1 Njame paulo musebenshi wa Lesa, mutumwa wa Klistu Yesu, walantuma ku bantu balasalwa ne Lesa, kwambeti ndibatangunine kulushomo lwakwinshiba cancinencine cela kubatwala kubuyumi bwakulemekesha Lesa.
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of the chosen ones of God, and an acknowledging of truth that [is] according to piety,
2 Nekubapa kupembelela buyumi butapu. ubo Lesa utabepe, mbwalashomesha kumyaka ya ndoba. (aiōnios g166)
on hope of continuous life, which God, who does not lie, promised before times of ages (aiōnios g166)
3 Lino pacindi celela walayubulula kushomesha uko mumakani akendi. Makani ayo walabika mumakasa akame, weco ndamukambaukili kwelana ne Lesa mupulushi wetu ncalang'ambila.
(and He revealed His word in [His] own times), in preaching, which I was entrusted with, according to a charge of God our Savior,
4 Ndakulembelenga Tito, mwaname wancine ncine mulushomo lwetu twense. Neco Mwami Lesa ne Klistu Yesu, bamupeni lumuno ne luse.
to Titus—true child according to a common faith: Grace, [[kindness, ]] peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior!
5 Ecebo cakendi ndalakushiya ku Kelete kwambeti ubambulule bintu byalashala nekubika batangunishi ba mibungano mu minshi yonse mbuli ncondalakwambila.
For this cause I left you in Crete, that you may arrange the things lacking, and may set elders down in every city, as I appointed to you,
6 Mutangunishi wa mubungano welela kuba muntu wa mpuwo yaina, kayi abe weba mukashi umo, ne bana bakendi bashoma Klistu, kayi beshikunyumfwila bamashali ne kutensa byaipa.
if anyone is blameless, a husband of one wife, having believing children, not under accusation of riotous living or insubordinate—
7 Muntu weshikulangilila mubungano welela kuba ne mpuwo yaina mbulyeti mwembeshi wabikwa ne Lesa. Nkelela kuba muntu shikukolwa bwalwa nambi wabukalu nambi shikuma banendi kayi wabula kushomeka mumakwebo.
for it is required of the overseer to be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleased, nor prone to anger, not given to wine, not an abuser, not given to shameful gain,
8 Welela kuba shikutambula cena bensu, weshikusuna byaina ne kulikata cali kayi walulama shikulikanisha kwinsa byaipa.
but a lover of strangers, a lover of [the] good, sober-minded, righteous, holy, self-controlled,
9 Kayi welela kwikatishisha Maswi ashomeka mbuli ncaleishiwa, kwambeti acikonshe kuyuminisha nabambi ne lwiyisho lwancine ncine kayi ne kucikonsha kukanisha kwinsa byaipa abo bonse bakute kutoteka ciyisho ici.
holding—according to the teaching—to the steadfast word, that he may also be able to exhort in the sound teaching, and to convict the deniers;
10 Pakwinga pali bantu bangi bakute kwambowa bintu byabuluya byela kutaya banabo. Makamaka bantu balafuma palikoto lya bantu balafuma mu Ciyuda beshikunyonganya nekubepa.
for there are many both insubordinate, vain-talkers, and mind-deceivers—especially those of the circumcision—
11 Caina kubamweneka, pakwinga baleishinga mikowa ya bantu, bintu mbyobelela kubula kubeisha, nabo balayandangowa mali.
whose mouths must be covered, who overturn whole households, teaching what things it should not, for [the] sake of shameful gain.
12 Naumbi wa ku Kelete umo wabashinshimi wabo, walambeti, “Bantu baku Kelete ni ba bepeshi kayi ni bilongolo byaipa, nibatolo, nsombi basuni kulyowa,”
A certain one of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans! Always liars, evil beasts, lazy bellies!”
13 Pacebo ici ubakalalile cangofu kwambeti balulame mulushomo,
This testimony is true; for which cause convict them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
14 bacileke kukutika tulabi bwa Bayuda, ne milawo yeshikubikwa ne bantu beshikukana cancinencine.
not giving heed to Jewish fables and commands of men, turning themselves away from the truth.
15 Bintu byonse byaswepa kubantu bakute miyeyo yaswepa, nsombi nkabyaswepa kuli bantu babula luushomo, pakwinga myoyo yabo yaipa.
All things, indeed, [are] pure to the pure, and nothing [is] pure to the defiled and unsteadfast, but even the mind and the conscience of them [is] defiled.
16 Bakute kwambeti Lesa bamwinshi, nsombi minshilo yabo ikute kukana mbyobakute kwamba. Bakute kufundausha kumoyo kayi nkabanyumfwili Lesa, neco nkabelela cintu ciliconse caina.
They profess to know God, but they deny [Him] by their works, being abominable, and disobedient, and disapproved to every good work.
