Salmos 58

1 Al maestro de coro. Sobre el tono de “No destruyas”. De David. Miktam. ¿Es verdad que habláis justicia, oh dioses? ¿Es verdad que juzgáis con rectitud a los hijos de los hombres?

TO THE OVERSEER. “DO NOT DESTROY.” A MIKTAM OF DAVID. Is it true, O silent one, that you speak righteously? Do you judge uprightly, O sons of men?

2 No, en vuestro corazón os mueve la iniquidad, y vuestras manos venden al peso la violencia sobre la tierra.

Even in heart you work iniquities, In the land you ponder the violence of your hands.

3 Los prevaricadores se extraviaron desde el seno materno; desde el vientre se descarriaron los impostores.

The wicked have been estranged from the womb, They have erred from the belly, speaking lies.

4 Hay en ellos veneno como en la serpiente, como en el áspid sordo que tapa sus oídos,

Their poison [is] as poison of a serpent, As a deaf cobra shutting its ear,

5 para que no oiga la voz de los encantadores, del mago que sabiamente hechiza.

Which does not listen to the voice of whisperers, A charmer of most skillful charms.

6 Oh Dios, quiebra sus dientes en su misma boca; rompe las muelas de los leones, oh Yahvé.

O God, break their teeth in their mouth, Break down the jaw-teeth of young lions, O YHWH.

7 Disípense como agua derramada; marchítense como la verdura de la hierba.

They are melted as waters, They go up and down for themselves, His arrow proceeds as they cut themselves off.

8 Pasen como el caracol que se deshace; como aborto de mujer, que no ve el sol.

He goes on as a snail that melts, [As] an untimely birth of a woman, They have not seen the sun.

9 Antes que vuestro fuego dé espinas verdes caliente vuestras ollas, arrebátelo todo un torbellino.

Before your pots discern the bramble, As living, He whirls away in His burning anger.

10 El justo se gozará al ver la venganza; lavará sus pies en la sangre del impío.

The righteous rejoices that he has seen vengeance, He washes his steps in the blood of the wicked.

11 Y los hombres dirán: “En verdad hay un premio para el justo; en verdad hay un Dios que juzga en la tierra.”

And man says: “Surely fruit [is] for the righteous: Surely there is a God judging in the earth!”
