos? ¿No es también Dios de los Gentiles? Cierto, él es también Dios de los Gentiles.
God, is he the God of the Iewes onely, and not of the Gentiles also? Yes, euen of the Gentiles also.
30 Porque un Dios es de todos, el cual justificará de la fe la circuncisión, y por la fe a la incircuncisión.
For it is one God, who shall iustifie circumcision of faith, and vncircumcision through faith.
31 ¿Luego deshacemos la ley por la fe? En ninguna manera: antes establecemos la ley.
Doe we then make the Lawe of none effect through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Lawe.
