Salmos 139
1 Al maestro de coro. Salmo de David. Yahvé, Tú me penetras y me conoces.
For the end, a Psalm of David. O Lord, you have proved me, and known me.
2 Sabes cuando me siento y cuando me levanto; de lejos disciernes mis pensamientos.
You know my down-sitting and mine up-rising: you understand my thoughts long before.
3 Si ando y si descanso Tú lo percibes, y todos mis caminos te son familiares.
You have traced my path and my bed, and have foreseen all my ways.
4 No está todavía en mi lengua la palabra, y Tú, Yahvé, ya la sabes toda.
For there is no unrighteous word in my tongue: behold, O Lord, you have known all things,
5 Tú me rodeas por detrás y por delante, y pones tu mano sobre mí.
the last and the first: you have fashioned me, and laid your hand upon me.
6 Maravillosa sobremanera es para mí tal ciencia, demasiado sublime, superior a mi alcance.
The knowledge of you is too wonderful for me; it is very difficult, I can’t [attain] to it.
7 ¿Adónde iré que me sustraiga a tu espíritu, adónde huiré de tu rostro?
Whither shall I go from your Spirit? and whither shall I flee from my presence?
If I should go up to heaven, you are there: if I should go down to hell, you are present. (Sheol h7585)
9 Si tomare las alas de la aurora, y me posare en el extremo del mar,
If I should spread my wings [to fly] straight forward, and sojourn at the extremity of the sea, [it would be vain],
10 también allí me conducirá tu mano, y me tendrá asido tu diestra.
for even there your hand would guide me, and your right hand would hold me.
11 Si dijera: “Al menos las tinieblas me esconderán”, y a modo de luz me envolviese la noche.
When I said, Surely the darkness will cover me; even the night [was] light in my luxury.
12 las mismas tinieblas no serían oscuras para Ti, y la noche resplandecería como el día, la oscuridad como la luz.
For darkness will not be darkness with you; but night will be light as day: as its darkness, so shall its light [be to you].
13 Tú formaste mis entrañas; me tejiste en el seno de mi madre.
For you, O Lord, have possessed my reins; you have helped me from my mother's womb.
14 Te alabo porque te has mostrado maravilloso, porque tus obras son admirables; largamente conoces mi alma,
I will give you thanks; for you are fearfully wondrous; wondrous are your works; and my soul knows [it] well.
15 y mi cuerpo no se te ocultaba, aunque lo plasmabas en la oscuridad, tejiéndolo bajo la tierra.
My bones, which you made in secret were not hidden from you, nor my substance, in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Tus ojos veían ya mis actos, y todos están escritos en tu libro; los días (míos) estaban determinados antes de que ninguno de ellos fuese.
Your eyes saw my unwrought [substance], and all [men] shall be written in your book; they shall be formed by day, though [there should for a time] be no one amongst them.
17 Oh Dios ¡cuán difíciles de comprender tus designios! ¡Cuán ingente es su número!
But your friends, O God, have been greatly honoured by me; their rule has been greatly strengthened.
18 Si quisiera contarlos, son más que las arenas; si llegara al fin, mi duración sería como la tuya.
I will number them, and they shall be multiplied beyond the sand; I awake, and am still with you.
19 ¡Oh, si quitaras la vida, oh Dios, al impío, y se apartasen de mí los hombres perversos!
Oh that you would kill the wicked, O God; depart from me, you men of blood.
20 Porque con disimulo se rebelan contra Ti; siendo tus enemigos, asumen tu Nombre en vano.
For you will say concerning [their] thought, [that] they shall take your cities in vain.
21 ¿Acaso no debo odiar, Yahvé, a los que te odian, y aborrecer a los que contra Ti se enaltecen?
Have I not hated them, O Lord, that hate you? and wasted away because of your enemies?
22 Los odio con odio total; se han hecho mis propios enemigos.
I have hated them with perfect hatred; they were counted my enemies.
23 Escudríñame, oh Dios, y explora mi corazón, examíname y observa mi intimidad;
Prove me, O God, and know my heart; examine me, and know my paths;
24 mira si ando por el falso camino, y condúceme por la senda antigua.
and see if [there is any] way of iniquity in me, and lead me in an everlasting way.
