1 И припад Иосиф на лице отца своего, плакася (горько) о нем и облобыза его:
And Ioseph fell apon his fathers face and wepte apon him and kyssed him.
2 и повеле Иосиф рабом своим погребателем погребсти отца своего. И погребоша погребателие Израиля.
And Ioseph commaunded his seruauntes that were Phisicions to embawme his father and the Phisicios ebawmed Israel
3 И исполнишася ему четыредесять дний: тако бо исчисляются дние погребения: и плакася его Египет седмьдесят дний.
.xl. dayes loge for so loge doth ye embawminge last and the Egiptians bewepte him. lxx. dayes.
4 Егда же преидоша дние плача, глагола Иосиф ко вельможам фараоновым, глаголя: аще обретох благодать пред вами, рцыте о мне во ушы фараону, глаголюще:
And when the dayes of wepynge were ended Ioseph spake vnto ye house of Pharao saynge: Yf I haue founde fauoure in youre eyes speake vnto Pharao and tell him how that
5 отец мой закля мя прежде скончания (своего), глаголя: во гробе, егоже ископах себе в земли Ханаани, тамо мя погреби: ныне убо возшед погребу отца моего и возвращуся. И рекоша фараону по словеси Иосифову.
my father made me swere and sayde: loo Ioye se that thou burye me in my graue which I haue made me in the lande of Canaan. Now therfore let me goo and burye my father ad tha will I come agayne.
6 И рече фараон ко Иосифу: взыди, погреби отца твоего, якоже закля тя.
And Pharao sayde goo and burye thy father acordynge as he made the swere.
7 И взыде Иосиф погребсти отца своего. И совзыдоша с ним вси раби фараони и старейшины дому его, и вси старейшины земли Египетския,
And Ioseph went vp to burie his father and with him went all the seruauntes of Pharao that were the elders of his house ad all ye elders of Egipte
8 и весь дом Иосифов и братия его, и весь дом отца его и сродницы его: овцы же и волы оставиша в земли Гесем.
and all the house of Ioseph ad his brethern and his fathers house: only their childern and their shepe and their catell lefte they behinde them in the lande of Gosan.
9 И совзыдоша с ним и колесницы и конницы, и бысть полк велик зело.
And there went with him also Charettes and horsemen: so that they were an exceadynge great companye.
10 И приидоша на Гумно Атадово, еже есть об он пол Иордана, и рыдаша его рыданием велиим и крепким зело: и сотвори плачь отцу своему седмь дний.
And when they came to ye feld of Atad beyonde Iordane there they made great and exceadinge sore lamentacio. And he morned for his father. vij. dayes.
11 И видеша жителие земли Ханаанския плачь на Гумне Атадове и реша: плачь велик сей есть Египтяном. Сего ради наречеся имя месту тому плачь Египетск, еже есть об он пол Иордана.
When the enhabiters of the lande the Cananytes sawe the moornynge in ye felde of Atad they saide: this is a greate moornynge which the Egiptians make. Wherfore ye name of the place is called Abel mizraim which place lyeth beyonde Iordane.
12 И сотвориша ему тако сынове его, якоже заповеда им.
And his sonnes dyd vnto him acordynge as he had commaunded them.
13 И взяша его сынове его в землю Ханааню и погребоша его в пещере Сугубей, юже стяжа Авраам пещеру в стяжание гроба от Ефрона Хеттеанина, прямо Мамврии.
And his sonnes caried him in to the land of Canaan and buryed him in the double caue which Abraha had boughte with the felde to be a place to burye in of Ephron the Hethite before Mamre.
14 И возвратися Иосиф во Египет, сам и братия его и вси совозшедшии погребсти отца его.
And Ioseph returned to Egipte agayne and his brethern and all that went vp with him to burye his father assone as he had buryed him.
15 Видевше же братия Иосифовы, яко умре отец их, реша: да не когда воспомянет злобу нашу Иосиф и воздаянием воздаст нам за вся злая, яже показахом ему.
Whe Iosephs brethern sawe that their father was deade they sayde: Ioseph myghte fortune to hate us and rewarde us agayne all the euell which we dyd vnto him.
16 И пришедше ко Иосифу рекоша: отец твой закля прежде кончины своея, глаголя:
They dyd therfore a commaundment vnto Ioseph saynge: thy father charged before his deth saynge.
17 тако рцыте Иосифу: остави им неправду и грех их, яко лукавая тебе показаша: и ныне приими неправду рабов Бога отца твоего. И плакася Иосиф, глаголющим им к нему.
This wise say vnto Ioseph forgeue I praye the the trespace of thy brethern and their synne for they rewarded the euell. Now therfore we praye the forgeue the trespace of the servuantes of thy fathers God. And Ioseph wepte when they spake vnto him.
18 И пришедше к нему рекоша: се, мы тебе раби.
And his brethern came ad fell before him and sayde: beholde we be thy servauntes.
19 И рече к ним Иосиф: не бойтеся, Божий бо есмь аз:
And Ioseph sayde vnto them: feare not for am not I vnder god?
20 вы совещасте на мя злая, Бог же совеща о мне благая, дабы было якоже днесь, и препиталися бы людие мнози.
Ye thoughte euell vnto me: but God turned it vnto good to bringe to passe as it is this daye euen to saue moch people a lyue
21 И рече им: не бойтеся, аз препитаю вас и домы вашя. И утеши их, и глагола им по сердцу их.
feare not therfore for I will care for you and for youre childern and he spake kyndly vnto them.
22 И вселися Иосиф во Египте сам и братия его и весь дом отца его: и поживе Иосиф лет сто десять.
Ioseph dwelt in Egipte and his fathers house also ad lyved an hundred and. x. yere.
23 И виде Иосиф Ефремли дети до третияго рода: и сынове Махира сына Манассиина родишася при бедрех Иосифовых.
And Ioseph sawe Ephraims childern eue vnto the thyrde generation. And vnto Machir the sonne of Manasses were childern borne and satt on Iosephs knees.
24 И рече Иосиф братии своей, глаголя: аз умираю, посещением же посетит вас Бог и изведет вас от земли сея в землю, о нейже клятся Бог отцем нашым Аврааму, Исааку и Иакову.
And Ioseph sayde vnto his brethern: I die And God will suerlie vysett you and bringe you out of this lande vnto the lande which he sware vnto Abraham Isaac and Iacob.
25 И закля Иосиф сыны Израилевы, глаголя: в посещении, имже посетит вас Бог, совознесите и кости моя отсюду с вами.
And Ioseph toke an ooth of the childern of Israel ad sayde: God will not fayle but vysett you se therfore that ye carye my boones hence.
26 И скончася Иосиф сый лет ста десяти: и погребоша его, и положиша в раце во Египте.
And so Ioseph dyed when he was an hundred and. x. yere olde. And they enbawmed him and put him in a chest in Egipte.
