Marcos 4
1 Otra vez comenzó a enseñar junto al mar. Se reunió ante Él una multitud tan grande que tuvo que sentarse en una barca en el mar, y toda la multitud estaba en la playa.
AND again he began to teach by the sea side: and a vast multitude was assembled about him, so that he went into a vessel to sit down on the sea, and all the multitude was on the land close by the sea.
2 Les enseñaba muchas cosas por medio de parábolas. En su enseñanza les decía:
And he taught them in parables many things, and said unto them in the course of his teaching,
3 Oigan. El sembrador salió a sembrar.
Hear me! Behold, a sower went out to sow;
4 Parte [de la semilla] cayó junto al camino. Llegaron las aves y la devoraron.
and it came to pass as he sowed, some fell by the road side, and the birds of the air came and ate it up.
5 Otra [parte] cayó en el pedregal y brotó enseguida porque no había mucha tierra.
And some fell on a rocky soil, where it had not much mold, and immediately it sprung up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 Pero cuando salió el sol se marchitó, y por no tener raíz se secó.
and when the sun arose it was scorched up; and because it had not root, it withered away.
7 Otra [parte] cayó entre espinos. Los espinos crecieron y la aplastaron, y no dio fruto.
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it, and it produced no fruit.
8 Pero otra [parte] cayó en tierra buena. Al crecer y desarrollarse, dio fruto que produjo una a 30, otra a 70 y otra a ciento por uno.
And some fell on good ground, and produced fruit, growing up, and increasing, and yielded one part thirty fold, and another sixty, and another an hundred.
9 Y decía: El que tiene oídos para oír, escuche.
And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 Cuando quedaron solos, los que estaban con los 12 alrededor de Él le preguntaban sobre las parábolas.
But when they were alone, those who were about him with the twelve, asked him the meaning of the parable.
11 Y les dijo: A ustedes les fue dado [entender] el misterio del reino de Dios. Pero a los de afuera todo se [les] presenta en parábolas,
And he said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are without, all things are in parables:
12 para que al ver, vean y no perciban, y al oír, oigan y no entiendan, no sea que den la vuelta y se les perdone.
That seeing they may see, yet not perceive; and hearing may hear, yet not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins be forgiven them.
13 Entonces les preguntó: ¿No entendieron [ustedes] esta parábola? ¿Cómo entenderán las demás?
And he saith to them, Know ye not this parable? and how will ye know all parables?
14 El que siembra, planta la Palabra.
The sower soweth the word.
15 Los de junto al camino son aquellos en quienes es sembrada la Palabra, y cuando [la] oyen enseguida viene Satanás y quita la Palabra que se sembró en ellos.
Now these are they by the road side; where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan cometh, and taketh away the word sown on their hearts:
16 Los sembrados en pedregales son aquellos que, cuando oyen la Palabra, de inmediato la reciben con gozo,
and these in like manner are they who were sown on the rocky soil; who when they have heard the word, instantly with joy receive it;
17 pero no tienen raíz en ellos mismos. Son temporales. Entonces, cuando viene una aflicción o persecución por causa de la Palabra, enseguida tropiezan.
and have no root in themselves, but are temporary professors: afterwards, when tribulation cometh or persecution for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
18 Los sembrados entre espinos son los que oyen la Palabra,
And those are the sown among the thorns; such as are hearers of the word;
19 pero los afanes de la era presente, el engaño de las riquezas y la codicia por las demás cosas, aplastan la Palabra y no la dejan dar fruto. (aiōn g165)
but the anxious cares of this world, and the seducing nature of wealth, and inordinate desires after other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
20 Los que fueron sembrados en la buena tierra son los que oyen la Palabra y la reciben, y dan fruto, uno a 30, otro a 60, y otro a ciento por uno.
And these are they who are sown on the good ground, such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirty fold, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
21 También les dijo: ¿Se trae la lámpara para ponerla debajo de una caja o debajo de la cama? ¿No es para ponerla sobre el candelero?
And he said unto them, Is a lamp brought out to be put under a bushel, or under a bed, and not to be placed on a stand?
22 Porque no hay [cosa] oculta que no sea manifestada, ni escondida que no salga a la luz.
For there is nothing hid, but that it should be brought to light, nor is any thing concealed, but that it should come into open day.
23 Si alguno tiene oídos para oír, escuche.
If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear.
24 También les dijo: Consideren [lo] que oyen. Con la medida que midan se les medirá y se les añadirá.
And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with the measure ye mete, shall it be measured back to you; and something over shall be given to you that hear.
25 Porque al que tiene, se le dará, y al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene se le quitará.
For to him that hath, there shall more be given to him; but he that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away from him.
26 También dijo: El reino de Dios es como cuando un hombre echa la semilla en la tierra.
And he said, The kingdom of heaven is of that kind, as if a man should cast seed into his field;
27 Él duerme de noche y se levanta de día, y la semilla brota y crece sin que él sepa cómo.
and sleep and rise, night and day, and the sown corn should sprout, and grow into length, he knoweth not how:
28 Por sí misma la tierra da fruto: primero el tallo, luego la espiga, luego los granos que llenan la espiga.
for the earth, naturally prolific, beareth fruit; first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear.
29 Cuando el grano madura, enseguida mete la hoz, porque llegó la cosecha.
But when the grain is ready, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because harvest is come.
30 También dijo: ¿Cómo comparamos el reino de Dios, o con cuál parábola lo propondremos?
And he said, To what shall I liken the kingdom of God, and under what parabolic figure shall I represent it?
31 Es como una semilla de mostaza, la más pequeña de todas las semillas,
It is like a grain of mustard, which when it is sown in the earth, is among the least of all the seeds which are upon the earth:
32 que cuando se siembra, crece y es mayor que todas las hortalizas, y echa grandes ramas de modo que las aves del cielo anidan bajo su sombra.
but when it is sown, it groweth up and becomes greater than all herbaceous plants, and produceth vast branches; so that the birds of the air may roost under the shadow of it.
33 Con muchas parábolas como éstas les hablaba la Palabra, conforme a lo que podían entender.
And with many such like parables spake he to them the word.
34 Y no les hablaba sin parábolas, aunque a sus discípulos explicaba todo en privado.
And without a parable spake he not unto them; but in private he explained them all to his disciples.
35 Aquel mismo día, al llegar la noche, les dijo: Pasemos al otro lado.
And the same day he saith unto them, as the evening shut in, Let us pass over to the other side.
36 Después de despedir a la multitud, lo llevaron tal como estaba en la barca. Y otras barcas lo acompañaban.
And sending the multitude away, they took him just as he was in the vessel; and there were also some other little vessels with him.
37 Pero se desató una gran tormenta de viento y las olas entraban en la barca, de tal modo que la barca se anegaba.
And a great hurricane arose, and the waves broke into the vessel, so that it was now full of water:
38 [Jesús] dormía en la popa sobre una almohada. Lo despertaron y le dijeron: ¡Maestro! ¿No te preocupa que perecemos?
and he was in the stern, sleeping on a pillow: and they awoke him, and say unto him, Master, is it no concern to thee that we are perishing?
39 Cuando lo despertaron, reprendió al viento y dijo al mar: ¡Calla! ¡Enmudece! Y el viento cesó y hubo una gran calma.
And rising, he with authority charged the wind, and said to the sea, Silence! be still! And the wind subsided, and there was a great calm.
40 Entonces les preguntó: ¿Por qué tienen miedo? ¿Aún no tienen fe?
And he said to them, Why are ye so timorous? How is it that ye have not confidence?
41 Tuvieron gran temor y se decían unos a otros: ¿Quién es Éste, que aun el viento y el mar le obedecen?
And they were filled with the most reverential awe, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
