< Mateo 9 >

1 Jesu akapinda mugwa akayambuka ndokusvika kuguta rokwake.
And he entered the ship, and passed over and came to his own city.
2 Vamwe varume vakauya nomunhu akanga akafa mitezo, avete pabonde. Jesu akati aona kutenda kwavo akati kumunhu uya akafa mitezo, “Tsunga mwoyo, mwana, zvivi zvako zvaregererwa.”
And they brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And Jesus saw their faith, and said to the paralytic: Take courage, my son; thy sins are forgiven thee.
3 Vachinzwa izvi, vamwe vadzidzisi vemirayiro vakati mumwoyo yavo, “Munhu uyu ari kumhura Mwari!”
And some of the Scribes said in their minds, This man blasphemeth.
4 Achiziva pfungwa dzavo Jesu akati, “Sei muchifunga zvakaipa mumwoyo yenyu?
But Jesus knew their thoughts: and he said to them, Why do ye think evil things in your heart?
5 Ndezvipi zvakareruka, kuti, ‘Zvivi zvako waregererwa,’ kana kuti, ‘Simuka ufambe’?
For, which is the easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?
6 Asi kuti mugoziva kuti Mwanakomana woMunhu ane simba panyika rokuregerera zvivi.” Ipapo akati kumunhu uya akanga akafa mitezo, “Simuka, tora bonde rako uende kumba.”
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins, he said to the paralytic: Arise, take up thy bed, and go to thy home.
7 Uye murume uya akasimuka akaenda kumba kwake.
And he arose and went to his home.
8 Vanhu vazhinji pavakazviona, vakazadzwa nokutya uye vakarumbidza Mwari uyo akanga apa simba rakadai kuvanhu.
And when the multitudes saw it, they were struck with awe; and they praised God, who had given authority like this to men.
9 Jesu akati achipfuurira mberi achibva ikoko, akaona mumwe murume ainzi Mateo agere pahofisi yomuteresi. Akati kwaari, “Nditevere,” uye Mateo akasimuka akamutevera.
And as Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man sitting at the custom-house, whose name was Matthew. And he said to him, Follow me: and he arose and followed him.
10 Jesu akati agere mumba maMateo vachidya kudya kwamanheru, vateresi vazhinji navatadzi vakauya vakadya naye navadzidzi vake.
And as they were reclining in a house, many publicans an sinners came and reclined with Jesus and his disciples.
11 VaFarisi vakati vaona izvi, vakabvunza vadzidzi vake vachiti, “Sei mudzidzisi wenyu achidya navateresi navatadzi?”
And when the Pharisees saw it they said to his disciples, Why doth your Rabbi eat with publicans and sinners?
12 Achinzwa izvi, Jesu akati, “Vasingarwari havatsvagi chiremba, asi vanorwara.
And as Jesus heard it, he said to them: They who are in health have no need of a physician, but they that are very sick.
13 Asi endai munodzidza kuti izvi zvinorevei zvinoti, ‘Ndinoda ngoni, kwete chibayiro.’ Nokuti handina kuuya kuzodana vakarurama, asi vatadzi.”
Go and learn what that is: I require compassion, and not a sacrifice! For I did not come to call the righteous, but the sinful.
14 Vadzidzi vaJohani vakauya kuzomubvunza vachiti, “Ko, sei isu navaFarisi tichitsanya asi vadzidzi venyu vasingatsanyi.”
Then came to him the disciples of John, and said: Why do we and the Pharisees fast much and thy disciples fast not?
15 Jesu akapindura achiti, “Zvingaitawo here kuti shamwari dzechikomba dzicheme iye achiinavo? Nguva ichasvika iyo chikomba chichabviswa kwavari, ipapo vachatsanya.
Jesus said to them: Can the children of the nuptial chamber fast, so long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then they will fast.
16 “Hapana munhu anosonera chigamba chitsva panguo tsaru, nokuti chigamba chichabvarura nguo iya, buri racho richizobva ranyanya.
No one inserteth a piece of new cloth on an old garment; lest that which filleth up, tear from that garment, and the rent become greater.
17 Uye vanhu havangadiri waini itsva muhombodo tsaru. Kana vakadaro, hombodo dzichaputika, waini ichateuka uye hombodo dzichaparara. Kwete, vanodira waini itsva muhombodo itsva uye zvose zviri zviviri zvinochengetedzeka.”
And they do not put new wine into old sacks; lest the sacks burst, and the wine run out, and the sacks perish. But they put new wine into new sacks and they are both preserved.
18 Akati achiri kutaura izvi, mumwe mutongi akauya akasvikomupfugamira uye akati, “Mwanasikana wangu afa izvozvi. Asi uyai muzoisa ruoko rwenyu paari agorarama.”
And while he was thus discoursing with them a certain ruler came, drew near, worshipped him and said: My daughter is already dead, but come lay thy hand upon her, and she will live.
19 Jesu akasimuka akaenda naye pamwe chete navadzidzi vake.
And Jesus rose up, and his disciples; and they followed him.
20 Pakarepo mumwewo mudzimai aitambudzwa nechirwere chokubuda ropa kwamakore gumi namaviri akauya shure kwake akasvikobata mupendero wenguo yake.
And behold, a woman whose blood had flowed fourteen years, came up behind him, and touched the extremity of his robe:
21 Akati nechomumwoyo, “Ndikangobata chete nguo yake, ndichaporeswa.”
for she had said in her mind, If I but touch his garment I shall be cured.
22 Jesu akatendeuka akamuona ndokubva ati kwaari, “Tsunga mwoyo mwanasikana, kutenda kwako kwakuporesa.” Mudzimai uyu akabva aporeswa pakarepo.
And Jesus turned himself, looked at her, and said to her: Take courage, my daughter; thy faith hath given thee life. And the woman was cured from that very hour.
23 Jesu akati apinda mumba momutongi uya, akawana varidzi venyere navazhinji vaiita mheremhere
And Jesus came to the house of the ruler: and he saw there pipers, and multitudes making outcry.
24 akati, “Budai panze. Mwanasikana uyu haana kufa asi avete.” Asi vakamuseka.
And he said to them: Retire; for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they scoffed at him.
25 Mushure mokunge vanhu vazhinji ava vabudiswa panze, akapinda akasvikobata mwanasikana uya ruoko achibva amuka.
And when he had ejected the throngs, he entered in, and took her by the hand, and the maid rose up.
26 Nhau dzezvakaitika izvi, dzakapararira nedunhu rose.
And the fame of this thing spread in all that land.
27 Jesu akati achibvapo, akateverwa navarume vaviri vakanga vari mapofu, vaishevedzera vachiti, “Mwanakomana waDhavhidhi, tinzwireiwo ngoni!”
And when Jesus had passed from there, two blind men followed after him, and said: Have mercy on us, Thou Son of David!
28 Akati apinda mumba, mapofu aya akauya kwaari, uye Jesu akavabvunza achiti, “Munotenda here kuti ndinogona kukuitirai izvi?” Vakapindura vakati, “Hongu, Ishe.”
And when he had entered a house, those blind men approached him, and Jesus said to them: Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said to him, Yes, our Lord.
29 Ipapo akabata meso avo uye akati, “Maererano nokutenda kwenyu, ngazviitwe kwamuri.”
Then he touched their eyes, and said: As ye have believed, so shall it be to you.
30 Uye meso avo akabva asvinudzwa. Jesu akavayambira chaizvo achiti, “Onai kuti hapana achazviziva izvi.”
And forthwith their eyes were opened. And Jesus charged them and said: See, that no man know of it.
31 Asi ivo vakaenda vakataura nezvake mudunhu rose iri.
But they went out and spread the fame of it in all that land.
32 Vakati vachibuda, mumwe murume akanga ari mbeveve uye akabatwa nedhimoni akauyiswa kuna Jesu.
And as Jesus went out, they brought to him a dumb man in whom was a demon.
33 Dhimoni rakati radzingwa, munhu uya akanga ari mbeveve akataura. Vanhu vazhinji vakashamiswa uye vakati, “Zvakadai hazvisati zvamboonekwa muIsraeri.”
And when the demon had gone out, the dumb man conversed. And the multitudes admired, and said: Never was it so seen in Israel!
34 Asi vaFarisi vakati, “Anodzinga madhimoni nomukuru wamadhimoni.”
But the Pharisees said: It is by the Prince of demons, he casteth out demons.
35 Jesu akafamba nomumaguta ose nemisha yose, achidzidzisa mumasinagoge avo achiparidza nhau dzakanaka dzoumambo uye achiporesa zvirwere zvose nehosha dzose.
And Jesus traveled over all the cities and the villages: and he taught in their synagogues, and proclaimed the tidings of the kingdom, and healed all diseases and all pains.
36 Akati achiona vanhu vazhinji, akavanzwira tsitsi nokuti vaishushwa uye vakanga vasina simba, vakaita samakwai asina mufudzi.
And when Jesus looked on the multitudes, he pitied them; because they were wearied and dispersed, like sheep that have no shepherd.
37 Ipapo akati kuvadzidzi vake, “Kukohwa kukuru asi vashandi vashoma.
And he said to his disciples, The harvest is great, and the laborers few.
38 Naizvozvo kumbirai kuna Ishe wokukohwa kuti atumire vashandi mukukohwa kwake.”
Entreat, therefore, of the Lord of the harvest, that he would send laborers into his harvest.
