Psalmi 74
1 Oh Bog, zakaj nas zavračaš za vedno? Zakaj se tvoja jeza kadi proti ovcam tvoje paše?
A Maskil of Asaph. Why have You rejected us forever, O God? Why does Your anger smolder against the sheep of Your pasture?
2 Spomni se svoje skupnosti, ki si jo odkupil od davnine, palico svoje dediščine, ki si jo odkupil, to goro Sion, kjer prebivaš.
Remember Your congregation, which You purchased long ago and redeemed as the tribe of Your inheritance— Mount Zion where You dwell.
3 Dvigni svoja stopala k neprestanim opustošenjem, celó vsemu kar je sovražnik zlobnega storil v svetišču.
Turn Your steps to the everlasting ruins, to everything in the sanctuary the enemy has destroyed.
4 Tvoji sovražniki rjovijo v sredi tvojih skupnosti, svoje zastave so postavili za znamenja.
Your foes have roared within Your meeting place; they have unfurled their banners as signs,
5 Človek je bil slaven, če je nad debela drevesa dvigoval sekire.
like men wielding axes in a thicket of trees
6 Toda sedaj so s sekirami in kladivi takoj zlomili rezljano delo le-tega.
and smashing all the carvings with hatchets and picks.
7 Ogenj so vrgli v tvoje svetišče, s podrtjem do tal so omadeževali bivališče tvojega imena.
They have burned Your sanctuary to the ground; they have defiled the dwelling place of Your Name.
8 V svojih srcih so rekli: »Skupaj jih uničimo.« V deželi so požgali vse Božje sinagoge.
They said in their hearts, “We will crush them completely.” They burned down every place where God met us in the land.
9 Ne vidimo svojih znamenj. Nobenega preroka ni več niti tukaj med nami ni nobenega, ki ve doklej.
There are no signs for us to see. There is no longer any prophet. And none of us knows how long this will last.
10 Oh Bog, doklej bo nasprotnik grajal? Mar bo sovražnik na veke preklinjal tvoje ime?
How long, O God, will the enemy taunt You? Will the foe revile Your name forever?
11 Zakaj umikaš svojo roko, celó svojo desnico? Iztrgaj jo iz svojega naročja.
Why do You withdraw Your strong right hand? Stretch it out to destroy them!
12 Kajti Bog je moj Kralj od davnine, ki dela rešitev duš v sredi zemlje.
Yet God is my King from ancient times, working salvation on the earth.
13 S svojo močjo si razdelil morje. Razbijaš glave zmajem v vodah.
You divided the sea by Your strength; You smashed the heads of the dragons of the sea;
14 Razbijaš glave leviatána na koščke in ga daješ, da postane hrana ljudstvu, ki prebiva v divjini.
You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You fed him to the creatures of the desert.
15 Združil si studenec in morje, osušuješ mogočne reke.
You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up the ever-flowing rivers.
16 Dan je tvoj, tudi noč je tvoja, pripravil si svetlobo in sonce.
The day is Yours, and also the night; You established the moon and the sun.
17 Določil si vse meje zemlje. Naredil si poletje in zimo.
You set all the boundaries of the earth; You made the summer and winter.
18 Spomni se, da je sovražnik grajal, oh Gospod in da je nespametno ljudstvo izrekalo bogokletje proti tvojemu imenu.
Remember how the enemy has mocked You, O LORD, how a foolish people has spurned Your name.
19 Oh ne izročaj duše svoje grlice množici zlobnih. Ne pozabi skupnosti svojih ubogih na veke.
Do not deliver the soul of Your dove to beasts; do not forget the lives of Your afflicted forever.
20 Ozri se k zavezi, kajti temni kraji zemlje so polni prebivališč krutosti.
Consider Your covenant, for haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land.
21 Oh naj se zatirani ne vrne osramočen. Naj ubog in pomoči potreben hvalita tvoje ime.
Do not let the oppressed retreat in shame; may the poor and needy praise Your name.
22 Vstani, oh Bog, zagovarjaj svojo lastno pravdo. Spomni se, kako te nespameten človek dnevno graja.
Rise up, O God; defend Your cause! Remember how the fool mocks You all day long.
23 Ne pozabi glasu svojih sovražnikov. Hrup teh, ki vstajajo zoper tebe, se nenehno povečuje.
Do not disregard the clamor of Your adversaries, the uproar of Your enemies that ascends continually.
