Salmos 140
1 Escápame, o! Jehová, de hombre malo: de varón de iniquidades guárdame:
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
2 Que pensaron males en el corazón: cada día juntaron contiendas.
Which imagine mischiefs in [their] heart; continually are they gathered together [for] war.
3 Aguzaron su lengua como la serpiente: veneno de áspid hay debajo de sus labios. (Selah)
They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison [is] under their lips. (Selah)
4 Guárdame, o! Jehová, de manos de impío, de varón de injurias guárdame: que han pensado de rempujar mis pasos.
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
5 Soberbios me han escondido lazo y cuerdas: han tendido red: en el lugar de la senda me han puesto lazos. (Selah)
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. (Selah)
6 He dicho a Jehová: Dios mío eres tú: escucha, o! Jehová, la voz de mis ruegos.
I said unto the LORD, Thou [art] my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
7 Jehová, Señor, fortaleza de mi salud, cubre mi cabeza el día de las armas.
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
8 No des, o! Jehová, al impío sus deseos: no saques en efecto su pensamiento, y se ensoberbezcan. (Selah)
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; [lest] they exalt themselves. (Selah)
9 La cabeza de los que me cercan, la perversidad de sus labios la cubra.
[As for] the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10 Caigan sobre ellos brasas: en el fuego les haga Dios caer: en profundos hoyos, de donde no salgan.
Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
11 El varón de lengua no sea firme en la tierra: al varón de injuria cace el mal para rempujones.
Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow [him].
12 Yo sé que hará Jehová el juicio del afligido, el juicio de los menesterosos.
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, [and] the right of the poor.
13 Ciertamente los justos alabarán tu nombre: los rectos estarán en tu presencia.
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
