2 Korinčanom 2
1 Odsodil sem pa v sebi to, da zopet ne pridem v žalosti k vam.
BUT I prescribed to myself this rule, not to come again to you with sorrow.
2 Kajti če jaz žalostim vas, kdo je, kteri bi me razveselil, če ne ta, kteri se žalostí po meni?
For if I make you sorry, who is he that maketh me glad, but he that is made sorrowful by me?
3 In napisal sem vam to isto, da ne bi žalosti imel, ko pridem, od teh, za ktere bi se imel radovati, nadejajoč se za vas vse, da je moja radost vseh vas radost.
And I have written unto you for this very purpose, that I might not, when I come to you, have sorrow from those in whom I ought to rejoice, having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
4 Kajti z veliko stisko in s srčno težavo sem vam pisal z mnogimi solzami, ne da se žalostite, nego da ljubezen spoznate, ktero imam obilno do vas.
For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears, not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly towards you.
5 Če je pa kdo vžalostil, ni mene vžalostil, le nekoliko, da ne obtežujem vseh vas.
Now if any person hath given cause for grief, he hath not grieved me merely, but partly all of you; that I may add no farther burden.
6 Dosti je takemu ta kazen od več njih;
Sufficient for such person is that chastisement which hath been inflicted by the majority of you.
7 Tako da nasproti rajši vi odpustite in potolažite, da bi kako preobilna žalost ne utopila takega.
Wherefore, on the contrary, ye rather ought to forgive and comfort him, lest such a one be swallowed up with excess of sorrow.
8 Za to vas opominjam, da potrdite do njega ljubezen.
Wherefore I exhort you to confirm your love towards him.
9 Kajti za to sem tudi pisal, da spoznam izkušenost vašo; je li ste v vsem poslušni.
For to this end also have I written, that I may know by this proof of you if ye are obedient in all things.
10 Komur pa kaj odpustite, njemu tudi jaz; kajti jaz, če sem kaj odpustil, komur sem odpustil, za voljo vas sem pred obličjem Kristusovim,
But to whomsoever ye forgive any thing, so do I; and if I forgive any thing, to whom I forgive, for your sakes I do it, in the person of Jesus Christ,
11 Da bi nas ne ukanil satan, kajti niso nam njegove misli neznane.
that no advantage be gained over us by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
12 A ko sem prišel v Troado za voljo evangelja Kristusovega, in so mi bila vrata odprta v Gospodu,
But when I came to Troas to preach the Gospel of Christ, though a door was opened unto me by the Lord,
13 Nisem imel mira v duhu svojem, ker nisem našel Tita brata; nego vzemši slovo od njih, šel sem ven v Macedonijo.
I had no test in my spirit on my not finding there Titus my brother: so taking my leave of them I went forth unto Macedonia.
14 Ali Bogu hvala, kteri nam vsegdar zmago daje v Kristusu, in dišavo znanosti, svoje razodeva po nas na vsakem mestu.
But thanks be to God, who causeth us always to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
15 Ker smo Kristusova prijetna dišava Bogu v teh, kteri se zveličujejo in v tistih, kteri se pogubljajo.
For we are a sweet odour of Christ to God in those who are saved, and in those who perish.
16 Enim je dihet smrti za smrt, a drugim dihet življenja za življenje, in za to kdo je zmožen?
To the one we are the odour of death unto death, to the other the odour of life unto life: and who is sufficient for these things?
17 Kajti nismo kakor mnogi, kteri preobračajo besedo Božjo, nego kakor iz čistote, nego kakor iz Boga, pričo Boga v Kristusu govorimo;
For we are not as the many, adulterating the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, speak we in Christ.
